Dr. Robert Joseph Dornauer

Appointment to surgically remove 4 wisdom teeth and surgically erupt a slow moving molar. Only in network with 1 dental plan and neither of mine were it. $4400 and 6 months later, the surgically erupted molar is DEAD and I had to spend more $$ to consult with an Endodontist and then even more $$ to another oral surgeon (different surgeon) to have the tooth extracted. According to the Endodontist and new Oral Surgeon, the tooth should have been pulled from the beginning due to space issues (my daughter's mouth is very small) there was 100% NO DECAY on the tooth, and I was told the tooth most likely died due to "trauma" from the surgery. I am furious. Also, when you walk in the office you're hit from every angle, in every room with Dr's professionally framed "amateur photography" hobby on the walls and dvd reels on the waiting room TV from all his worldly travels playing nonstop- obviously my $4400 will be well spent on Dr's world travels.

Everyone in the office was very friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Dornauer did a great job. ! The way he explained the procedure was very comforting. Would recommend.

I was told to return in 1 hour to pick up my son. Have been waiting 45 minutes for someone to come out to car and talk to me. I even called in to make sure he was okay. I am glad that I read the reviews after I made my appointment because I felt something were not right . The woman answered my call were very rude . Just called and canceled my appointment . How can they allow someone like her to answer calls ??? smh

Avoid this place at all costs. I had oral surgery back in 2018 to get 3 wisdom teeth removed. After surgery my tongue was very numb for almost a month. I went to see my dentist and turns out I have nerve damage in my tongue from the surgery. It's been 2 years and the right side of my tongue is still numb from the surgery. Eating food and talking hasn't been the same since. I cannot stress this enough, please find somewhere else for oral surgery. Avoid this place at all costs. Dental surgeries are stressful at a minimum and petrifying at a maximum--that's not including the complexities of insurance involving very expensive procedures. Office staff should really be trained on how to communicate effectively and kindly to patients. Another reviewer said it best that kindness goes a long way.

I went to Dr. Dornauer after three other practitioners failed to either diagnose or comfort me concerning a problem with my pallet. Everyone in his office was courteous, friendly and kind. I was seen promptly and the office was in top notch. clean and safe condition. Again, his staff was extremely friendly and did a lot to put me at ease. Dr. Dornauer himself was knowledgeable and talked me out of a pointless and painful as well as expensive procedure as well as answered all questions that other practitioners failed to answer. I went to Dr. Dornauer for a problem with my pallet than the prior 3 doctors could not explain or offer any guidance on. His office staff was the height of polite and friendly. Everything about the visit made me feel comfortable and he steered me away from doing a painful and costly procedure for no reason. I would definitely recommend his practice for any friends or family.

Let me preface, difficulty scheduling was due to COVID-19. Unpleasant, painful and rushed dental visits have left me with anxiety. My initial exam revealed Dr Dornauer to be knowledgeable and professional. The day of my procedure the staff, from the front end, to the techs, to the assistants and Dr Dornauer were pleasant, caring and comforting. If a dental procedure could be described as great....this would be it. Personally, gratefully, I've no complaints and cannot say enough of the appreciation I have for Dr. Dornauer. With no hesitation I will refer my family and friends to him.

The front staff are RUDE beyond comprehension.

I couldn’t even get in for an appointment for three weeks even though I told Cheryl I was in pain every day and had to take medicine just to get through the day and I am barely able to eat anything because it hurts so much. I’m forced to go elsewhere.

The best quality in oral surgery. Highly recommend. If you need your wisdom teeth out, come here! Staff is well-informed, the building is clean, and I was treated with respect! Thank you Dr. Dornauer and staff!

Dr. Dornauer and his staff (Monica) get a 10 +..from me. I wish all Dr.s and staff were able to show how much they really care.... as this office did.

Very professional and knowledgeable. I have had 4 implants put in by Dr. Dornauer in the last 12 years.

Several years ago, I had a great experience with Dr. Dornauer. I had several impacted wisdom teeth that needed removal, along with some sleep apnea related issues that I neglected for years. Dr. Dornauer knew exactly what to do and took care of everything. I found him very professional and caring in our interactions.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had just woken up from wisdon teeth surgery and opened one eye and they tried to get me up and I fell face down on the floor. Then they tossed me back on the seat and let me halfway wake up for another five minutes before pushing me out the door. As we walked to my car they pushed me and my boyfriend had to catch me and carry me to the car. Absolutely worst service of my life. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Dr. Dornhauer himself, did a great job on our surgeries /extractions. However, Cheryl in the front.... She's just one of those mean, ugly old women no one wants to ever deal with ANYWHERE. When we've spent $2,000 + plus there, and with the sensitivity of their job, kindness takes you a long way. She's evil. I wonder how Dr feels about her turning away repeat customers instead of discussing things over with him. Talk to Cathy if you can. She's not evil. I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Dorneaur and was caused permanent nerve damage. His reckless surgery left my lingual nerve damaged resulting in numbness in my tounge. After surgery I tried contacting the dentist and received no reply, Dr. Dorneaur and his employees were very unhelpful and unprofessional. I would not recommend seeing Dr. Dornauer for any reason. The lady behind the counter is not very personable and seems to just want your money immediately. Barely says, hello before mentioning they haven't heard from your insurance company yet. The assistants are friendly though. Doctor kept repeating the same, mono-tonic sentence each time that I asked a question.
