Dr. Rodney Wayne Benner

Unfortunately I have had to meet with 4 surgeons about my knee injury and each of them has been extremely helpful and had good timely advice with the exception of Dr Benner. He is very uncomfortable to have a conversation with. He goes many weeks without contact and without direction. He does not seem to have much care for me as a person coping with a injury and wanting solutions. A direct quote verbatim “I don’t care about your function or pain.” As he expressed that the only benchmarks that matter to him were the measurements on paper. While I understand a surgeon using those benchmarks as part of their care, it is reasonable to also expect a surgeon to care about your functioning and your pain. (For example, being able to perform normal daily life tasks) The only star Dr Benner gets is for his wonderful staff. I considered staying under his care just because of this staff (PT Darla especially) but ultimately, Dr Benner made me so uncomfortable, hopeless, and kept me waiting several months for a surgery that my current surgeon was able to explain, advise on, and schedule within a week. Unfortunately I have had to meet with 4 surgeons about my knee injury and each of them has been extremely helpful and had good timely advice with the exception of Dr Benner. He is very uncomfortable to have a conversation with. He goes many weeks without contact and without direction. Dr Benner is an exceptional doctor. I was hesitant to have knee surgery & he explained the details well. It’s not an easy surgery. Because he was able to set my mind at ease before the first knee replacement I did very well at recuperating & rehabilitation. After the second one. He is professional, friendly, & a perfectionist !

Dr. Benner did my revision surgery 4 weeks ago and I can bend my leg at 97 before surgery I was bending at 95 and that was 1 1/2 years after my first surgery. Dr. Benner know what to do to minimize your pain. Dr. Benner is the best, if I could give him 10 stars I would.

Dr Benner performed a total knee replacement on me several years ago. The replacement device was larger than required and protrudes. My knee is very loose and it slips and causes pain while I sleep which requires me to wear a tight wrap. The physical therapy at his office was inadequate. The proprietary piece of equipment he rented me was expensive, caused significant pain and hurt my knee more than it helped. I also developed DVT blood clots following surgery as his blood thinning recommendation was completely inadequate. I would not recommend Dr Benner to anyone and agree with a previous reviewer that he was rude and arrogant. My advise is to stay as far away from his practice as possible

Dr Benner replaced my knee 2 years ago. I had problems during recovery. He refused to address them. He was rude and arrogant. Stay away.

This has been the worse experience I have ever had with a doctor, and I am not kidding. I owe so much money and I am worse off that ever before. Thank you for nothing except more pain and less money to pay for treatments that did nothing! I followed up for additional opinions and they even questioned the path Dr. Benner took.

Dr Benner replaced both of my knees and the outcome was outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone to him and wouldn't let anyone in my family go to anyone else.
