Dr. Salvatore G Lacognata

I have had a total of 12 surgeries, 2 of these have been knee replacements. Then I found out I needed Knee Revision Surgery (a replacement of an existing prosthetic knee) it is much more complicated then a normal knee replacement some doctors will not even do this procedure. I have been treated and cared for by a lot of good doctors in my life but Dr LaCognata and Raelyn and the team at Valley Bone & Joint Specialists are the best I have ever had, and everything you will ever want in a healthcare provider!

I had a very complicated hip problem from wearing a brace as a kid. Needed hip surgery three orthopedic surgeons all told me I had to go to Dr LaCognata. Am I glad I did he needed to not only replace the hip he had to make me a new socket. He and his staff are wonderful. Last year I needed the other hip replaced and back I went. I now have a knee problem and will see him next week. He is kind compassionate, caring and takes the time to explain what needs to be done. He and his office get 5 stars!

I have never met a primary care doctor or specialist with the great bedside manner that Dr. Lacognata has. He will spend every minute necessary to explain your condition and talk you through every question you may have. Docs like this just don’t exist anymore. His staff is amazing and will bend over backwards to make sure your experience and any procedures goes smoothly. I had a left hip replacement and I feel like I’m 20 years old again.

He did a knee revision on me 3 years ago. My original surgeon put in wrong size and my knee cap was sliding and getting stuck. I have no more problems with that knee. I’m now having hip problems and trust him to do both. Next month I go in for a new hip and have no reservations for Dr La Cognata to preform them. He knows I’m tired of being in pain!

Dr. LaCognata is very helpful and extremelty caring person. He gives you time for questions and really cares for you and your recovery. Honorhealth Scottsdale Osborne Hospital is where he performed a total hip replacement on my left hip. I was very impressed how everyone spoke highly of Dr. LaCognata. The doctors' office staff are very professional and helpful in your care. They really go out the way to assist in everything you may need preparing you for surgery; for instance, company paper work, and getting your questions answered. When I called and when they said they will call back at the specified timeframe they followed up as promised. We went through the covid-19 cancellation of elective surgeries, and my surgery was cancelled. I waited over a month for my surgery. The office staff were phenomonal on how they handled this crisis. And it went very smoothly when the government started up the elective surgergies. I really recommend Dr. LaCognata for your bone and joint issues. Great experience! He is seeing me for knee-revision surgery, and did my hip-revision surgery 6 years ago. He is an excellant surgeon and a caring doctor.

I never saw him after the surgery either. He didn’t explain much about the part he used with for a hip replacement. It did not have good coating and is loose, causing me to need a hip replacement. I’ve been in pain for too long!

I lovelovelove Dr. LaCognata and his staff. He is down to earth and an exceptional surgeon. He listens to you and genuinely cares about wanting to do the best for patients.

Dr LaCognata is patient, thorough, kind, professional, reassuring- I could go on and on. He is a specialists specialist. He fixes what other surgeons screwed up. He made a very big deal as easy as it could have been. ( i do agree his phone/answering system can be a pain-keep trying or hit an ext.)

Well, this is a follow up to the previous review. I finally called the office Monday and spoke to the staff in regards to not being able to reach anyone for 4 days and being in severe pain for 2 of them. The person said “WELL, WHY DIDNT YOU JUST CALL THE DOCTOR ON CALL?” as ifh there was any way to call him. I explained that I did not have any way to contact the doctor, and the home care nurse had no way to contact, and the message on the machine gave no emergency number or on call doctor number

Had a knee replacement done and it has been good so far. A couple issues with the staff though, I never saw Dr Lacognata either after the surgery, during recovery, not the whole 3 days I was in the hospital.he is a very nice Doctor and the hospital staff is very nice and took good care of me. The office staff does not take good care of the phones as I have tried calling for the last 4 days to get meds refilled and although the machine says they return calls same day, I have never received a call

Ram out of pain meds and Dr Lacognata has no way to get hold of him and his office staff has not returned calls for 3 days straight.

Love Dr. LaCognata! He did right hip replacement in 2015 when I lived in AZ. Moved to MD. In 2017, left hip yelled at me. Feb 2018, saw surgeon in MD, thought "He is NOT Dr. LaCognata!" Called his office, flew to AZ in March for initial consultation, drove 2700 mi. in June for surgery, drove home end of Aug, am back to work walking dogs and driving kids--I am 73. Had awesome surgeon, rehab, home, outpatient PT & I did my part by following Dr.'s orders

Dr Lacognata was a rock during my 3 knee operations. He analyzed my problems and offered and delivered a real solution each time. I would recommend his services for anyone.

Never would have him operation on me again!!!! Would never recommend him....

Two years ago Dr Lacognata replaced my right knee. I was 50 with little to no cartilage left and was in constant pain. My first meeting with him he listened tentatively to my symptoms, identified my options, and patiently answered all of my questions. It was nice that he offered solutions without pushing me to make my decision. The day of surgery, he explained everything that would happen and put me at ease. Recovery was a challenge, but nothing was unexpected; and the aftercare was phenomenal!

Well I had hip replacement June 29th as to date I still have a open wound where the incision is an it's frustrating I can't work as my whole lower body stiffens up if I do to much exercise an if I sit to an lay down to long it all stiffens up. Feeling very lost as what to do.

The best surjean in the world. Both prosthetic knees replaced. Left than right. Than left knee bursa removal. I have arthritis. Sal gives you possitive hope, lets you know I can replace your joints but you have to put the work into you to get limber , and your mobility back. I is not a walk in the park .five star plus.

I had total knee replacement surgery in 2006. I could not be happier with the quality of treatment from Dr. Lacognata. I was able to resume normal activities, totally pain free, within a matter of weeks after the surgery. Ten years later my life is not impacted by any knee pain. He is an outstanding surgeon and I heartily recommend him.

Super professional, explained in detail hip surgery and options. Very up front and honest approach to all phases.
