My adult son had a stroke causing his left eye to stray upward. After seeing several doctors, we were so impressed with Dr. Koty, we decided to have him do the strabismus surgery in 2014. It was a good experience and my son’s eye aligned so well.
It’s very irresponsible to review a doctor’s performance because you don’t like his receptionist. Dr. Koty has been professional and knowledgeable every time we’ve seen him. It saddens me that someone would endeavor to harm a medical doctor’s career because of a billing issue.
They will not tell you if your insurance covers the visit. I am now on the hook for 100s of dollars for a routine eye exam. Like a previous reviewer, I was informed I would be on the hook for the $60 refraction, not covered by insurance, but not the whole visit! Terrible.

I had a horrible experience with this office! Rude, unprofessional and scamming for money! They make you sign a waiver for a refraction test that is not covered by insurance and that you are responsible to pay for out of pocket, they give this to patients even if it?s not needed to get the cash! Save yourself the time and money and go see an honest opthalmologist!

Wait times for children are terrible and would not put up with it except he's a very thorough and good doctor. Appointment staff is not very good, often miscommunicates with various offices and produce numerous problems with scheduling.
