Dr. Roopa Ganga

Dr. Ganga was my doctor at St. Anthony's Hospital back in June 2021 for a bacterial infection. She preformed two specific wound culture tests for MRSA and S. Aureus bacteria. Both of these cultures came back negative. I was released from the hospital 4 days later with 2 antibiotic prescriptions. A few days after my release, my primary care physician determined my infection was due to pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. He immediately changed my antibiotic because what Dr. Ganga had prescribed would not have taken care of the bacteria.

I feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Ganga consult on my case and be part of my care while hospitalized recently at St Anthony’s Hospital. She has saved my life several times with her excellent diagnostic skills. She is very thorough and it is clear that she sincerely cares about her patients. I am speaking as an RN with 33 years of critical care experience. I have immense appreciation and gratitude for all that she has done to help me through my illness. Dr. Ganga saw me as a hospital patient at St. Anthony's. Actually, she saw me at 10 pm on my first night, but didn't wake me. Then came again the next day and saw me at 8 pm. The hospital explained that there are not enough Infectious Disease doctors in the area and they are spread across the different hospitals. Hence, the late visits paid by the doctor tells me that she is a very busy person. She studied my case and knew her stuff and was able to quickly come up with a course of treatment. As a side note, previously I tried to make an appointment after getting a referral from my doctor to her, but the appointment would have been many months out and I was told it would be best to go to the ER and have a doctor assigned. I'm glad it was her, but it was a roundabout way to have her see me!

In never expecting to need an Infectious Disease doctor, we were most fortunate to have Dr Ganga assigned to my mothers care during a hospitalization. Her professionalism, her passion, her compassion, her gentle nature gave not only my mother, but us as family, complete confidence and peace of mind that my mother was being cared for and treated by a determined physician that truly cared. Never once did we feel hurried in any way. We felt every explanation and treatment plan was thoroughly and patiently given. We are forever grateful to Dr Ganga.
