Dr. Boulay has excellent communication skills, enhancing patient education. He gained my trust for surgery during a consult. After care was just as thorough, respectful and caring.

Truthful Review NOT written by nurse practioners who know/worked with him. This doctor purposefully will not give you a copy of your surgery consent form-GET one when you sign it. If you have a condition which is not definitively benign nor malignant, go get an MRI (he will refuse you one-do it elsewhere)! If he writes "possible hysterectomy" on consent form, please be aware this means he Can perform one-even if your condition is benign. Also, as a teaching hospital, be aware that medical students can perform exams on your anesthesized body if you do not check the box labeled "do not consent"- this is for their benefit, NOT yours. This doctor will skip going over that part with you, fearing you most likely will say no. Lastly, please educate yourselves on what having a hysterectomy will do to you. Your sex organs are so extremely important to keep you healthy, enjoy sex and much more-even after menopause. Do your research before blindly agreeing to most likely unnecessary surgery.

Ladies, read the entirety of your consent form before undergoing surgery. You can check a box stating you Do Not consent to medical residents or students examining you (pelvic exams for training under anesthesia) or being photographed while unconscious. The doctor NOT explaining or not showing you that part, and you signing the long form, isn't informed consent. Not by a long shot! Also, obtain a copy of your consent form the day you sign it. Also important to know - there are other means of getting a definitive diagnosis BEFORE embarking on a major surgery, rather than getting an "if anything looks bad during surgery we will just remove everything" spiel. Sure, when pathology comes back as -everything was benign- you will be so relieved it was not cancer you will be grateful you were castrated and are hormonally bereft for life. Just research, educate and inform yourselves - we are our own health advocates!

thank goodness for dr. boulay - he has treated several of my family members for ovarian cancer issues -- we are so fortunate to have such excellent care in the lehigh valley!

Dr Boulay did my surgery a year ago April 2nd. Everything turned out for me. He is an amazing doctor . He truly cares about his patient and makes you feel very positive and comfortable .

Dr. Boulay is an amazing doctor who takes the time to listen to the concerns of his patients and is so very compassionate. I wish all doctors had his bed side manner. Truly a caring soul.
