Dr Blazar has preformed 2 back surgeries on my lumbar spine. He has been treating my issues for over 15 years He is a no nonsense straight forward doctor who I trust. My career has been dependent on his great work, I am a nurse. Without his care I would not be able to continue working.

He is only nice to a certain type of people, other people not so much. I asked him why I had the issues I do. He told me That I was deformed and ask God Another time, I ask for a MRI for another reason. He said why so we can find more problems.

Imho... He was just too busy for me when a I saw him in 2007. He seemed very short tempered towards me...rude and condescending. He seemed to be in a hurry and only spent a couple minutes at most and told me there was nothing he could do for me after multiple radiology studies on my last appointment with him...Said maybe I needed to see a neurologist...Nerve conduction study at the neurologist showed ridiculopathy right leg. I ended up moving from the area do to a career change in my family. Long story short I had 6 back surgeries and was later diagnosed with stage 4 Lyme disease and still in agony daily. Imho... I would recommend family members and friends to dr. BLAZAR. HE HAS been my dr. For over 20 yrs. He treated my knee, spinal surgery on my neck and treated my lower back just recently. Always made me feel great. Answer all my questions . He's the bests .Thank you Dr.Blazar for everything you done for me. You're truly a blessing.

Instant pain relief. Dr. Blazar operated on my back twice and each time I woke up out of pain. He has a great bed side manner (maybe some think he's rude, but he puts you at ease) and explains everything clearly. He is not "knife happy"; he encourages all methods of pain relief before suggesting surgery. I hope I don't need surgery again; but if I do; I pray he's still around. I've never had any type of surgery before so when I decided to move forward with L5-S1 discectomy I was a little nervous. Dr. Blazar made sure I understood my condition, the procedure and recovery completely. Six weeks post surgery I am pain free and resumed normal every day activities with no issues. Thanks again.

I have been a patient of Dr Blazar for the past 9 years,he is absolutely one of the finest and brilliant spine surgeon in RI.He is very knowledgeable,thorough,brilliant,professional and just spot on with his medical opinion/treatment and management.He was able to fix a HUGE mess other Doctor caused to my back,if not for him I don’t know what my situation would be right now.Dr Blazar has a great bed side manner,answers every questions/ concerns clearly and takes his time explaining.He is patient-first, he LISTENS to his patient, and makes you feel confident that you are in a good hands and less anxious.He tries all methods of pain relief before suggesting surgery and does not put his patient through unnecessary tests/procedures. I had an appt w/Dr Blazar for the first time in four years. He treated my problem at that time and I never needed further treatment. After reading some of these reviews I thought, he must have chg’d over the years. I was happy to see that he hadn’t chg’d at all. He was so kind, professional and as patient with me as he was four yrs ago. I would definately recommend Dr Blazar.

Had appointments with Dr. Blazer and Back Surgery 2weeks ago he is very attentive and compassionate, all went well and healing fine would recommend him to all. Can’t thank him enough for all he’s done for me. Thank you Doc!!!!!!

Found him to be arrogant, with an overinflated ego. (I refer to it as the God syndrome) which he is most certainly not. No respect for the patient . Less than 10 min spent . Would ask a question than put up his hand ok that’s enough said , answer what I ask u only. So after X-ray yes u have si joint problem, could try injection, to which I said yes being in terrible pain . So he said my staff will set it up and call u. No big surprise no one contact me at all 2. Weeks ago. Thank God after reading reviews no way would have him as a dr let alone surgeon. Whole visit total waste of time. Have a new doctor now very pleased so far already had mri. Don’t waste your time or money . Unless u want to be talked down to , and your questions not answered . Very poor patient care to say the least no compassion for someone that came to him for help. A real winner If there was a 0 that’s what I thought of him. Definitely would not recommend. Rather see a DVM, I’ve seen more compassion there.

I had an SI FUSION in August and after two years I’m out of pain. Dr Blazar was very through, Compassionate, never rushed my visit. I am a registered nurse and Dr Blazar is one of the only MD’S I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and would work for him in a second.

At 46 yrs old I was virtually paralyzed with a significant spinal issue. After a 6.5 hour surgery and a years worth of rehab, I was completely cured, although nothing came easy. Being cured allowed me to achieve more both personally and professionally. I owe that to the brilliance of Dr. Steven Blazar. Even now at 70 years old, I walk 2 miles every morning and count my blessings. There is no possible way I can thank him enough. To me, he is a god.

Dr. Blazar (and his office staff) treated me wonderfully! He took all the time I needed to answer my questions, and I feel great after my lumbar surgery! He has an excellent bedside manner, confidence and a great sense of humor that made me feel less anxious. I’d recommend him to anyone.

Just had an appointment with Dr Blazar. He was fantastic! Took us on time. Was so compassionate and professional! So thankful for his help! He is so truely one of the best Doctors we had ever seen! So thankful! He’s amazing!

Dr. Blazar is amazing...took me from agonizing pain to pain free after a complex back surgery.

My experiences with Dr. Blazar have been fantastic. I have been seeing Dr. Blazar since 1992 and I would tell anyone with a problem with their back to first go and see him. If I had not gone to see him when I did, I would not be walking today.

Appalling bedside manner seems to actually be his best quality. I was foolish enough to trust the referral to him as a surgeon. I suffer horrific post surgical complications 10 years later. Worst experience of my life

Run. His condescending attitude and narcissism are his best qualities. The details of my interaction with him are complicated but he butchered me. I’m still suffering 20 years later.

I walked out of his office and will not be returning. Enough said. Doesn't even deserve one star.

I was operated on in 2003 with a pinched nerve and protruding disc. At first I enjoyed his humor till I had questions and realized he never answers you he just makes everything into a joke! After surgery I have severe back and leg pain (didn't have much leg pain before) my foot was burning and my 2 toes on my left foot were numb along with the left side of my left leg. When I went to see him he told me the burning was normal and would go away. After a few months of it just getting worse along with sciatica that never went away for even 1 minute of relief. I went back to dr. Blazer who offered to do another surgery but I declined, I went to specialist in Boston who told me I have nerve damage in my left leg that wasn't there before. I'm now permanently disabled had to retire from a great job at 34 yrs old and ended up just staying in my home for years in pain, only leaving for doctor's appointments I'm now on pain management medication for the rest of my life...

This doctor is the scum of the earth. Should not be practicing medicine! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this troll!

I have been seeing dr blazar for 5 years now and he truly is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. He takes his time to listen to all my concerns, spends adequate time with me. Always greats me like a friend instead of just another case. I also like how instead of just trying to pump you full of meds he seeks other avenues of pain relief. If you are seeking opiates he definitely isn’t the guy for you and I think that is great, there are too many people with chronic pain and have become addicts becuse of the way doctors use to hand the stuff out like candy. My husband and I took his elderly mother to see Dr. Blazar for chronic pain she has in her back. He patiently listened to her, as she described her condition. I’ve seen Dr Blazar since October 2018. It started with a bulging disc in my neck which he fixed up 100%. My time with him has continued with my recent incident with a (L5-S1) herniated disc. I was in such excruciating pain, and literally could not walk. Dr. Blazar, in his humorous yet to the point manner made sure that my surgery was fast-tracked and I was taken care of. Dr Blazar completed a disc replacement/fusion for me 12/2018. He is very professional & his light humor helped me to overcome any anxiety I felt going into surgery. He took the time to explain in laymen’s terms so I understood exactly what the process looked like & what to expect in the aftermath. I highly recommend Dr Steven Blazar to anyone in search of a well qualified Orthopedic Surgeon. He is second to none.

Had a Very Positive experience. I found Dr Blazar to be outstanding with surgery and spending the time time to carefully diagnosis the problem. Unfeeling, arrogant. Doesnt take time to discuss anthing. But his staff was excellent. When i would call his secretary Sue...would call me back right away. She was probably the only one who cared about how much pain i was in. His MA was helpful at all.

Not only is Dr. Blazar rude but his secretary Sue is even worse. She is not professional, not helpful and over all not compassionate to the patients. I would not recommend this doctor or the office.

This doctor is rude he will operate on anyone even if they dont need it . He has no compassion for people in pain. I had two surgery with him I will not go back i now have pain management doctors and have to see a neurosurgeon to correct the mess he made.

Dr. Blazer is very rude, inpatient, abrupt ; he does not respect the patients input, he acts as if he is always right and that is all that matters is his opinion. I dreaded every visit, and each one was worse than the last. I had to keep my composure so I didn't look like a crazy lady when I wanted to let him have it, because he comes across as a bully. I am elated that I am done with Dr. Blazar.

Worst doctor I have ever been to. He gave my condition a wrong diagnosis and I was in pain for months for no reason. He should have his license revoked if possible

He is not someone I would recommend. While he has all the credentials, he was not there for me when I had questions after my first exam. His medical care did nothing to improve an acute but relatively simple and impeding ortho condition.

Dr. Blazar may be a good surgeon but the days he worked on me ruined my life for ever. I wish I had more than 500 characters to explain how he disregarded a blood clot I had in my leg, put holes in my spinal fluid sack that I end up transferring to another hospital to repair, damaged the nerve to my left leg and now I don't have any feelings to my left foot and part of my left leg. Because of all of those items I take 13 pills a day for pain management. I would never recommend him to anyone.

He talked me into the fusion surgery and then hit the S1 nerve in my right leg with one of the screws. I lost use of my right leg for a months and have required multiple surgeries by other doctors to try to alleviate the damage he's done. I have nerve damage in my leg that I'll suffer from for the rest of my life. The worst part is after I got the 2nd (emergency) surgery, he gave me the phone number to an SSDI lawyer. He's smarmy. He's incompetent. He shouldn't be allowed to practice.

My neck surgery performed by Dr. Blazar was a huge success. Dr. Blazar was a professional throughout my process. One of the things I liked most, was his sense of humor and making sure I was at ease with the procedure. He performed C4 C5 surgery on me in 11/5/14 Dr. Blazar told me I had pinched nerve of the neck therefore surgery would correct the problem. Prior to the surgery I only had neck pain and some pain on the back of my shoulder blade. I woke up paralyzed of my entire right side. The MRI show postoperative complication a spinal cord injury that was not present prior. He refused to claim any wrong doing today I am totally disabled nothing was fix I need help with all my ADL's I'm living only existing

my husband calls him the hands of god. he is the best.

Dr. Blazar uses sarcasm and jokes to ease his patients, which surprisingly helped my mom with her decision to treat her spinal stenosis.
