It's been almost two years since I've had my rhinoplasty and I initially went in because I didn't like how my nose looked and wanted to change it and came out finding out it had been fractured in two places. After my surgery I can wholeheartedly say I have never been so confident and happy in myself. I am so happy i decided to go with Dr.Guida not only is he specialized in facial surgery which makes him so much more reliable but his treatment and staff are so understanding and lovely. They made sure I was comfortable and stayed comminicated with me throughout my whole experience. Dr. Guida started changing my life for the better (the much, muCH, MUCH BETTER!!!) since 2005. We all deserve to love ourselves, and how we look (to ourselves even more than to others!!) is part of healthy self-love. Without self-love inner growth isn’t fully possible. I heard about Dr. Guida through a friend who had used him. My friend had nothing but good things to say, so I decided to book a consultation for my nose. Next thing I knew I was booking my surgery. Dr. Guida knew what I wanted before even telling him. After meeting him and his staff, I knew he was the doctor I wanted to do my surgery. I had my surgery in May and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’ve always been self conscious of my nose and have had breathing issues all my life. Now I’m about a month and half post-op and feel amazing. I’m beyond happy with the results. Not only has my breathing improved, but I feel like I’ve gained my confidence back. It looks incredibly natural, and I feel so much more confident. Dr. Guida and his team are caring, friendly, and informative, they even called the day after my surgery to make sure I was doing ok! I was referred to Dr. Guida by a former co-worker about 4 years ago. I had trouble with my sinus and breathing for a long time and I had a closed airway. I went to Dr. Guida hoping he would be of some relief to me. He came in the room and I just had a positive vibe right from the start. He had good energy and I liked his confidence. I simply had a good feeling about him. His staff was also wonderful to me throughout the whole process. From scheduling appointments and making important decisions concerning my health and appearance, they were all really there for and and I knew they had my best interest. I got my surgery within weeks of meeting with Dr. Guida. I put my trust in him and I knew he would make me look and feel great. He exceeded all of my expectations not only physically, but I can finally breath and my allergies have subsided a great deal since my surgery. Dr. Robert Guida recently performed cosmetic surgery on both my upper and lower eyelids. He also used a CO2 Laser to resurface my facial skin. Dr. Guida spent time ascertaining my expectations and discussing the probable outcomes of my surgery. He was warm, considerate and a thoughtful listener. He answered every question I had in professional, yet eminently understandable, language. He inspired me with great confidence in his abilities, and I am most pleased to say that I am absolutely delighted with the results of my surgery! Upon seeing a picture of me taken last week, one of my friends said “I’m next”! The entire experience I had with Dr. Guida’s practice was excellent. I live on Staten Island, N.Y., and was able to utilize Dr. Guida’s consult office in that borough for my initial visit and all post operative visits. The surgery itself took place in a well equipped, sparkling surgical suite in Dr. Guida’s Park Avenue office. Dr. Guida’s colleague, Dr. Friedman met and spoke with me prior to the day of my surgery to discuss a health issue and my particular anesthesia requirements. I felt totally comfortable on the day of surgery due to the fact that I had met and conversed with both doctors prior to the operation. Prior to entering the surgical suite, I was also introduced to Barbara, Surgical Nurse, who was to be in attendance during my surgery. After the surgery, I was able to return to my home to rest and heal. I had no pain and healed quickly. My stitches were taken out on Staten Island one week later. My eye lids were only very slightly swollen, and the redness from the laser treatment almost gone, when I had my one month follow up visit today. In addition to Dr. Guida’s clinical expertise, competence and caring, the efficiency, concern and consideration of his nurses and staff in both offices is a major plus! After suffering from breathing difficulties my entire life, I decided that it was time to make a change. Not only did I have trouble breathing, but I also had a nose that was not aesthetically pleasing, and I was always self conscious about it. I would hide my nose in any way, with any angle that I could. For my own wedding I made sure that not have any side profile shots. So I went to see Dr. Guida. I found him myself after researching online. The first time I met him, Dr. Guida was very pleasant and friendly. He was understanding of my situation and promised me that he can not only help me breathe (my sinuses were 99% blocked and I had a deviated septum), and that he could fix the shape of my nose. My surgery was completed a few days before Christmas. His office and surgical suite are very clean and comfortable. His staff is extremely caring. My surgery went well and I went home the same day to rest and relax. When I was finally able to get the splint off I was in complete and utter shock. My nose (even though it was still swollen) looked beautiful! It has been 3 months since my surgery. My husband says I no longer snore (I used to snore terribly) and I don't wake up through the night a million times anymore. I can breathe better, taste better, smell better, and I am happy with how I look. I am no longer self conscious. Stay away from Dr. Guida! He's an inferior, negligent & dishonest surgeon who ruined my nose. I had to pay nearly $30,000 to have another doctor fix all of Guida's functional & cosmetic damage. His practice manager, Christy, is equally dishonest & unethical. One of the reasons I chose Guida was his favorable patient reviews, which I had assumed were unsolicited and devoid of conflicts of interest. However, I later discovered after the damage was done that Christy asked her Facebook friends to give Guida the highest 5-star rating on his Facebook business page. I then noticed that Guida received 30 glowing reviews on March 31, 2014, the same day she posted her request. I went to Guida for a revision rhinoplasty & septoplasty. My experience & results were horrible. I was a complicated case, & Guida failed to acknowledge that fact, admit his limitations & turn me away, & adequately prepare for my surgery. Other doctors I consulted told me that because I have thick nasal skin, my nose would require more support from rib cartilage grafts. They estimated I would need 5-6 hours of surgery. When I met with Guida, he didn't provide much information or show me any computer imaging, but he said he could do my surgery in 2 hours & I wouldn't require grafts. I was surprised & skeptical given that he contradicted what other doctors told me. I asked him if he was sure he could do the surgery, especially in so little time & without grafts. He seemed "put off" that I was questioning his judgment & assured me he could. He created an air of authority, credibility & trust, so I eventually felt relieved that I wouldn't require rib surgery & he could do the procedure in less than half the time as other doctors. Unfortunately, I lacked better judgment at the time & ignored warning signs because he told me what I wanted to hear. I figured that because he was a Park Avenue surgeon, he knew what he was talking about & nothing would go wrong. Clearly, I was mistaken. Guida badly damaged my nose. He removed so much cartilage that my nose became deformed, disfigured & dysfunctional. There was no longer adequate structural support to keep my nasal passages open, so they collapsed. I could barely breathe & would often wake myself up gasping for air. Guida drew from his "handbook of excuses," telling me that it is sometimes normal not to be able to breathe as well after a rhinoplasty. However, since I've had my nose fixed by another doctor, I know that is untrue. I had a poor surgical outcome because Guida does not have adequate skills, enough ongoing education & training, & dedication to effectively perform more involved or complicated rhinoplasty surgeries, such as revisions that require rib or ear cartilage grafts. Furthermore, Guida did not adequately prepare & allow enough time for my procedure. My surgery lasted less than 2 hours at his office & was delayed until late in the afternoon following other patients' procedures. Just to compare: My current doctor, who fixed my nose, spent at least 5 hours on my surgery that began at noon, & I was his only surgical patient of the day. After Guida did my surgery, I was in recovery for no longer than 30-45 minutes. I was still groggy & nauseous from the anesthesia when the nurse came in, told me to get dressed & rushed me out the door. Neither Guida nor any of his staff ever called me in the following days to check on my well-being. It was express, assembly-line surgery at its worst. As Guida & I had discussed in the consultation, he was supposed to do an open rhinoplasty, which is more effective for revisions and complicated cases like mine. However, he not only did not bother to do this longer procedure, he then lied to me by claiming he did. I regretfully chose Dr. Guida because he was on a “Top Doctors” list. However, upon doing research after his two botched surgeries, I found out that these lists are unreliable and not credible, so beware! My experience with Dr. Guida was a nightmare! Dr. Guida, I saw you a *really* long time ago when I had quite a bad ear blockage - which you cleared up quickly and painlessly. You were extremely kind and gracious in the process. Now I need my left ear repaired because it's been badly torn; I'll be giving you a shout soon! Glad to see you're still around!

Full disclosure-I do work for Dr. Guida and if you know anything about me or the practice, then you do know that I am also a patient and all of my words are true. My husband is a patient, my sister, my sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, 4 cousins, niece, 8 of my closest life-long friends and 2 of their husbands and so on. I do not say these things because I get a paycheck to do so. On the contrary. I say these things and allow patients to view my photos and even call me on my private cell phone number so that I may tell them about my experience and give helpful healing tips because I am so happy and want to share that experience with them. If my surgery was not successful, I would not be willing to share nor would I recommend him to my family and friends at risk of losing them. No paycheck is worth that. All that being said, here is my original review: Over the years, I've had many procedures done by Dr. Guida and while everything he's ever done, from blepharoplasty and laser resurfacing to botox and fillers, even removing lesions for biopsy leaving no scar behind, what I am most appreciative of is the surgery he performed on my husband. As a 9/11 first responder, my husband suffered upper respiratory issues that worsened over the years. Eventually diagnosed with chronic sinusitis, his life consisted of antibiotics every 6 weeks, constant breathing difficulties, headaches, eye pain, face pain, mouth breathing, snoring and sleep apnea. He had Septoplasty and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in 2013 and his life (and mine!!) was changed completely. While his sinus disease and the damage done to the lining of his respiratory system will be with him for the rest of his life, his symptoms are so improved that he just recently got his first antibiotic prescription in almost 4 years and it wasn't even for a sinus infection, but a slight case of bronchitis!! His headaches are gone. He can breathe through his nose again. His snoring has been cut in half and his is able to live a comfortable life again. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Guida for recognizing the severity of this issue and immediately getting to work to make his life so much better. We have since referred other police/fire department friends with similar issues and he has gone out of his way to take care of every single one of them. We currently live in Florida and have even referred someone who was willing to travel to NYC to have surgery! He is an amazing doctor, calm, compassionate, caring and very talented. I recently went through rhinoplasty with dr G! He was so caring and gentle and I had all my questions answered . I had barely any pain after surgery and was feeling great just 2 days later ! It has been 4 months since Dr. Guida has corrected my deviated septum and performed a blepharoplasty on me. I have started writing this review a million times, but adequate words evade me. How do you describe your experience and review a person who has changed your life in not just one way but in two? Since childhood I have suffered severe headaches that weren't quite migraines but came so close. They took over my life for days and sometimes weeks at a time. When my last, and notice I say LAST, headache lasted a month and no doctor, no hospital could give me an answer, a friend asked "WHAT ABOUT SINUSES?" So I had my CT scan done, and there was no question which doctor I would turn to for a consultation. Dr. Guida reviewed my scan and after a diagnosis I made a choice to go through with the surgery. Another thing that has always bothered me, and I was conscious of since I was a young girl were my heavy upper eye lids. I hated looking in the mirror, refused to take photographs and would feel uncomfortable talking with people because I felt that the one thing they would notice would be my droopy eyes. So I would overcompensate by constantly walking around with my eye brows lifted. It was exhausting honestly. And when going through the millions of photographs of my three kids, I could only find a handful with me in them. It saddened me beyond words. So once again I turned to Dr. Guida. From my initial contact with Dr. Guida's wonderful and knowledgeable staff, to my consultation and the surgeries it was an amazing experience. Dr. Guida with his soft and quiet confidence has made me feel at ease and I trusted him to make me better physically and mentally. Following the surgeries my recovery was swift and nearly pain free. So here I am, 4 months after my surgeries, headache free (YAY!!!) and looking and feeling at least 10 years younger. I am one week post op, and dealing with Dr Guida and his team has been an amazing experience from the beginning. His staff is so kind and accomodating. Dr Guida is organized, thorough, meticulous and kind. The day of my procedure everyone made me feel at ease and post op, i was called and checked on by many members of the staff to ensure i was recovering well. My experience with Dr. Guida and his staff has been exceptional. I am 43 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I have not liked my nose, which was crooked as a result of unilateral cleft lip. I thought about changing the look of my nose since I was 11. It took years and a lot of planning before I was finally able to do it at the age of 25. Dr. Guida was referred to me by a close friend and I spoke to several others who had an experience with him. I heard nothing but positivity. I finally met Dr. Guida and I immediately felt comfortable. I didn’t feel pressure or heightened insecurity about myself while talking about one of my biggest insecurities. I was met with professionalism and what felt like to me as empathy for my position. I felt like he was able to understand what I wanted my nose to look like. He encouraged me to seek other consultations because it was my first time doing a procedure like this. I saw 3 other doctors that were incomparable to Dr. Guida. Other doctors gave me what in my opinion looked like a generic nose job (overt slope and lift) on a computer screen, wrote the price down on a piece of paper and then immediately asked me when I would like to book my surgery. Dr. Guida met me with professionalism and respect. He did not come off as pushy and for me that was very important. I feel that I was in a vulnerable position looking for a change and I was ready but in order to make the right decision I needed time to discern which doctor I wanted and who I could trust with my FACE. My goal was not to change my look entirely (I didn’t want a small nose that didn’t fit my face) I wanted to maintain my natural look but I wanted a smaller, straighter, more feminine nose. Not only has this medically improved her quality of life, it has given her more confidence than ever before. I took my 15 year old daughter to Dr. Guida because she suffers from chronic migraine and at her last MRI, she had a WHOLE LOT of stuff going on with her sinuses. She had a deviated septum, a concha bulosa, polyps and a bump on her nose.....probably from a cheerleading injury. Dr.Guida and his staff were very welcoming and professional. The day her surgery was scheduled was a terrible snowstorm, but Dr. Guida didn't cancel. Unfortunately, the surgery didn't help her migraines, but she is breathing much better, no longer "mouth breathing" at night and loves that she no longer has a crooked nose with a bump. After the surgery, Dr. Guida and his staff were available to answer any questions and she has had several follow-up visits that were timely and informative.
