I was referred to Dr Pokorney after developing a bad staph infection i encountered from knee replacement surgery. Dr Pokorney was on top of things at my first appointment. It was obvious that he had reviewed my records thoroughly. I felt comfortable and confident with him and his entire staff right from the first shake of the hand. Follow up care has been over 100%! Dr. Pokorney is thorough, attentive, caring, and takes time with you and explains things to you in easy to understand terms.

My surgery, a total left hip replacement went very well. Caring staff that takes the time to answer all your questions. Would highly recommend Dr. Pokorney!!!!

I felt very safe with Dr. Pokorney and all of the ORA staff. Every step was explained very thoroughly. My recovery and PT went well. 10 weeks later I was hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

He provided me with a right knee revision surgery and a left hip replacement. I recovered very well from both of these surgeries. His work is proficient, he is personable and takes excellent care of his patients. I have recommended him to friends and family.

Just saw Dr. Pakorny‘s PA, I think his name is Dr. Barker and he was great! Had a shot in my left hip and an injection into the left hip joint. Just a little uncomfortable but not painful. I thought he was very kind and understanding and sought to the needs that I had on how to be positioned for the injection. I have a titanium back and they worked with me to get comfortable so that I could have my injection. Awesome staff so kind and friendly. So nice to go and not have to dread the appointment because I know it will go well. That is a big plus when you’re in pain. Great doctors!

Dr. Pokorney is one of the best! He explains every facet of treatment, possible side effects, and other forms of treatment. His team is also very knowledgeable and accessible.

I had total knee replacement surgery. Dr.Pokorney and his assistant Daniel gave me the best care and guided me through all aspects of recovery. I am 80 years old. I am resuming my daily exercises, and ballroom dancing with my husband. I am truely grateful for the personal and professional care I was afforded. I recommend them highly.

Hip surgery went great! No problems at all. Recovery was quick.

Dr Pokorney replaced both my hips by direct anterior total hip replacement surgery. I believe you could not find a better doctor anywhere! Excellent skill and knowledge! I am very pleased with my surgery outcome and would definitely recommend him to anyone!

I would highly recommend going to ORA. Dr Pokorney and his staff has always been caring and so friendly. I live about an hour away and it's well worth my trip.

Dr. Pokorney did an excellent job straightening my leg, after another Dr at another place messed it up my knee replacement.

Our visit with doctor and ORA was great. My daughter is almost back to feeling like a normal kid with running and playing. As with anything it will take time. She received excellent care and great ingormation on how to move on from her injury.

Very pleasant & informative. Has never mad me feel rushed at all!

Dr. Pokorkey replaced both of my hips in 2018. He did a fantastic job explaining the procedure. As well as treatment both pre and post surgery. I would recommend him to anyone considering hip surgery.

I had two xrays done on my shoulders and Dr Pokorney was so good in showing and explaining to me what i was dealing with. I think that is so important as a patient to be able to see and understand where the osteoarthritis is and what it is doing to the joint. Then explaining how he will preform the surgery and answering any questions i had was so reassuring. His PA Daniel is always so kind, professional and considerate. Kersten is so helpful with getting all the details of surgery together. I feel like i am in good hands as a patient of Dr Pokorney!

Doctor Pokorney did a great job on my collarbone surgery Thanks

I saw Dr. Pokorney twice in January 2021 as I was evaluating Orthopedic Surgeons for a Total Hip Replacement. I came prepared with a number of questions written out. He was patient and not hurried in answering them. His Nurse, Kersten, then scheduled me for a mid-March surgery. The day after my surgery Dr. Pokorney came into my hospital room around 6am, checked my leg and then sat down next to the bed and spoke with me for a few minutes. At my 2 week, 6 week and 3 month F/U appointments I once again came prepared with questions regarding my recovery and precautions I would need to take. And again Dr. Pokorney took the time to answer them and did not appear hurried. Now at 14 weeks post-op I am doing great. I am again enjoying walking, gardening and cycling. I was also impressed with all the written materials ORA provided me before the surgery. They set up all the appointments I would need with various medical facilities. I had reverse right shoulder replacement Sept. 15th. Surgery went well and I am now finishing up therapy on my shoulder. My range of movement is improving and I am free of pain. Dr. Pokorney, his assistant Daniel and nurse Kirsten haven taken great care of me and any question I had was addressed quickly. Seen @ ER following sudden & severe back pain, referred to Dr Porkorney & ORA, where he & staff were great. Following xrays confirmed spinal compression fractures, Dr explained condition & treatment options: was placed in a fx vest for support & to help reduce pain, then started physical therapy for several weeks to strengthen back & hip muscle.which also helped relieve pain. I went for my knee, sent me for an MRI, they took great care of my knee. Very nice nurses. Dr. Pokorney, he has great 'bed side' manners. Explained everything. I would highly recommend ORA and Dr. Pokorney!

My hip was completely gone when I went to ORA. Dr. Pokorney saw me.along with his PA, and explained the procedure, showed me the x-ray, the problem with my hip,, and set up surgery. Dr Pokorney and his staff has done an excellent job of responding to a total knee replacement that was postponed due to a very large custom replacement needs to be used and is not available. Dr and his staff scheduled an office visit that occurred within three hours of the news of the delay. In addition, the CT scan occurs about 24 hours later, which will allow the supplier to build the replacement knee. The surgery is scheduled also which means only a four week delay, which is much better than I expected. I had my new knee done at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. When I fall on the ice I felt I needed to return to my doctor up there. I came to ORA as an emergency. I knew something was wrong. Dr. Pokorney was very knowledgeable, explained clearly what was wrong. He made m me feel comfortable with his diagnosis. He reassured me that I would not have to make the trip to Mayo. Dr. Pokorney is a great doctor. He replaced my left hip last year and I've gone back to him to see about my right hip which will need replacement soon. I would recommend him to anyone young and old to go to him and have him look over your medical needs, you won't regret it.

Joel Ingram was my physical therapy doctor whose exercises have strengthened my leg so that I am able to walk around my home without aid and can walk distances outside with a cane a month after surgery. Dr Pokorney did a knee Manipulation for me, and did a wonderful job. My leg was crooked for a year. Dr. Mendle at Orthopedic Specialist said a manipulation wouldn’t work. I’m glad I went to Ora and saw Dr. Pokorney. I would have been stuck with a crooked leg. walking with a cane the rest of my life. Dr. Pokorney is also very kind.

Dr. Pokorney did my partial knee replacement last year.

Dr. Pokorney did a knee manipulation on the right side. He did a wonderful job! Another doctor at another place told me a manipulation wouldn’t work. I walked around with my leg crooked for a year and I used a cane. I’m so glad I went to Ora and saw Dr. Pokorney. He is also very kind, witch is a plus.

I would highly recommend Dr.Pokorney. He was very thorough and explained the procedure very well. My shoulder was pretty much non-functional and extremely painful when I was seen for a November appt. After the exam and reviewing the MRI, there was one one choice for me, a total shoulder replacement. He explained the procedure to be done very well and on Jan 19th, 2021 my procedure was performed. All my appointments since surgery went very well and I was able to start Physical Therapy on March 1st, 2021. I was warned that recuperation/rehabilitation could take anywhere between 12 - 16 weeks. I am very happy to say, exactly 3 months from the date of surgery I have received my clearance to go back to work with No restrictions. By the way, I am employed in the concrete field, it will be nice to be able to work without the shoulder pain I was experiencing for the last 6 months.

I had a revision by Dr. Pokorney a year ago, and it went very well... Now I am contemplating the other knee for replacement. He is a good listener and answers my questions with patience. It is nice to have a doctor that is not rushing out the door as you ask questions. I definitely recommend him!

Had Right Knee Total Revision. Had first right knee replacement at VA in Iowa City. Lived in Pain and walked with limp for 4 years before visiting Dr. Pokorney. Very glad I did. Fantastic results !

I was walking with a walker and in extreme pain. I had a hip replacement on November 29,2017. I owe my successful surgery and recovery to Dr. Pokorney. It is a little late for a review but I want everyone to know--he is the best!! It took awhile for him to convince me that I needed the surgery but he was always patient and kind. Also, he explains everything in a way that you do understand. Let me repeat--he is the best!!!
