Reviews for Stephen Edward Lemos
Had a knee replacement. Very professional procedure from the start to post op.
The best
Dr. Lemos is the best of the best. He has repaired my injured shoulder and restored my knees. Thanks to his expert surgical skills I can live a pain free active life as I near 80 Years. He has made it possible for me to take care of myself and my family. I live alone and function independently. He is not only a phenomenal doctor, he is a kind and gracious gentleman. It is an honor to be his patient.
In for a second opinion, he was courteous and easy to talk with, explained my options and reasons for each process. look forward to going over the results of my MRI.
Dr. Lemos is absolutely fantastic. The staff is very friendly and work very well with you on appointments and explanation of treatments and medications. I am from Ohio and had a total shoulder replacement. Dr. Lemos and his assistants were very good at letting me know what to expect and keeping up with my progress. Not once, from day 1, did I ever feel that I wasn't in the best of hands. I was extremely satisfied from the initial consultation and the preparations before and after my surgery. I am 60 years old, so you don't bounce back like a 30 year old, however I am making tremendous progress, with little pain, except for rehab pain. I want to thank the entire staff for all they have done, and especially the promptness of the C-9. I know I put you in a rush on that but what a fantastic job you all did. I will be forever grateful for everything! Thanks again, Jeff
Very good doctor. I trust him and the decision that he makes for me to get the best care.
Dr. Lemos has been a Godsend. During the past 12 years he has consulted with me on my body parts in need of repair. He created amazing improvements in my shoulder and knees. He is extremely kind and courteous. He is superbly competent in his profession. His knowledge is only surpassed by his genuine dedication to helping people in Michigan. Dr. Lemos has always patiently explained the wear and tear in my joints by discussing xrays and other tests with me. He has used models of knees and shoulders to make sure I fully understand what is being done to strengthen my joints. His associates are also competent and caring. The entire DMC facility is clean and well-organized. Special appreciation to Barbara and Kristen and the many PA's, nurses, aides and office staff.
I recently had a partial knee replacement done by Dr LEMOS! He is a wonderful surgeon and my knee has never felt better! His entire team is amazing from the Pa’s to the office staff,!special thanks to Brianna Heather and Ashley they have all taken great care of me! If you need surgery on your knee you need to see Dr LEMOS! Sincerely Gary Keoleian
Worst doctor I ever visited. I don't even consider him as a doctor. The facility I visited also was more are less a Casino. All happens there was a money looting in the name of medical service. This is my personal experience, I am not generalizing it but I felt it on the way they treated me. I visited him for Knee and ankle pain. He was not at all cordial to the patient, looked at my X-ray and told me to go for Physiotherapy. For that one word He charged some fancy amount. That is the reason I am in a impression that its all gambling not medical service Worst doctor I ever visited. I don't even consider him as a doctor. I would have given the doctor more stars, however the staff is not very helpful and personable. I am having a major surgery. A total shoulder replacement. The staff was going to send me to educational classes on knee and hip surgery! I was told by the doctor that those would not be very helpful for shoulder surgery and to call the office staff. The office staff has informed me there is no classes regarding total shoulder replacement! I went to a class at Royal Oak Beaumont for shoulder replacement. The class was very helpful and informational. Detroit Medical Center should have a class on shoulder surgery. I am very disappointed that I cannot be educated with the health system regarding this surgery. I would have given the doctor more stars, however the staff is not very helpful and personable. I only have one arm. Therefore, when I developed rotator cuff problems, I got several opinions and sought the most reputable surgeon I could find. I also was a physical therapist for a living and consulted my peers, specifically those who specialized in shoulders, as to who to see. Everyone said Dr. Lemos. Dr. Lemos "under promised and over delivered" as they say in the business world. That is a good thing. Within a couple days I could use my shoulder for light daily activity like making TV dinners and washing with a stick and sponge. Within a month I could use the arm to do daily activities. Within a year I plumb forgot I even had surgery. My one arm works perfectly to this day. No soreness. No arthritis. I can throw, reach behind my back, and reach overhead without limitation. The most I've tried to lift is 45 pounds and it's no problem. My outcome was perfect. It helps that he's a very likeable guy too. I only have one arm. Two shower replacements and I'm moving now better then ever. Thanks Dr Lemos and staff!
I have been seeing Dr Lemos since the 1st time I injured my shoulder in 2012. When I reinjured my shoulder, yes I went back to see him. He is excellent at what he does. I highly recommend him and have to 3 of my friends. You won't be disappointed.
I've been seeing Dr. Lemos since 2013. I went to him for a second opinion on a shoulder. He did surgery on it and it's been fine ever since. I did some damage to my knee in 2015. Since I had a pretty unique surgery on that knee when I was a kid, there really wasn't anything else to do but a Total Knee Replacement. I came through that fine and am back to riding my horse. What I love about Dr. Lemos is even though he's an excellent surgeon, he's not "cut happy." I've never felt pressured to have surgery. If you absolutely need it, he will suggest it, but if there are other ways to possibly fix it, he will do that. His staff is very nice also. I've always been greeted respectfully and kindly by the receptionists. His PAs are very thorough and caring. When I was recovering from the TKR, one of his PAs always called me back quickly to discuss things I might be feeling with the leg. I can't say enough about Dr. Lemos. He better never retire or move away because I won't find another ortho doc like him! I've been seeing Dr. Lemos since 2013. I went to him for a second opinion on a shoulder. I was referred to him by my dad and my PCP. He is very nice and takes his job seriously. They did my x-ray right in the office and determined I had spires but felt I needed an MRI and physical therapy before giving me a shot for pain or making any other decisions. But because I of my pacemaker and some law of me only having 2 MRIs I had to get an ultrasound which they did in the office. It was shown that I have a torn rotator cuff and spires. He gave me the choice on what I felt I wanted to do and I have chosen the surgery. Will let you know how that turns out. My dads shoulder is great years later. I have had multiple procedures at this office and would highly recommend them. Not only is Dr. Lemos and excellent physician with great bedside and educational skills, the office and and other support personnel are also fantastic. I have had both a knee and shoulder replacement her and would not go anywhere else. I worked in healthcare and have access to a number of reginoal and national options, but chose to use Dr. Lemos and his staff. The utlimate professionals and great clinicians.
I have been very pleased thus far for the level of care my son has received. Both Dr. Lemos and PA's have informed us well and answered all questions.
Excellent doctor although wait time in office can be extensive

Have already recommended many family and friends. Dr. Lemos is an excellent physician and surgeon. He listens to his patients and explains everything thoroughly. As do the Physician Assistants that work with him. (Sarah and Kristen) Office staff are very friendly and attentive to the needs of the patients. And the office is beautiful. Five starts given for everything!!!!
I had a Massive Rotator Cuff Tear. I had surgery at the CVI Heart Hospital in Detroit on May 31st. Dr. Lemos was excellent his staff the best. My recovery is great. The staff at The Farmington Hill office are professional and very polite. I would recommend Dr. Lemons to my family and friends. Thank you so much Dr. Lemos. Brenda D ARCHIE
He's an excellent doctor. My dad has gone to him for his shoulder and now I'm coming to him for my shoulder. I have a torn rotator cuff which he diagnosed after physical therapy, an x-ray and an ultrasound. I will be having surgery soon
I have had two total knee replacements from Dr. Lemos. He is an excellent surgeon. In both cases, I have recovered more quickly than most in my physical therapy center. I was back to work in six weeks.
Dr. Lemos is the best. He repaired my torn bicep tendon and more recently performed a total knee replacement on me. Both surgeries were done correctly the first time. He is a perfectionist, which is exactly what I want in a surgeon. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that is takes a long time to check out......sometimes 15-20 minutes. I drive about an hour to his office and I'd prefer to get out and on the road quickly.

Dr. Lemos has always been very professional. My daughter was a college athlete and was hurt at school. The doctors at her school were not able to determine the source of her swelling and provide a treatment method. Dr. Lemos met us on his day off, after hours to see her and provide a diagnosis. She was able to return to play.
