Dr. Rick A Friedman

Had surgery on right ear for middle ear bone and the doctor messed up the surgery. Had to look for another doctor and go in for surgery again.

Dr. Friedman is one of the best surgeons ever. He has one of the best bedside manners you can ever imagine. He never rushes out of the room and takes time to answer your questions. He is the best!

This guy is the biggest self absorbed doctor or person ive ever encountered! He totally dismissed my problems except to say ohhhh u have a bit of a collapsed eardrum so that took all of 5 minutes after i went through getting an mri and getting an appointment which took 2 months and then once i get there he says “well it’s not looking as serious for me to care about it” like he only cares about major obvious problems he can operate on?! What a piece, i had a serious unknown issue to my ear and he just dismissed me in 5 minutes meanwhile his students taking notes, this guys a self absorbed piece of you know what,,,, never gave me any advice on what i should do or help my problem, I’ve never had a doctor do dismissing and rude as him, STAY AWAY

In December 2009 I found out I had a tumor AN type tumor. He was one of my doctors during this surgery. I have hearing because he knew what to do. I was hoping to locate him for a follow up. This year they found new growth and I had radiation. Just to make sure everything is ok since he last seen me. He is a great doctor and surgeon.

Dr. Friedman is an endangered species of surgeon. He is not just a phenomenal surgeon but he is also a phenomenal person. He is communicative, kind, carefully explains everything, keeps you updated, and genuinely cares and loves what he does. Kristine, his patient coordinator, is also one of a kind and I consider myself blessed to have such responsive and wonderful people to help me navigate such a very scary and confusing time. He not just quickly but also thoughtfully figured out a complex radiologic finding that I had that stumped many and went above and beyond to triple check.

Dr. Friedman and his entire staff are the best. Both visits I was seen on time , all questions answered, procedure completed, and I was on my way home. They all deserve 10 gold stars.

Dr. Friedman (with his side kick Dr. Schwartz) are the top Acoustic Neuroma team in CA! Patient care and service are his top priority. He even generously gives his time to people out of the area with free consultations by phone! Highly recommend him for treatment of AN's.

I am from the Boston area and met with three specialists after being diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma. I was not comfortable with two of them. I liked the third doctor, but he had done <100 of these surgeries and I heard you should find someone with lots of experience with these tumors, which are in a class of their own. Luckily, I was put in touch with Dr. Friedman. He is the best doctor I have ever had. Surgical times are shorter, and he really cares about his patients. He is the best!

He came off very assured of himself and very rude. He toss me away saying because I had a bone marrow disease aplastic anemia he wasn't going to do any surgery on my Mastroid surgery and that I seem fine and get over it. Because of hisnot doing the surgery and I having to wait again for appointment and going to another doctor at ucla who would do my surgery by that time the infection spread in my Mastroid to where the whole bone had to be taking out Had dr. Friedman did it then it not be so bad

Dr Friedman removed an Acoustic Neuroma from my husband in May of 2011. We came from Louisiana to California for the procedure. We have never regretted that decision one time. He is not only the best doctor in his field but his compassion and care goes above and beyond what I ever expected. The same can be said for his staff. Susan East

Dr. Friedman and his staff are top notch! Last year I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma Brain Tumor. I was terrified and didn't know much and he eased my fear. I flew all the way from Dallas to get care from an expert and I am glad I did. To this day Dr. Friedman still participates in my after surgery care and works with my local doctors. He cares about his patients and is there for you when you need him, even on weekends. He is simply the best doctor I've ever had.
