I waited an hour and 15 min. He evaluated my hand for 2 maybe 3 minutes. I did not feel like he listened to me. He did not look me in the eye. He did not seem to care that the coritizone shot would be and was very painful. He ignored my arm pain. I thought I was referred to him because of the arm pain not just my hand. This is the work comp doctor so I have no choice about treatment providers.

Dr. Shumway performed emergency surgery in December. From that first day I was very comfortable with everyone whom assisted with the surgery. Had to have emergency hand surgery. From the beginning I was very comfortable with Dr. Shumway and everyone working with him. I have zero complaints with this experience. I would come back if it would be required.

Dr Shumway was very thorough in explaining the procedure. He was also very caring and understanding of my circumstance. I would highly recommend.

Excellent

A very good doctor. A bit abrupt, but he gets the job done. Very clinical and thorough. He explained everything to my satisfaction. I have surgery scheduled soon so I'll let you know how that goes. He did a wrist repair for me several years ago which I was very happy with. I have every confidence that it will be the same again.

I like dr Shumway. I thought I might get an X-ray of my wrist but the dr came into the room already prepared with the cortisone needle in his hand and that was fine with me. Dr. Shumway is very kind and knowledgeable.

Dr. Shumway is hands down the best surgeon ever. He talks just enough to make sure that you know what is going is going to be done and that not only making sure its right but to also make sure your at ease and comfort. Visits are always first rate. Dr. Shumway has been an excellent physician for me.

I have really enjoyed having Dr.Shumway as my doctor. He has been very patience with me. In addition he takes his time to explain treatment and next steps needed. He has truly been a blessing for my family and me.

The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable in their field. I felt confident and comfortable in the care given.

My wrist surgery was not successful I was told that in 6 months it should heal. Eight years now, still painful.

Don’t know how to feel. One part of me is thankful surgery did not have to be discussed, but at the same time I feel like I wasted my time, energy, and money. Kind of feels like I’m talking to a wall and that he’s not really taking the time to empathize with my pain. Wasted $100 and most of my day for him to come in the room for less than 2 minutes, tell me the same thing he told me a week ago and that it’s ‘a wait and see thing’. Now I feel discouraged and as if I’m over exaggerating, because the way he approached me made me felt as if he doesn’t believe me, really doesn’t care or have the time to find a plan that works for me. Told me to come back PRN, but why go back and waste 100 more dollars for the same result. Don’t know how to feel. Ive been to 3 other orthos about my hand now, the first didnt know what to do, the second said theres nothing they can do, But Dr. Shumway knew exactly what it was and and fixed it. He a great doctor i highly recommend him

Very quick and precise. Even when they told me they were an hour behind because of an emergency surgery, they still got me completely taken care of and I was walking out the door 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. And they were able to squeeze me into rehab 3 days later!!

I.have had a reocuring problem with my thumb. Dr Shumway gave me another cortizone shot. Over the years I have had many problems with "trigger finger" in both hands. Dr. Shumway and associates were very helpful in the repair of my hand. They were willing to answer any questions I had, and did their best to keep me positive and comfortable while preparing for, and recovering from my surgery.

Right thumb growth. Was anxious but Dr Shumway gave explicit of next steps and was kind when I got nervous. He was very professional as all staff was as well. Highly recommend.

He took his time and explained everything to me. He was very knowledgeable and was very friendly. His bedside manner was phenomenal.

He is a very nice person, explains everything. Tries to do what he can without doing surgery. But I've had two surgeries with him.
