Dr. Silvia Beatriz Neme

Please do not see this doctor or anyone at the Epilepsy Center at Cleveland Clinic. I went for an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit stay there recently. Things were basically fine while there, apart from my MRI getting canceled. After leaving, things began to fall apart. I agreed to adjust my medication, which resulted in serious side effects. When I asked to switch back, it became impossible to communicate with Dr. Neme. She contradicted most of her statements about my side effects from when I saw her in person and said I needed to come off the medication, but would not tell me how to do it or give me any instructions. Her nurses were rude over the phone, they also did not provide adequate instructions, and refused to let me speak to Dr. Neme. After a full month of trying to sort this issue out, I receive a call from Rebecca in the ombudsman's office saying I can no longer speak to Dr. Neme, I had to stop calling the office so much, and that my "verbal abuse" must stop. I had never so much as raised my voice to anyone at Cleveland Clinic. I waited another week or so before bringing up the medication issue again, just to let things cool down. When I did, the Epilepsy Center completely refused to take my or my mother's phone calls. They were insufferably rude. We were transferred to the ombudsman immediately, who claimed I was verbally abusive out of thin air and decided to dismiss me during continuity of care - which is illegal, by the way. This is supposed to be a top-10 US hospital. They need to be held to that standard. Please seek care elsewhere. This has been a traumatic experience for me and my family. Dr. Neme is WONDERFUL. She has been so extremely helpful to me over the years. She always goes above and beyond. Whenever I have an appointment with her, she spends a long time in the room with me going over each and every detail. A few weeks ago, she spent 30-45 minutes on the phone with me going over test results. I recommend her to anyone. She is great! :) Dr. Neme is WONDERFUL. Please do not see this doctor or anyone in the Epilepsy Center at Cleveland Clinic. She refused to help me re-adjust my medication after her initial adjustment which resulted in serious side effects. Her office staff are insufferably rude, refused to take my calls, and dismissed me from the practice in continuity of care- which is illegal. They alleged verbal abuse. I never so much as raised my voice to them. Great behavior for a top-10 hospital. I'll spread the word.
