Dr. Shoba Kankipati

No one answers the phone. I've tried 3 times in 2 days at 20+ minutes each. I stay on hold with a recording telling me how important the patients are.

Dr Kankipati was my oncologist for approximately 2 years. She explained my protocol carefully and always made sure I understood what was happening next. She was very professional and I never felt rushed. She treats her staff with respect and their regard for her shows. The entire office was amazing. I feel comfortable recommending Dr. Kankipati.

I am so thankful for Dr. Kankipati. Having been seen by several doctors, it was Dr. Kankipati who was able to make a diagnosis. She is very thorough and diligent in her examination. I appreciate her candor and honesty with my condition and how to approach my treatment plan. I have a great deal of trust and confidence in her.

I was referred due to a malignant tumor. Surgery was complicated & she worked hard to find a surgeon who could handle it & I was able to get the best at UCSF! I have totally recovered and continue to meet with Dr Kankipati every six months for follow- up.

I wish I could give her a lower rating. She was rude, condescending, and very abrupt WHILE she was discussing my oncology treatment plan. She actually told me she hoped I'd live another 20 years, (I was 47 at the time). Being much more ambitious than that I fired her and found a better doctor.

She was combative, rude and unprofessional. She needs professional training! I have never experienced this behavior from an MD. I was disgusted. She attacked my personality for questioning my treatment plan and she yelled & indicated I was too analytical and basically berated me and then insisted I change my radiation oncologist to hers. She refused to leave the room as I changed. She is controlling. She is dramatic and highly emotional. She could not contain her anger and screamed. I did report this. I am the patient. Cancer patients need comfort. She is a very negative ???? & maybe its a reflection of her own insecurities. I changed the doctor and a higher level of professionalism was expected. I hand selected my Cancer team. Interviewed oncologists and was delighted to have Dr. Kankipati be a part. She kept me in line with all of my appointments. I had an appointment with Dr. Kankipati today and am most thankful that she is one of my doctors. Dr. Kankipati is compassionate, diligent and thorough. I know she will take good care of me. If the need arises, I will for sure recommend her to family and friends.

Horrible! She was combative and emotional when I asked questions and became argumentative. She attacked my character. I have cancer. I should have walked out. She is immature & needs coaching. Patients need comfort ! She seems like the patient. Just Awful. I don’t know how these reviews are ok.. she lacks patience and is highly unprofessional & rude!

Dr. Kankipati is an excellent oncologist whom I have been seeing for 7 years. She is not only very knowledgeable, but very sympathetic and caring, a characteristic not very common these days. Her staff are pleasant and fairly accommodating. the only slightly critical thing I can think of is that there is often significant delay in filling prescriptions, after multiple faxes from the pharmacy and messages left by me. I'm not sure if it's a staff communication issue or what exactly

Have been with Dr Shoba for 12 years since breast cancer diagnosis. She is the BEST! Kind, warm, loving but also innovative and progressive in her approach. She treated my sister, niece and Dad. She is a big advocate for you with the insurance company. Phenomenal doctor!!!

Dr Kankipati was my husband's oncologist. Even the word "amazing" is an inadequate description of Dr. Kankipati. She is both brilliant and compassionate, She responded to phone calls and emails at all hours - and I know it's not fair to expect that but when you are fighting for your life or the life of someone you love dearly - you need that support. Dr. Kankipati or one of their on-call doctors have always been there for us. The team is the office is incredible as well.

I met Dr. Kankipati, after being admitted into San Ramon Regional Medical Center for a PE. It was very refreshing speaking with her. The nurse had inadvertently mistaken her as being one of my personal guest. She was practical, confident, and funny.. She actually took the time out to take a seat and educate me regarding my condition, via a notepad that she jotted down the possible causes. She made me feel very comfortable, It was almost like an angel had walked into my room. I will be following

I met Dr.Kankipati in the ER after it was discovered I had multiple PE's. This is a super scary time in my life. Dr. Kankipati was so warm and sympathetic. She really has such a personal touch and you can feel the concern she has for her patients. I have continued seeing Dr.Kankipati and she is just a great person and such a competent doctor. I trust her opinion without question. She has always been very accommodating and calls back timely in urgent matters. So lucky to have her.

Dr Shoba is exceptional. I feel that she guided me through my original diagnose as well as my recurrence with compassion and direction. She has become a family friend as well as a doctor. I feel very blessed to have her in my life. I have been in remission for 4 years and i owe it mostly to Dr. Shobas advice and knowledge of current technology and patient individuality.
