I found Dr. Wilk to be great! I Thought he was thorough and had a pleasant bedside manner. He help point me in the right direction regarding my particular hip issue.

Worse doctor I’ve ever seen! Hostile, condescending, conceited and rude! Don’t waste you time seeing Him!

Dr. Wilks and his team were informative, succinct, and clear on my upcoming meniscus tear surgery. All questions answered. Dr. Wilks demonstrated deep knowledge. On the surgery, the team were extremely wonderful and supportive. The outcome was amazing. They did a superb job. Thank you.

After over a year of pain in my leg / hip and trying many avenues, Dr Wilk finally was able diagnose me with API and a labral tear. I was presented with 3 options and didn't have to rush to surgery. He's straightforward and to the point. He listens, but you're not going to get a lot of candor. I would rather stellar results. His PA is quick to answer questions via the Gateway. 1 year post surgery and I am back to my normal sports activity (although trying to cross train more) and pain free.

MY first visit, a consult , a second opinion was not what I had experienced in the past. Dr. Wilk spent time evaluating me answering all my questions and explained the plan for surgery. I had confidence in his ability to do the surgery.

I was lucky to get an appointment with Dr. Wilk after the first Doctor I met with misdiagnosed me with Arthritis. The first Doctor didn't even look at the xrays. Dr. Wilk reviewed the x-rays, diagnosed me with a cam legion and suspected a torn labrum. Once they did additional imaging, all of his diagnosis was accurate. He prescribed PT or surgery. I chose the surgery, which went well. Faulkner Hospital is like a swiss watch- in and out, no issues. Once I started going to PT, the PT (Bay State) was thoroughly impressed with the program and all of it's detail. The rehab has gone well and I am very pleased with the results. Dr. Wilk is extremely thorough, personable and I would recommend him to anyone looking for Orthopedic care.

I had hip surgery last October and just today had my 1 year check up where everything checked out and looks great. Dr Wilk has always been professional and straight forward which I appreciate. The patient outcomes speak for themselves. I would recommend Dr Wilk to anyone struggling with orthopedic issues.

Couple years ago Dr Wilk fixed my left knee and it was so awesome I didn’t even need any pain medicine after surgery. Now I injured my right knee running and I’m just waiting for him to work his magic again! As a returning customer I totally recommend him!

I have been experiencing pain in the hip area for many years. After spending a few years being treated by one group I decided to switch and made an appointment with Dr. Wilk. The first treatment gave me significant relief. Additionally, Dr. Wilk is extremely Patient Centered, listening to my concerns and my thoughts on treatment. I highly recommend him.

From my very first visit last October, Dr. Wilk listened to all my concerns and explained the details of the difficult surgical procedure I needed to repair two detached gluteus muscles at my left hip. He even kindly called my husband during the procedure to confirm the graft procedure was acceptable which was very kind. I’ve seen Dr Wilk several times since the surgery and he listened to my comments and gave me good direction regarding my recovery in a very kind manner. He has coordinated his efforts with a pain management physician and, after noting the current location of my pain, has recommended a consult with a spine surgeon, which we appreciate. My husband and I are grateful that Dr Wilk was willing to perform a difficult and complex surgery where there was a lot of damage to the muscles. Dr Wilk has always been kind and considerate to my husband and me during this difficult time. We highly recommend Dr Wilk for his kindness, excellent skills and professionalism.

Dr. Wilk is an incredible orthopedic surgeon and a wonderful person. He was recommended to me by my own local orthopedic surgeon. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, thorough, honest, efficient and caring, all while maintaining a sense of humor. I have been to many orthopedic surgeons over the years, and he is by far the best. Just Outstanding! Definitely recommend him without hesitation.

After seeing many other ortho surgeons for my very painful torn labrum (which having a previous hip arthroscopy years ago had not controlled the pain) they kept referring me out. I was finally referred to Dr. Wilk. He quickly ran his own exams (MRI’s, CT scans, etc.) to determine if he could help me. Next appointment he was very blunt and honest with my condition and what he would be able to do for me. He did not sugar coat anything (nor did I want him to). Surgery was booked. His office staff was excellent and easy to work with for scheduling and getting ahold of. Day of surgery he came to see me pre-op and assured me I would be ok. After surgery, a month out, I can truly say he changed my life. I am pain free! I haven’t been able to sleep for years due to the pain until now. If you’re looking for a doctor to hold your hand and tell you what you want to hear rather than what you need to hear then go elsewhere. I needed a great surgeon not a friend. He’s truly a great surgeon!

I had a terrific surgical experience. Dr. Wilk was great and I felt I was in good hands. He answered all my questions before the surgery and was in the PACU after my surgery. His staff is so amazing and made the whole experience so easy. His PA responds to all my questions very quick. The Faulkner staff were the the best and everything was in time.

I received a referral from a wonderful doc at BWH to see Dr. Wilk. I was hopeful that he would be equally as good despite bad reviews I read online. Much to my dismay, every person who gave this doc one star and bad reviews was exactly right. As previously stated, he was dismissive, rude, arrogant, and had a terrible bedside manner. He didn’t agree with the prior interpretations of my MRIs yet seemed unable to offer his own interpretation. Dude, aren’t you a doctor? He seemed irritated when my physical exam revealed weaknesses and was implying that I wasn’t trying hard enough. I actually called him out on talking down to me because it was so blatant and insulting. No one deserves to be treated the way he treats his patients. With that being said, I think his medical advice was fine, but his approach was so off putting that I wouldn’t recommend going to him. I left frustrated, feeling that he really didn’t care about my well-being and any of my concerns. Terrible experience.

Don’t waste your time. Go elsewhere, you’ll want a second opinion for sure!

Dr. Wilk gets zero stars from me. What a horrible rude person! I was in major pain & he didn’t care! He fat shamed me! I left his office crying. There is always a medical student that graduates last in his class. I believe Dr. Wilk was that student.

Dr. Wilks had seen a simple ex-ray of my left shoulder and then conferred with me and asked me many questions about my age and replacement of my shoulder. He thought that I was kind of young for shoulder replacement. After testing me with physical movements he decided to have more in depth ex-rays and mri's performed. He concluded that I would need a full shoulder replacement. Usually a complete shoulder replacement take 3 hours. Dr. Wilks had to spend an additional two hours on my should removing all the bone spur damage I had done to my shoulder from erosion over the years. He was helpful and informative before and after the 5 hour operation. He has changed my life. I can actually change my shirt and wash my hair or put on a coat with little or no pain now even though I am still healing. I would recommend him to anyone who needs his assistance.

My daughter has had hip pain for over a year. She finally couldn’t stand it anymore and was referred to Dr. Will. She drove 4 hours to see him and he asked her why she didn’t go back to the doctor who did her last surgery because it was on the way. He was rude and was more interested in getting home to go somewhere with his family than helping. My daughter overheard him on the phone saying he was waiting for his last patient to leave so he could head home. Did you forget the oath you took? She cried as she left your dark office void of staff. Thanks for nothing.

Visited Dr Wilk's for shoulder issues Dec of 19 & Mar of 20. Had MRI and X rays at Brigham's before the Appointment. Dr Wilk's explained what the MRI was showing and all my options and gave me the referrals needed for physical therapy. All my questions were answered in terms easy to understand. He gave me exercises to do on my own. I highly recommend Dr Wilk's he is extremely informative and easy to talk with.

Dr Wilk, from day-one, was completely professional in words and actions--Any trepidation II had before the procedure was assuaged--I have about 99% movement in my shoulder and it feels great

I had a great experience with Dr. Wilk and his staff in Foxboro. I had a torn labram and needed surgery to repair it. The office is very professional. Dr. Wilk and his staff do a great job. I felt well taken care of by Dr Wilk and he was able to help me understand the surgery and what I would have to do post surgery. X-rays were in house and very little office waiting in between the nurse, the doctor and the xrays. Everything about the day surgery was smooth. Surgery was at 7am and I was home by noon. I would recommend his service to anyone needing to head down this path. I am recovering well and following the doctor's orders and look forward to a full recovery and getting back to my active lifestyle.

Over a year ago, I was in severe pain with my hip. I was referred to Dr. Wilk and he was extremely thorough in explaining and working with me to figure out the best solution to getting me walking without pain. After surgery and several months of PT, I had my one year anniversary post-hip surgery appointment today with Dr. Wilk and I am happy to say I am pain-free!

Saw Dr Wilk in June for a Left Rotator Cuff repair and have been very happy. Pre-treatment went very well and I felt as if my concerns were all completely addressed pre-surgery. On the day of the surgery, everything went perfectly and I experienced very little pain Post Surgery. On my follow up, Dr Wilk showed me exactly what he needed to do to repair my shoulder. PT was successful and I am returning to work tomorrow with full confidence in the repair. I can highly recommend Dr Wilk if you have any shoulder issues.

He was the one doctor that scheduled me in to see him within a week.He listened to my situation with my hip.The pain was a killer more than a 10 more like 20.I could not move unless I held on to something.I brought a MRI with me and he spent over 5 minutes studying it.I had a Hip Labral Tear and every doctor said I was to old to do anything. I'm 82 and in excellent shape.

Today I had my one year anniversary post-hip surgery appointment with Dr. Wilk. As always, he was fully attentive and truly showed he cares about me and the pain, which has improved tremendously. He did a superb job on my hip, which in turn has helped with my chronic back and knee pain. He warned me it would be a lot of work during my 6 months of rehabilitative therapy, but the work paid off and I’m feeling positive moving forward. I highly recommend Dr. Wilk if you need hip surgery. He’s great to work with and keeps things moving in a positive and honest direction. He’s a great surgeon and very friendly guy!

I found Dr. Wilk to be attentive and informative. I was satisfied with the time he spent with me and his explanation of my situation. I actually found that he provided me with more information and insight than the orthopedic that referred me to him. I certainly do not agree with other reviewers that commented negatively on his bedside manner, which by the way is far less important than his medical experience. I would highly recommend him as an orthopedic.

I came to Dr. Wilk for a second opinion and was very satisfied. I greatly appreciate his approach. He is direct and to the point. He picked up on things that the first doctor hadn’t even discussed with me. I’m 100% confident I’m in good hands and appreciate his approach.

Dr Wilk performed shoulder replacement surgery for me, and did an excellent job. He is a very skilled surgeon, and I’m recovering well. His office is busy, and efficient, and I’ve had an excellent overall experience.

This was my second appointment with Dr. Wilk. I was less than satisfied with his bedside manner on the first visit, but was willing to try again since I have always experienced a high standard of care from the physicians at B&W. This visit was even more disappointing than the first. Dr.Wilk became angry and was rude and hostile in his approach to me when I repeated to him something that I had been told by other members of his own practice. He was not in agreement with their opinion.

Dr. Wilk lacked emotional intelligence, evident by his arrogant, uncaring manner. When I told him I felt a little uncomfortable being touched where my pain was, he made a callous and wildly inappropriate “joke” that in the moment I was too flabbergasted to properly respond to- but my best response was choosing another doctor to go to for surgery. He is clearly uncaring, with terrible bedside manner.

Extremely pleased with the process leading up to surgery. The first appointment was quick and left me unsure. I wasn't used to a doctor being so straightforward and to the point. But with the follow-up appointments and recommendations for surgery, I felt very trusting and extremely confident in Dr. Wilk and his recommendations. His demeanor before I was wheeled into surgery made me feel even more comfortable that I was in good hands. Very pleased with my recovery! He is fantastic!

I saw Dr. Wilk on 3 occasions. I should of know he was going to be a problem when during my 1st appointment a patient came running out of exam area saying she will never see him again and how awful a doctor he was. I figured the patient was just high maintenance so, though I was nervous I gave him a try. He is a typical surgeon who thinks he’s god. He doesn’t want to hear about pass diagnosis and testing from other doctors. Doesnt want to accept the Interpretation of my MRI from BWH radiology.

I recently had hip surgery with Dr. Wilk. Two weeks later and the pain I have dealt with over the past year and a half is virtually gone. Dr. Wilk is easy to work with but the process can be challenging. Pain is very personal and we all want a quick solution but you have to put faith in Dr. Wilk’s expertise and work with him. This is his job and he’s the professional and in my opinion a good person. For those with personality conflicts, my advice, love yourself and move on.

He has a really horrible bedside manner. I’m fine with a doctor not being super friendly, as long as they offer great medical care. I cannot say I feel as if Dr Wilk provides even mediocre care, at best. He made it seem like my pain was no big deal and made several rude comments to me throughout my visit. I think he is a true surgeon and downplays anything not needing surgery. I am left feeling confused, without medical guidance despite paying my copay to see a doctor. Ridiculous.

Dr. Wilk was informative, helpful and friendly. His expertise was evident. He took the time to explain the situation with my hip and the options. Unfortunately, my hip is too far gone for him to help but he laid out the options and some of the pros and cons associated with those options.

Dr. Wilk had not reviewed any of my file or my images. He interacted with my body roughly during the physical exam. He explained my hip issues fairly well but acted completely skeptical of my history of medial knee dislocations despite my Ehlers-Danlos diagnosis. He spent about five minutes in the room. His attitude seemed to be either the person needs drastic surgery or they aren't worth his time.

I suffered with hip problems and pain for years. I saw numerous physicians who were not comfortable operating on what ultimately appeared to be numerous co-occurring conditions. Dr. Wilk was comfortable and confident in performing arthroscopic surgery. Not only is my hip better, but my lower back pain (which had been attributed to scoliosis) is markedly improved as the surgery alleviated referred pain. He is patient, thorough and kind.

I've been suffering hip pain for 17 years after a car accident. In Oct 2017 the pain and stiffness became unbearable. My doctor recommended me to Dr. Wilk and I'm so very glad he did! Dr. Wilk is compassionate and did everything he could to help me. I'm still recovering from the surgery but I am the most pain free I have been in years and no longer need any pain medicine for the first time in forever. I highly recommend Dr. Wilk to anyone looking for a dedicated skilled orthopedic doctor.

I traveled a distance to have Dr Wilk 'clean up' my knee that has had problems for some time. I had previously been told by other orthos there was 'nothing' they could do. Wilk cleaned up the joint, stopped the 'click' and took away almost all pain. The knee will never be 100% - too bad Wilk didn't get it first before others ruined it. Nice guy - INCREDIBLE nurses and support staff. Day surgery team were the BEST!

Doctor wilk is far by the best surgeon he gets to the point and makes you feel comfortable! His surgical staff made me feel comfortable I had a great experience pre op and post op!

I had read all of the reviews and thought Dr. Wilk would be a great choice for my knee pain. I don't know who these people saw but the Dr. Wilk I met was a condescending jackass! He was abrupt spent 3 minutes with me upon our first meeting. I won't waste my time going into his arrogance and non existent bed side manner. I've changed physicians any doctor who tells you that you couldn't possibly be "in that much pain" with a torn meniscus and knee sprain run don't walk, no wonder he had openings!

Super smart and thorough! Listened to symptoms, activities, etc. and didn't jump to conclusions but instead formulated a well thought out diagnosis and clearly explained everything he was seeing to help develop a clear path forward for treatment. Open to questions and help explain so I was comfortable before I walked out the door. Highly recommend.

Dr. Wilk did an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair on my left shoulder five weeks ago. Because of the care he took in surgery and the experience of the other surgical team members I can say that I would recommend them to all who need this procedure. From the second week post op I've had unlimited range-of-motion, and been pain free since the day after surgery therefore having no need for pain meds which in my mind has made my recovery all the more positive.

I took my daughter to Dr. Wilk for a consultation for an ongoing MCL and meniscus issue. He was very professional and approachable. Ended up not needing surgery, but was very impressed with Dr. Wilk's knowledge and disposition.

I have been seeing Dr.Wilk for about 20 years now for many orthopedic issues and he has been very professional and compassionate to me and my family. I have had many surgeries done by him and had complete recovery with no problems at all from them. Myself and my mother have been fit in many times for issues that needed to be seen fast. He is one of the most caring doctors I have ever had and would Highly recommend him!

Dr. Wilk operated on my knee after I had a ski accident- I had completely torn my ACL and partially torn my MCL and miniscus. His personal attention and expertise made the experience the best it could be! Thanks to him, I am back to skiing and playing tennis! I am grateful to him for fixing my knee - so professional and kind. I knew just what to expect from the process as he explained it all clearly. I would recommend him whole heartedly!!

Dr Wilkes is unbelieveable. The whole process from beginning to end Dr Wilkes and his staff did everything in their power to make it easy for me. Dr Wilk is an amazing doctor. He changed my life, literally, with my knee replacement. His confidence was so reassuring. I sustained a complicated shoulder injury. I visited 2 physicians, but they were unable to help me. The 2nd doctor I saw recommended her colleague, Dr. Wilk. She told me, " I would go to him. " Her NP reiterated, he is excellent. When another MD and an NP have that kind of confidence in a surgeon, I knew I wanted to see him! He patiently explained the surgery, complications & recovery. Lenore Delgrosso NP works w/ him..she is kind & knowledgeable. I'm grateful for their expert care.
