If you or your loved ones need an oncologist do not have Dr. Kapoor treat them, that's all I am going to say. Thank you
I went there because I had a severe blood clot20 minutes

Dr. Kapoor and his team have been most efficient, kind, and compassionate. They have gone out of their way to accommodate schedules. Helpful with coordinating with insurance. I appreciate how Dr. Kapoor has designed and modified the treatment plans to adjust to my needs. There is a homelike family feel to the operation with plenty of open-door communication.
Dr. Kapoor deals with my crazy anxieties with admirable calm, and answers my questions in plain language. One thing that I have learned during my cancer journey is that understanding what is happening is just as important as being treated. People are terrified when they have to see an oncologist; Dr. Kapoor does try to help ease some of that fear.
For DA-EPOCH treatment of my dad's NHL Dr Kapoor did not appear to understand that dose adjustment (DA) is to compensate for variable clearance rates of the chemo agents. I just had a few minutes to talk to Dr Kapoor at my dad's end of life, but it is hard to imagine another way to interpret his comments. I would strongly recommend choosing another oncologist or getting a second opinion if you or a family member need treatment for NHL. Dr Kapoor saw me on an emergency appointment. Dr Kapoor & the entire staff has continued to be outstanding as I continue to be treated. Dr Kapoor answered all my questions and was very responsive to my condition. I highly recommend this entire practice.
Have requested my bloodwork results for 3 months and am ignored. Cannot get hold of doctor. Left messages with answer service, gone to office, no one will help. Cannot get hold of doctor. I have retained an attorney.
My dad went, under Dr. Kapoor's care, from a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) without central nervous system (CNS) involvement to dying from secondary CNS lymphoma, all without getting a single round of chemotherapy targeted at CNS lymphoma (methotrexate). After showing up at the hospital with double vision he was sent home and told to see a ophthalmologist! So Dr. Kapoor's judgement seems poor in managing my dad's case (certainly in hindsight, but also with info at the time). Secondary CNS lymphoma has a very poor prognosis, so there are serious decisions to be made about the goals of treatment. But Dr Kapoor also did not appear to understand that the dose adjustment (DA) EPOCH protocol is to compensate for variable clearance rates of the chemo agents (he talked in terms of "strong" and "weak"). So he just doesn't seem to have deep knowledge in this area. I would strongly recommend choosing another oncologist if you or a family member need treatment for NHL.

Dr. Kapoor only cares about money. He, nor his staff, particularly his lovely office manager Nora who can never be found, care one iota about what the patients need. All they care about is getting as many people as possible in and out. I would avoid this place, there are much better physicians in the area that have a decent bedside manner and won’t run you through like cattle. Dr. Kapoor only cares about money. My husband has been going to Dr. Kapoor since 2017 for cancer. We love Dr. Kapoor and his entire staff. They have become like family. Dr. Kapoor not just addresses the cancer, but the other problems that come with it. God forbid you ever get cancer, but if you do, I highly suggest going to Dr. Kapoor.

Dr. Kapoor said my blood pressure of 71/47 was and then said oh that is ok just dehydrated and to follow up with primary Dr. If I was dehydrated why did not give me a bag of IV FLUIDS. I had a picc line in place so it would have been easy. Not to mention he is only in the room with you 2 or 3 minutes not the $15.00 insurance pays. The girls in the back are great.the sad thing is he dont care about his patients Dr. Kapoor said my blood pressure of 71/47 was and then said oh that is ok just dehydrated and to follow up with primary Dr. If I was dehydrated why did not give me a bag of IV FLUIDS. I met Dr Kapoor when I worked at STRMC in 2006. I always said "if I needed an oncologist, this is who Id use". He struck me as a very caring doctor involved in his patients welfare. When I needed a cancer doctor, he made an appointment that day. From time I called for appt, met him in office and with radiologist, had bone biopsy done and read by pathology, 2 hours had elapsed.(I live 30 min away, too, and 20 min to biopsy cntr) my intractible back pain cured in 3 wks on chemo treatment.
Was a patient for 3 years. Dr. on average spent less than 2 minutes in room with you. When you go to asking questions he stars heading towards door while answering and doesn’t allow for more. When I went and got second option found out that I was being given my monthly treatment wrong the whole time. Shots were supposed to be giving deep muscle and were given subq. As a result have nodules in hip area that show up on CT scans and will not go away as I’m told now.

The staff doesn't care about you or your needs, just your insurance and copays. I went in to get a question answered and was told I had to make a appointment to talk to the Dr. and they could not answer my question.. I will never go back, total lack of compassion and professionalism

I will be changing hematologists soon because Dr. Kapoor has little follow-up skills, a cold bedside manner, no online patient portal (this is 2017, after all) and will not even answer basic questions. And every time, I've had to wait over an hour after my appointment times to spend a whole 5 minutes with him! Y'know, my time is valuable, too! I'm sorry that I wasted so much $$ and time on this guy, as he came highly recommended by my PCP. :(

This place is nasty. Few days ago, I heard that there was a dead mouse. Under a patient chair. When I heard I wanted to walk out. The manager didn't say sorry or anything. I think these people don't care at all. Never coming back. Gross.

If this physician is recommended to you or he's one of the few physicians you have to choose from because you live on the NE side of San Antonio, RUN! I repeat, DO NOT SEEK CARE FROM THIS DOCTOR. Especially when it comes to cancer patients. If I had enough room to explain my loved ones experience I would. My husband is still alive today & fighting because of Dr Drengler. Kapoor was just treating him with Zometa & no chemo or radiation for Stage IV prostate cancer. Please do not see this doctor.
The clinic is very dirty. When I was walking to the exam room. I can see the next room and see the a patient. Then when I was leaving and passing another exam room. I saw and I could hear the doctor and the patient talking about what that patient has. I saw the doctor showing him what the patient had. When I saw that. I was shocked. I will never tell my close friends and family to come here. Unprofessional

Doctor Kapoor is very caring and interested in all his patients. He gets to know each individual and even family. I always felt like I was his most important patient when he met with me. He never acts like he's in a rush during visits.

Just got a collection letter for the co-pay amount I ALWAYS pay during my appointments. This new accounting lady is horrible! Not the first time she said I owed either. Awful!!! His staff are nice but the doctor himself has no people skills and is only is business for the money. The billing department holds your claims and causes you to pay more out of pocket. One guy stated they hold his claims every year for 3 or more months so they don't hit his deductible and he pays more out of pocket. What bills I have received I noticed he billed for the highest level of service whivh isn't correct.. The service I received was by far the worst I have ever experienced.
