Robert Cecil Umberhandt

He was dismissive, bad bed side manners, and acted like I did not understand basic science when I brought up concerns. I got a x-ray during my appointment and I overheard him talking about me to another medical profession without my consent, and he was being dismissive as well. He said to me at the end of the meeting, “Sorry to meet you,” after a meeting where I felt he was also being passive aggressive throughout the whole time. I recommend Legacy, but not Dr. Umberhandt.

Dr. Bob is very thorough and detailed with his patients. Truth and honesty is what you need, but sometimes the truth is hard to hear. We appreciate Dr. Bob’s truthfulness about our sons injury and future limitations. His PA Courtney was equally as thorough during the process.

We've been so glad to work with Legacy. All the staff, until now, have shown care and competency. Dr. Umberhandt single-handly made an athletic, diligent, hard-working kid feel like he had done everything wrong and should have known better (except for the MRI not having contrast; that was put on 'non-specialist physicians'). He asked no questions and gave so few answers my spouse, an ER nurse, couldn't confidently discern what his diagnosis was. He may be a very talented surgeon. We have seen Dr Umberhandt for most of my daughter's life. He has been very sweet, funny, and thorough. He was recommended to us by a former patient who assured us he would be everything he has been. He has taken such great care with our daughter that he caught a very rare genetic condition in our daughter that several other specialists had missed. We trust him fully, he chose our daughter's safety over an easy surgery and we will be forever thankful!

He was/is an excellent Doctor! Very witty and helpful in calming my 6 year olds nerves about having an elbow surgery. He even had me laughing several times throughout our many different appointments. He made my son's traumatic experience that much more palpable. He did an excellent job on my son's surgery! I would highly recommend him!
