Roswell Maccallum Johnston

I had no problem with Dr. Johnston, but his staff have issues. Don't you DARE call them asking for pain meds refill after a TKR!!!! A woman, not known if she was even a nurse, told me to never call them again, asking for pain relief, less than 12 weeks after my surgery.

66 and retired at the end of last year. Got a new hip January 3rd this year. Couldn’t recommend Dr. Johnston any higher. Extremely satisfied with the procedure and recovery. Everyone was very professional and informed me about my upcoming surgery very well. Dr. Roswell explained everything that he will do to correct the trigger finger surgery and was very professional too! He's a great doctor!!!

Everyone is so nice and helpful

Dr Johnston is a great orthopedic dr. He is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him!

Dr Johnston took the time to discuss my injury and personally give an injection in my knee that I had a reaction to with his ortho assistants. Not blaming anything on the assistants as I had good response 8 months ago but Dr Johnston took the time to do the injection to make sure done correctly.

Dr. Johnston is a great doctor, he don't push any surgeries on you, let's me decide when to have surgery. Love the staff, also

My collar bone injury was deemed not surgical so absolutely nothing was done to help me.

6 months after my hand surgery and still have major scar damage, loss of hand function and numbness. Went through extensive occupational therapy and the OT even said there was nothing more they could do. Do not have any hand surgery done by him. I️ regret this. I️ should have gone back to my doctor in Cedar Rapids.

Still in a lot of pain with middle finger to where it wakes me up at night. Dr. Johnston suggested therapy and I am doing so as of now. No relief yet.

He was the first dr to actually listen to me when I went to see him. He ordered appropriate procedure. I thought that he would be doing my surgery. But it must be bad enough that I am seeing a hand specialist. I’m just ready for my pain to be done.

Dr. Johntson did my carpal tunnel surgery and I've had no problems. Also, I've received 2 cortisone injections in my shoulder and have great results. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is he didn't explain the surgery too well the first time, however, he did come back in the room and took more time with explaining.

Dr Johnston is more like a friend than a Dr. Always has time to discuss the Good Old Days. Never seems to forget who you are or what your problems are. We are very lucky to have him in the area.

I had never seen dr Johnston until the morning of my surgery, I was admitted to the hospital on a Saturday evening and was told that I was to have surgery on Sunday morning. Dr. Johnston has performed two surgeries with good outcomes both times.

Dr. Johnston would not listen to me when I repeatedly told him he was hurting me. I work on a dairy farm and told him that unless I wrap and protect my hand there was no way to keep it clean, again he ingored me and decided that a band aid and buddy taping my broken hand would be sufficient. We WILL be seeking another Doctor as this one has lost his ability to relate or listen to patients.

While explaining how my knee injury has effected my life over the past few years. I tried to stay "I have gained 20 pounds.... in two years because I cannot work out normally." He interrupted me after I said how much I had gained and said "That's because of this *motioned eating*." DOCTORS should not assume things out of their training. Without asking me about my dietary habits telling me that my weight gain is because of eating is unprofessional to say the least.

Too knee cortisone injection happy. I had pre-diabetes. I had mentioned it verbally and on their check in. They administered the shot any way. That shot did not help but triggered my diabetes.
