Dr. Serena S. Hu

Fabulous!

My wife underwent back surgery by Dr. Hu at Stanford. It was a disaster. Shortly after surgery my wife started having trouble with her legs. I wrote to and called Dr. Hu's office dozens of times without any resolution to the problem. Finally when my wife became completely paralyzed from the waist down exploratory surgery was done and her spinal cord was pinched off during surgery. She has permanent nerve damage because she was left paralyzed for too long. It changed our life for the worse.

Surgeons in the orthopedic field can be callous and disengaged from their patients. THAT'S NOT DR. SERENA HU, SHE'S ABSOLUTELY GREAT! She's high energy and clearly a skilled and talented surgeon. She performed both a microdiscectomy & some years later, a six level fusion at UCSF. When I was having a crisis, she always found time to see me. My spinal fusion is still holding up after many years. I'm incredibly lucky to have had her as my doctor while living in San Francisco.
