Dr. Renee Cherie Macleod

Dr. Macleod was my primary physician for several years. Initially all was fine, until I needed urgent attention. In the previous years I was healthy (would visit once a year for a physical). This year has been different. I had Covid in December and haven’t fully recovered. I’ve had a multitude of high priority health concerns and did not feel supported. I felt like she was quick to prescribe me medication to patch the problem or send me to the urgent care next door. I needed a doctor to help me build a plan, and figure out the root cause of my issues. One positive is we at least got some radiology/imaging done through her referrals. However, I didn’t feel like she took the time to analyze those results and determine next steps. She would often say “ask the specialist”. Very “not my job” mentality. Anyway, after I reached out for the past week expressing that I was in severe & unusual pain, the most I got from her nurses was telling me to drink water & stretch. I went out on a limb and switched to UCLA Health this week. I was able to obtain a same day in-person appointment, & comprehensive bloodwork within 24 hours. My new doctor’s after-visit summary was also extremely thorough. I don’t think UCLA will be without flaws but I already feel like their attention to detail & urgency is better! Dr. MacLeod has been my Primary Care Physician for several years now. She is truly outstanding and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's patient, thorough, caring, and has a great demeanor and sense of humor. It's always a very positive experience and she takes great care to understand and treat me. I feel very comfortable with her advice and that she is looking out for my best medical interests. The entire staff team have been gracious and very easy to work with. They all make it very easy and positive during my appointments!

She is always very empathetic towards my health needs and I love the fact she shares natural supplement options with me in addition to regular medical prescriptions. She’s one of the best PCPs I’ve had!

I’m a new patient and found Dr. Mc Cloud to be very thorough. The best part is that she listened and became a partner with me in the care of my health.

She ordered a lot of unnecessary test !!! After , getting a second opinion we found out she had misread them!!!! She is a waste of time of money .

I'm a proud veteran, enlisted, NCO and officer. I RARELY write social media reviews. Based on my first and last visit with Ms. Macleod in late 2017, I highly and strongly recommend you AVOID her. Notably, the generally positive reviews/rating about Ms. Macleod, which appear on her own healthcare organization website, are clearly at odds with the highly negative reviews at virtually every other website I have reviewed. When considering whether to select Ms. Macleod as a primary care physician, I urge you to give greater weight to the latter sets of ratings and reviews, including this one. I have been a patient of Dr. Macleod for over 20 years. She has never rushed through an appointment and has always taken the time to listen to me. That's rare in this HMO age. She is careful and methodical when deciding on a plan of action for us to take. For one of my medical issues, she ordered several tests in order to rule out disease. It turns out I was lactose intolerant, but her process was sound. I went through several doctors before finding Dr. Macleod and was horrified by the fast food experience. I've been treated by Dr. Renee Macleod for more than 7 years. She cares about her employees and always genuinely concerned or interested in my well being. Only doctor I have ever felt truly connected with me and personable. I recommend her to anyone seeking a long term patient doctor relationship.

I was treated for a bladder infection and Dr. MacLeod gave me 4 different antibiotics before I requested my records to go to another doctor. By then I was bleeding and my GI was completely screwed up. The doctor I followed up with took one look at my records and said "what on Earth!". He knew immediately which antibiotic I needed and advised me to NEVER return to Dr. MacLeod.
