Dr. Richard Earl Goodman

My husband made a trip to ER in excruciating pain.He was diagnosed with a pinched nerve.In the ER he was given pain meds and was told to follow up with his doctor. Tried to make an appointment with Goodman who was not available. My husband met with a nurse practitioner who was of NO help whatsoever. She didn’t give any guidance at all. She stated she could not help him.My husband phoned Dr.Goodman and explained he’s in excruciating pain. Dr. Goodman refers him to pain management not addressing his pain issue at all. Pain management doesn’t have any availability until May 13th !!! My husband begged Dr. Goodman to prescribe pain meds or advise him being the appointment is so far away. Very nastily he tells him I not giving you anything. This is HORRIBLE. He has been in constant pain now for about a month :( It’s disgusting to treat a patient this way.

Dr Goodman is a fine doctor but his office staff has made so many mistakes with billing that I was forced to switch to a different doctor. The last straw was incorrect coding of claims for my yearly physical to the insurance company, which is still not resolved after months of calls and emails. Two separate times I showed up for my physical only to be turned away due to mistakes by the staff. Once they incorrectly told me I was not covered at all and once they told me that the appointment was a day too early to be covered. Other times there were typos in forms and appointments made for the wrong doctor. Even worse than the mistakes is the delays and mishandling of complaints.

My visit was awesome. Norma at the front desk was so welcoming and sweet. The medical assistant was nice as well. Dr. Goodman was Professional and nice. Dr Gooman explained everything and took his time and did not rush.

After recently seeing Dr. Goodman for the first time for an annual checkup, I then referred him to my wife and daughter as our new family internist. When my daughter went for her check up, there was confusion as to the nature of her visit, and what should have been a correctable billing issue became a big deal for his office staff (Laura). That experience put us off, and unfortunately, we will be seeking a new family internist next year.

Goodman and Henner are good doctors. The inept office management at beach internal medicine is a real problem. I will not be returning.

I went once a year for a few years while in Long Beach, NY. It was supposed to be an annual physical covered by insurance but multiple times they ended up billing me and I ended up having to pay for things like blood taken or an EKG which should be covered. And their billing person Shana sucks and doesn't help or ever return your call. I would not recommend this hack!

I have been a patient of Dr. Goodman for over 20 years and he is a competent, dedicated thorough physician. He is also very affable and engaged.

Dr Goodman is a tough, straight shooting internist. Has helped me piece together tricky medical issues and all is good now. His office staff is also very efficient.

My wife and I use Dr. Goodman as our primary care physician because he's terrific. He's a good diagnostician, friendly, accommodating and competent, he really listens, and he admits what he doesn't know (extremely important, in our opinion). He does not pushing unnecessary and expensive testing unless medically necessary. He takes time to review reports from specialists, and tries to coordinate so, for example, we only do bloodwork once for several doctors. Recommended without reservation!

Dr. Goodman is a real professional. He's very thorough and understanding about all of the patients needs. He gets a five thumbs up from me!
