Dr. Stafford Michael Smith

I had an extremely informative followup meeting with Dr. Smith's nurse assistant, Lori, on March 3, 2020. This was a followup discussion of all previous tests including a chemical stress test being the first and a heart echo being the last. I now understand how a heart works and how my heart is doing. Thank you Lori. I totally agree with the likelihood of recommending Dr. Smith.

Dr Smith is thorough and still very personable. I would recommend him anytime. He and his staff are great.

Hard to overstate how well I was treated by Dr Smith. He is very courteous and professional, and was able to help me with my problem during a very difficult time. I would recommend his practice to anyone. His staff was also very friendly, compassionate and helpful. My first visit he came in met me for 5 minutes and ordered all these tests. After getting these “necessary” tests he ordered I was to have a follow up with him. However, I kept getting calls from his lovely staff that he would not be there and I had to be rescheduled. Not once but three times!! If I needed these testings done why am I not important enough to be seen after to go over my results? I found a new cardiologist and you should too.

Doctor Smith is a good doctor he always takes the time to make sure you understand everything and always makes sure everything is good with your insurance

Excellent doctor

Dr. Smith really made our visit pleasant and easy. He gave us a lot of time. Explained everything completely, listened to all our questions. We are grateful to have found such a Compassionate Doctor who totally puts his patients first.

Dr Smith is a very friendly person. I like the way he took his time and explained every thing that I needed to know about all the testing that had to be done . My wife and I feel that Dr.Smith and his wife Mary Rose go above and beyond to do everything for you. They make you feel like you are part of their family.

At the start of this month when I had my wisdom teeth extracted, my heart had a bit of tachycardia and my family physician suggested that I visit a Cardiologist just to make sure everything was as close to healthy as possible. I was extremely apprehensive, but the entire office staff, particularly Mary Rose and Dr. Smith himself were very comforting and caring to my individual case. I would recommend Dr. Smith highly & have already provided his name to others. Dr. Smith is the best around!

Dr. Stafford Smith took the time to answer questions and concerns. It wasn't an in and out session. He in my opinion is extremely knowledgeable and pretty much made me feel I picked the right doctor.

My story began in November of 2016, my heart beat was irregular and I was feeling every beat, I was very anxious and tired. My husband contacted Dr. smith's office, at which time he was greeted by Maryrose, they spoke at length about my symptoms and I was scheduled to see Dr. that day, this does not happen in Scranton often. testing was done and Dr smith spent quality time giving me options on my diagnosis. I'm a patient for life , and I have trusted him with my family also.

Dr. Smith and his team clearly exceeded my expectations. From the initial assessment to the final evaluation everyone went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. Dr. Smith is clearly a cut above the rest and I will continue to utilize his services as well as recommend everyone to see him. A true professional in every sense of the word.

We love Dr. Smith and his staff. They always have time for me, and explains everything fully. My condition has improved dramitacly under their care.

Dr.Smith took the time to thoroughly explain the functions of the heart, the many conditions and causes of heart disease and why the medication he wants to put me on is so important for my future health. He was attentive and took a full history of all my past and present health conditions, read through my records completely and asked me questions to fill in any gaps. My husband and I are impressed with him and I would definitely recommend him as a cardiologist. The staff is friendly & fun too.

Love my appointments with Dr Smith. I never feel like I am rushed and he explains everything to me in "easy" terms that I understand.

Very efficient and friendly office staff and physician. I came in on an emergency with no cardiac related and dr smith help me found out my condition. Dr Smith and Mary Rose are wonderful and I will recommend them

He is a man that does not leave a stone unturned. I had a blockage in my heart for 19 years and he found a surgeon that could correct this for me. I am feeling great thanks to him- I am a new man. He is a excellent Doctor. The above situation was accomplished after just a few visits.

He is exceptionally good. Very thorough and only has the patient interest In mind.Doctor gave me a new life under his care. His office is very personalized and always there for you even when the office is closed. I will not trade the care at Scranton heart institute for any other.I will go wherever my doctor goes.He explains all details in simple terms so the patient and family can understand . He is up on new medicines and research.I love my doctor and would recommend him to all with a heart.

LONG waiting period to see the Doctor. Unnecessary testing. A lot of back and forth traveling. I have been rescheduled MANY times. It takes days to get a call back. I am an employee of Scranton Heart Institute. I work front desk and I am responsible for checking patients in and out. Spent 1st Visit sitting in waiting room 90 minutes, 2nd visit 10 minutes for heart monitor, 3rd visit for echo cardiogram, and misdiagnosis of heart attack, refusal of ambulance transport, followed by canceling all future appointments.

Dr. Smith was extremely attentive and empathetic toward me and my family. He is extremely educated and passionate about what he does. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my healthcare!!

I just went there today.. He is very friendly, respectful, and caring. I will recommend him.
