Dr. Shiranee Terese Abeysekera

Dr. Abeysekera is a great psychiatrist. I would recommend her to anyone, even my loved-ones, who wants to improve their quality of life and mental health or even if they have serious conditions that affect mentality or nerves. The wait times are long because she is invested in helping patients learn about their conditions, experiences, and develop insight in to how they cope and react to different conditions as well as attention to medication side effects and also additional evaluation of other treatments that occur, with primary care doctor if you see a counselor. Overall she is excellent and the practice is too.

I read Dr. Abeysekera’s negative reviews & I didn’t connect with them at all. Everyone has unique issues for seeing a psychiatrist & so they’ll also have a unique fit for the proper Doctor. If I need to spend extra time talking, she welcomes it & so others might wait longer. I’d much rather a Dr like that than one that rushes you to stick to appointment times. If I need a quick visit, she is flexible with that as well. I’ve never had issues rescheduling either.

Extremely rude doctor and behaves in a very unprofessional manner. I do not recommend her at all.

Expect to wait at least 30-45min after your scheduled appt.... Every time! She's an idiot who misdiagnosed me and has poor follow-up. She doesn't care.

I didn't get the sense that she cares. I waited a long time past my scheduled appointment time for her to see me. She never apologized for making me wait. Others in the waiting room stated that she always runs late n one will always see her way past their scheduled time. She has poor follow-up n because of her limited hours, it's not easy to make an appt. I wouldn't recommend her.
