Dr. Sanford Katims

Both doctors are excellent, very attentive to details, knowledgeable and caring. One point for improvement - the receptionist who was taking the calls and scheduling appointments was very dismissive and unprofessional on the phone. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a name as she hanged up on me when taking my phone number to enable me to talk with a doctor later. Maybe she was having a bad day. This bad customer service occurred today at 12.15pm.

I like the staff here. They're easygoing and efficient. They actually listen to me, too.

Being new to the area, I went hunting for help in repairing a pair of glasses I'd sat on earlier. Hemmingway wrote a short story, entitled 'A Clean, Well-Lighted Place" where he was made to feel most welcomed from the moment he walked thru the door... exactly how I felh in this shop-front; Nice Vibe, Good people... the young lass who operated on my 'arms' did warn me, that any repair mishaps that might occur would fall on my shoulders, and then vanished to the lab at the back ...and emerged minutes later, successfully fixing me! IF it were only that easy with all my other issues! The reception area was comfy, and I will be back! Kindly clone the young lass who helped! And I did, want to say THANKS AGAIN! I have seen both Dr. Sanford and Dr Rachel Katims as well as now having my daughter and my husband go for any eye emergencies. They are so wonderful, warm, and accommodating. I cannot recommend this practice enough. They are thorough, diligent and very efficient.

I’m a 50 year T1Diabetic so my eye health is a big deal. Dr. Rachel Katims is very impressive. She covered all the bases and discovered a potential problem that my prior Opthalmologist missed and also provided a significant improvement to my corrective lenses. She was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr Rachel is so wonderful and very nice to explain what is your diagnosis... it was an amazing experience and they have new technology... I can recommend any one else... ????

I want to express my sincere Thanks to Doctor Sanford Katims for his assistance and help. Late on Friday I injured my eye while cutting a piece of metal. My Eye Doctor in Garden City was not available and recommended Dr. Sanford Katims. I called Dr. Katims who was very helpful and courteous over the phone. This was after normal Business hours. Based on the fact I was not in pain and my vision was good he agreed to see me first thing on Sat. On Sat. I arrived and he immediately examined my eye and informed me it was just irritated and there was no metal in my eye. Obviously a big relief. I just want to say Thank YOU Dr. Katims, you are professional and a caring person. There are not too many folks like you anymore in this world. I know this may be a simple exam for you but it meant a great deal to me. The fact I was able to speak to you after normal business hours, the advice & options you provided and most of all the exam first thing on Sat. morning. Dr. Katims is a one of a kind eye doctor! If you have any issue he will always find a way to fit you into his schedule, no matter the day or time. He is beyond wonderful and I would recommend him a thousand times over to anyone seeking a top eye doctor!!

This was my first time going to an eye doctor and I had a great experience. The Dr was very nice and so was the front desk attendant. Definitely recommend

I have been going here for 20+ years. Great people, always up to date on the latest medical advancements. It’s a great family practice and the Daughter of Sandy Katims is going to keep the practice going. Look forward to another 20 years.

GREAT!!! Clean, organized, and state-of-the-art. The staff is professional, the doctors (a father -daughter team!!!) are amazing. All of my questions were answered and I felt comfortable throughout the examination. Thank you Dr. Katims.

I went here twice. Both times DR Katims hurt my eyes with his soapy hands when removing my lenses. My new trial lenses were not working out, so I went somewhere else. No pain incurred and a prescription I can actually see properly with! Avoid this place

Dr Katims and his staff are friendly, professional, and very capable. I'm very grateful they are in town.
