I thought at age 82 my eye problem was due to aging . Then, when I failed my peripheral eye exam , my ophthalmologist suggested and scheduled an appointment to have a consult with Dr. Covici .He thoroughly explained and relieved my anxiety.Without a doubt,I highly recommend Dr. Covic. I went to Dr Covici to see if he could do anything about my droopy eyelids. While one could be fixed, the other wasn’t bad enough to have Medicare cover the cost of the service. While I was disappointed, I found DrCovici to be kind and caring. He took the time to explain the why’s to me. I will try again next year.

I met with Dr. Covici back in December 2022 to talk with him about having surgery for the sagging pouches under my eyes, and my drooping upper eyelids. I always looked tired, and old. Although I still feel young at 63. After meeting with Dr. Covici I instantly knew that I wanted him to perform the surgery. He was very kind and reassuring. I felt comfortable with him right away. It's been 6 weeks since I had my surgery in Jan. 2023 and I am so pleased and extremely happy with the outcome! I would highly recommend Dr. Covici.

My first visit! Dr Covici is kind, professional, knowledgeable and definitely NOT pushy! Luckily it looks like my issue is not serious or in need of immediate treatment, so I will return for a check up in a few months. Won’t be experiencing “white coat syndrome” next time!

Dr. Covici removed a basal cell carcinoma from my lower right eyelid. You would never know I had surgery. It's only been three months and the scar is very faint. Dr. Covici is a very kind and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend him.

Dr Covici and his staff provided exceptional care to me before, during and after my surgery. They answered my questions thoroughly. I never felt rushed as we discussed the procedure and recovery. During the surgery they were clear about what was happening and attentive to my comfort and concerns. The post operative instructions were clear and detailed and helped me have an excellent recovery. Dr. Covici even called me later that evening after my surgery to check and see how I was doing and answer any questions. I had my consult with Dr. Covici and from day one one I knew I could trust him. My eyes were always swollen (leave it to my husband to tell me every day). Since the minute he introduced himself I had no doubt that I was going to be in good hands and that's exactly what happened. He performed a lower lid blepharoplasty and what a difference it made for my face and self confidence. I thought I had no problems until I saw my before and after pictures but, I guess when you are busy and going about your daily life you dhardly ever noticed those things. I have not had to wear eye concealer in the last 7 months and it feels great!!! Pain, don't worry about that, I was in a panick, that was my biggest fear and honestly there was none. In conclusion, from the beginning, the staff and everyone involved it was a great experience. Would I do it again if needed, definitely yes.

Getting a cancer diagnosis and needing eye surgery can be very scary and overwhelming. But having the best physician and his team can make all the difference in the world. Dr. Covici and his staff are kind, compassionate and professional. They treat you like you are the only patient they have and they spend as much time with you as you need. They set up all appointments with other physicians and take all the stress away from you. I would highly recommend them without hesitation.

Dr. Covici performed a wound closure on my lower eyelid after the Mohs procedure (basal cell carcinoma removal). I’m a 32 year old female who was so worried about the scar appearance. I am happy to report at 4 months post-op my scar is almost recognizable thanks to Dr. Covici (and appropriate post-op care performed by me, the patient). I am in the healthcare profession, and Dr. Covici has the best bedside manner that I’ve ever witnessed/experienced in my career. He genuinely cares and that was evident from the moment I met him.

10 months ago I had a blocked tear duct in my eye and I went to my first ophthalmologist who after trying unsuccessfully to treat it in his office told me that I needed to be transferred to the hospital for post-general anesthesia surgery, but I waited 8 months For a long time, I didn't get a notice of surgery, and my eye condition was getting worse and worse. My husband called the doctor and the doctor replied that there was a wait. I'm so disappointed and anxious, I don't know how long to wait? After waiting a whole month with discomfort in my eyes and scheduling an appointment I get a phone call explaining they cannot see me because my secondary insurance they do not accept. Rather then telling me this to begin with. So I wasted a whole month waiting for an appointment when I could have gone else where. Recently had eyelid tuck in both eyelids and eyebrow lift on one eye. Procedures were done together and in office. Didn’t know what to expect for pain. Absolutely so easy and pain free. Icing after is key. Dr Covici is a doctor who takes the time to listen to your needs, gives you options and performs the procedures with utmost skill and care. The entire staff are incredibly kind and give you so much information and really care about your outcome. The follow up care was just as flawless as procedures. Dr. Steven Covici was able to perform eye lids surgery on me on 3/24/21. My drooping eye lids were causing my lashes to go into my eyes reducing my vision. The staff at his office was wonderful and made sure I was icing my eyes after surgery to reduce swelling and itching. I was very happy to have a IV block so there was no pain with the surgery. The IV didn't even leave a bruise. I would recommend Dr. Covici to all my family and friends.

I had basal cell carcinoma on my eyelid. I had 2 surgeries in 1 day to remove a chunk of my eyelid and reconstruct with part of the eyelid from my other eye. Little did I know I was in the best hands (literally) possible from Dr. Covici to his staff. They made everything as smooth as possible to coordinating /organizing the surgeries, appts to support it, etc. Dr. Covici is very supportive and compassionate. His skills are off the chart....the results are perfect. No one can believe the bf and after pictures. He is the best!

Horrible I will never go back felt very unwelcome and am not satisfied with procedure that involved under eye filler instead of making client happy and satisfied they want more money for his mistake

Dr. Covici is awesome!!

I had reconstructive surgery on my lower eyelid after a skin cancer removal. To say I am thrilled with the results is an understatement! Dr. Covici is gifted, you cannot even tell which eye I had the surgery on! Not only is he skilled but more importantly he and his team are truly compassionate and care about their patients!

Dr. Covici recently performed eyelid surgery because my sight has been compromised by droopy lids. His entire staff was professional and courteous. Dr. Covici explained throughly how he was going to do the surgery and calmed any fears I had about having this done.The surgery went well, and the recuperation was fairly quick. I did exactly what the office recommended ( ice packs, no aspirin products, fresh fruit to reduce inflammation). Everyone who sees me now is impressed by the results. I highly recommend Dr. Covici and his staff.

Dr. Covici performed surgery on the lower eyelid of my right eye.I explained to him that I had an injury to my left eye when I was younger that greatly limits my vision in that eye.I was very concerned and nervous about the effect to my right eye.He took his time explaining everything he was going to do before and after the operation.His calmness and confidence made me feel better during the complete process.His team (especially Xinh)showed me the same which helped me through the whole experience. Dr. Covici is an outstanding Ophthalmologist who performed reconstructive surgery on the lower eyelid on my left eye. Not your usual, friendly ophthalmologist. Dismissive, unfriendly manner, brusque and not very nice when I told him that I didn’t have my records because my ophthalmologist had retired while I was out of state. Would never go back.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Covici. He performed an upper eyelid lift on my eyes and I was very satisfied with the entire procedure. Dr. Covici had the most wonderful bedside manner with son, immediately forming a relationship with him that allowed my son to feel safe with Dr. Covici (which is sometimes not so easy to do with a scared, skeptical 6 year old). It goes with out saying that his care that day, in the OR and at our follow up was more that outstanding, but what is more impressive is the relationship that he invested his time into that makes my son want to go to his follow ups. You rock!!!

Dr. Covici is an amazing doctor. He was kind gentle and explained everything to me. He treated me under unfortunate circumstances but nonetheless treated me better than many doctors I have seen.

Dr. Covici performed my three year old daughters tear duct surgery after a failed attempt by a surgeon before him. I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Covici. He is a wonderful man and Doctor with excellent bedside manner. Dr Covici is by far the most personable and experienced plastic surgeon in this area.I had upper eyelid surgery done with him and he walked me through every step of the procedure. Absolutely one of my best experiences with a medical professional. Dr. Covici is thorough, thoughtful, respectful, empathic and has a wonderful sense of humor. I met Dr. Covici in the spring of 2012, after almost a year of bulging eyes due to Graves’ disease/thyroid eye disease. My eyes hurt, looked awful, and made me feel extremely insecure despite being someone who didn’t care about appearances before I got sick. My friends and family who knew me before Graves’ all agreed that I looked very different. From the very first appointment, Dr. Covici reassured me that what I was feeling was normal – that no one in theirs 20s should have to go through what I had been through with visible proof all over my face. He assured that everything would be treated as medically necessary rather than cosmetic because this was due to a medical condition. He performed numerous tests and reviewed my long medical history to ensure I was ready for surgery. He also reviewed photos of my eyes and face before Graves’ so could see how drastically the disease had affected my eyes. He even brought one of the photos into the OR with him. In September 2012, Dr. Covici performed bilateral orbital decompression along with an ENT surgeon. We knew the risk of double vision was great due to the need to remove so much bone and fat from my orbit, but it was a risk I was comfortable taking and one that Dr. Covici approached with compassion and confidence. Fortunately, I woke up with single vision. The recovery process was quite extensive, but I immediately received compliments from people who could see that I had my “old eyes” back. My eyes no longer bulged, but my upper eyelids had stretched and retracted so much that I required an additional surgery to loosen and lower them. In July 2013, Dr. Covici performed a bilateral repair of upper eyelid retraction. Again, it was a medically necessary procedure performed in the hospital. The recovery was much easier and I am feeling great and definitely looking like my pre-Graves’ self. Dr. Covici and his staff have been so wonderful. From accepting my frantic phone calls the morning of surgery to allowing me to text them photos of my bruises to make sure it was normal, and rearranging their own schedules to accommodate my busy life. Dr. Covici is the first physician I felt truly listened to me and understood that my concerns were not cosmetic but vital to returning me to my previous self. I would highly recommend Dr. Covici to anyone with Graves’ disease, thyroid eye disease, Graves’ ophthalmopathy, proptosis, or eyelid retraction. Even if your eyes have not changed, it’s worthwhile to get some baseline tests and measurements so he knows exactly what he needs to do to return your eyes to their original state should anything change.
