Dr. Lance is personable and friendly, giving me the feeling he had all the time in the world for me as if I were his only patient. When a snafu occurred about surgery at the 11th hour, he personally called me about it multiple times over it in trying to resolve the issue, which I really appreciated. My experience with Dr. Lance, his team, and his associated hospital was a 10 out of 10, i.e. ‘all-stars’, for my Laser Prostatectomy. The surgery was quite successful, giving me very likely many years on my life. Post-OP resulted in very controllable pain (off everything except Tylenol in 12 hours), and the (4th floor) Providence Holy Family Hospital staff provided very attentive/personable care. I went home after only a short overnight stay, and without a catheter. The pre-surgery information, scheduling (thanks Sue!), and Discharge Instructions were excellent. The experience was one where I felt safe and the practices were professional for prevention. They are doing things well. Dr. Lance is the ultimate professional. He is thorough and encouraging. Dr. Lance performed my surgery in May 2020. He explained the procedure in detail and answered my questions during the pre-surgery meetings. Despite delays in scheduling the surgery because of the covid, Dr. Lance was able to arrange additional surgeries for his patients. The surgery went as expected except that I experienced a severe allergic reaction to the surgical adhesive used to close the incisions. This was treated with steroids to control the irritation. My virtual appointment with Dr. Lance was very helpful. He listened to concerns I had regarding my fathers care and offered solutions that will get him on the road to recovery. I have had an on-going issue with an enlarged prostate for several years. When we moved to the area from having lived overseas for many years, I asked a friend in the area whom also had a similar issue. He recommended Dr. Lance. Dr Lance is amazing. I had an urgent need and called several places. I only heard back from Dr. Lance and he alerted his front desk I was on my way in as a walk in. I accompanied my husband in office to his consultation and prostate biopsy with Dr. Lance. I was very impressed with Dr. Lance's professionalism and thoroughness of all information given and asked during the consultation. During the biopsy he informed myself and my husband about everything he was doing during the whole process. He personally called my husband on a Saturday morning with the results. Dr. Lance is professional, caring and very good at what he does. He truly saved my life in December 2018 when I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I see him twice a year for check-ups. I highly recommend Dr. Lance!

Dr Lance thorough excellent care. Front office worst ever. I wonder if they ever answer the phone, even tried physicians line no answer after 7 rings. Stayed on hold 29, 25, 10 minutes on different days of the week.

Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to meet Dr. Lance BUT my experience with the Spokane Urology Clinic, who he is affiliated with, was very unimpressive to say the least and, according to the clinic, was so because of Dr. Lance. I needed a very common procedure performed, one that is often used to diagnose a specific disease but also used to monitor the status of that same disease once diagnosis is established. I needed the procedure done to monitor the status of a condition I have been diagnosed with for 3 years. My local urologist can perform the procedure in the same way that it has been performed for years and as it I have had it done several times in the past.....but Spokane Urology Clinic has a new technique for performing the procedure, one that is marginally more accurate than the traditional method My local urologist suggested that I have the procedure done the new way because it was the wave of the future, so I researched providers who could do the procedure and Spokane Urology Clinic is very up front with their marketing for this new testing technology. Spokane is a 3 hour drive for me but I was more than willing to make the drive. I contacted Spokane Urology Clinic to determine if the procedure could be done with a referral from my local urologist. I was told no, I would have to establish myself as a new patient. That was strange but I was OK with that. I started the process and eventually got an appointment...for a CONSULTATION....not the procedure that I need. There is nothing that Dr. Lance could possibly get from me or provide me in a scheduled 10 minute consult...seriously, their web app shows the appointment length as 10 minutes. I asked if it would be possible to do the consult in the morning and the procedure afterwards in the same day. Nope, can't do that....Doctor isn't "comfortable" with that....so its obvious the consult is unnecessary because if it weren't we could do the consult and if for some unknown reason the procedure wasn't needed or was un-advisable simply cancel the procedure. Knowing that providers sometimes have difficulty billing for the same patient on the same day I offered to pay two co-pays and make two appointments. No go....they claimed this wasn't the issue.....BUT when I offered to pay for BOTH appointments out of pocket??? Lo and behold all of a sudden Dr. Lance isn't so uncomfortable, according to Spokane Urology at least. They said that it would be possible to schedule the consult and the procedure in the same day IF I was a cash customer LOL....I told them I wasn't comfortable with a provider associated with a clinic that would be that dishonest. It wasn't until later, though, that I discover Spokane Urology Clinic is part of the KADLEC System. I saw a Urologist there for over a year ....every 90 days....who knew full well my condition had been diagnosed for 2 years at that time....there was no doubt....we had spoken about it AT LENGTH...he had my records. This Doctor somehow came to the conclusion that I needed this procedure done a year earlier than scheduled...because we needed to DIAGNOSE me! I am seriously wondering how people in Eastern Washington live any length of time at all with that level of incompetence. Everything was explained to me as to what was going to happen and he was very calm and reassuring. I was apprehensive before the procedure but everything went well. No pain afterword.

Many reviews attest to the fact that Dr. Lance is a nice guy, that he explains things clearly, and that he is comforting. All these are true and are important traits, but of utmost importance is the fact that he is an excellent excellent and meticulous surgeon. He is up to date on the latest techniques, is a competent diagnostician and wisely suggests the best treatment options. If you want the best possible outcome, Dr. Lance is the surgeon you can trust to deliver.

Very helpful in explaining options leading up to robotic removal of prostate versus radiation. Absolutely made the best choice for me. Excellent surgery with minimal pain. Highly recommend this fine physician and caring person.

Every time I have been to see Dr Lance he has been on top of every stage of my urology needs. He is honest and respectful. My surgery went well and I feel great about my decision to be under his care. I would recommend him and his staff to everyone in need, he is by far the best.

It is so special to find a really good Doctor like Dr Lance. He is highly skilled in general urologic surgery, and has extensive experience in robotic surgery. He has an empathetic concerned bedside manner and a thorough knowledge of his field. An absolutely outstanding doctor. He has performed over 1500 prostate surgeries, the vast majority via robotic method. My personal experience is that I had an unusually large prostate that created additional potential issues. Dr Lance's experience enabled him to expertly handle my case resulting in an outstanding outcome. He is patient, helpful, personable, and knowledgeable. I cannot overstate how highly I regard Dr. Lance. As far as office wait time, depends on emergency surgeries.
