Mr. Stephen J. Meltzer

Couldn’t face, good precautions, felt clear about where I am now and when I need to return to stay on top of my digestive health.

Dr. Meltzer did a consultation with me for 70 minutes and failed to look at my pancreas after so many complaints of digestive difficulties, back pain, high lipids, fluctuating glucose, history of falls (likely from pressure on my back from a tumor in my pancreas), bloating, acid reflux, burping every 45 seconds when I lay down and much more. I went to Johns Hopkins in desperation as I was seen by other gastroenterologists, coincidentally, with even one of his under-studies. That I guess, made him think he didn't have to look to far to help me. He never looked at my pancreas and never thought to do more follow up studies. I ended up in an emergency room out in California where I was discovered with a large pancreatic cancer in the head of the pancreas with a bile blockage. Sad for me and for others who trust in him.

Dr. Meltzer told me to keep eating popcorn and taking baby colic ease for my terrible digestive problems, including burping every 45 seconds when I lay down in bed. I had so many symptoms that pointed to my pancreas, but he failed to look at that organ. He offered me surgery for another disease and that would not have fixed my problems as I ended up in the emergency room with a bile blockage and a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Meltzer to any and all patients that require the services of an outstanding gastro doctor. He LISTENS, responds to questions in non doctor speak. He will revisit questions all ready asked. He is a mensch & a great diagnostician. It was worth the trip from NYC to see him.
