Dr. Richard Vandyke Packard

My husband went in for an emergency eye exam, Dr Packard informed him he had a detached retina and needed to have emergency surgery. He said he would get a report written up in the morning and send to his primary Dr so he could he could request the authorization needed for an opthalmologist to perform the surgery. It's now two days later and the office staff can only tell us that Dr Packard "hasn't had a chance" to write the report yet. This is my husband's vision we are talking about, he could lose his sight in that eye but they don't seem to care about that. Really disgusted with the way they are handling this.

On October 1st I took my glasses to Dr.Packard's Indian Wells office for a warranty repair. The front office staff estimated that the glasses should be ready in two or three weeks. On October 20thI called to see if they were ready and they told me that the glasses were sent to the lab October 12th. I asked them why it took over a week and a half to ship them out and was answered with "there are multiple authorizations for warranty work." Today is October 30th and the excuses have changed to "we have many customers to take care of, we will call you when they are ready."

Having relied on a number of eye Care professionals over the years, I was overwhelmed by Dr. Packard's kind attentions and impeccable professional demeanor and would recommend him at any time without hesitation

Dr Packard is a confident professional and very knowledgeable about the eye science. You can trust him and feel safe that he will let you know what your eyes really need and you'll get the appropriate treatment. He also offers generous financial aid. He has being providing care to my family for about 10 years.

My wife and I were scheduled for last Saturday at 12 pm. We showed up on time but nobody was in the office!! I called and left a voice message to call me back. We even asked the neighboring businesses if they know if any one will show up but to no avail. Unfortunately no one bothered calling us back to explain or apologize. Charges 3 times as much as the eye glasses are worth. Promised to reduce the cost, gave it to me in writing, and then called 5 days later to say the original rip off price was the best he could do. Go elsewhere. You'll be glad you did, and so will your wallet.

A man of no integrity looking for patients with thick wallets. Charges 3x the price for eyeglasses, then later agrees to a lesser price when shown how he overcharged, and then 5 days later calls to say he's changed his mind and the original ripoff price stands! Go elsewhere. There are too many other places to get glasses that stand behind their price and quality.
