Steven Goguen

I have always enjoyed going to the dentist, but this “guy” has absolutely ruined that for me. I was pre warned about his dry humor before my appointment. I learned quickly he didn’t even have dry humor. Steven was incredibly rude. I went in due to horrible tooth pain and was told from a previous dentist that I needed a root canal. I was taking Advil every 4 hours and was already miserable due to pain. I called EVERY dentist in town in hopes to get in for a same day appt, I was able to get an appointment at stevens office same day. Steven Goguen started off my appointment by saying “you’re only 29 and your teeth look like this?” And when I told him I was informed from a previous dentist that I needed a root canal he told me that i “wouldn’t be able to afford one” and that it would put me in a financial pit. He then proceeded to tell me that I have many other teeth I need to worry about. When I informed him that I wasn’t there for those teeth and that I was there for the one causing pain and wanted to get it fixed before going on vacation, he proceeded to grab my arm and say “oh I love you, you’re so hung up on the pain” needless to say I left the appointment extremely frustrated, upset and furious. And that’s only a fraction of what he said to me. I wasted my time leaving work early and especially wasted my time seeing this dentist. I ended up going to an amazing dentist in worcester, I got my tooth pulled and have never felt more amazing. I’m sure this review will get removed, so I’m leaving it on a weekend where it will hopefully stay up for a bit. * I will say the girl at the front desk who set me with my appointment was incredible and super friendly.

A good dental place to go

Dr. Goguen’s office is beautifully run!! Receptionists, hygienists, assistants are all professional, patient and kind. Dr. Goguen is a most excellent doc, treating from the origin of issues not just patching the problem, and he is a hoot!!! I am a bit of a baby at the dentist and I am very grateful and blessed to have found this dental gem!!

Dr. Grogan’s office staff are supportive and very professional. My first visit was the most comprehensive dental visit I’ve ever experienced. I went to this appointment with a lot of anxiety about my treatment plan but left knowing I have a team of support on my side. Dr. Grogan is hands-down, a gem and a fountain of knowledge. I’m so grateful to have a team that shares my health goals.

Have been a patient of Dr. Goguen for about 5 or 6 years now. He is always upbeat and professional. He is meticulous about his work and will always do the best thing for his patients. The rest of the staff, front desk, dental assistants, and dental hygienist are always welcoming and also professional and personable.

Everything about the office puts you at ease. From the cheerful front desk, the assistants to Dr. Goguen, everyone tries their best to make you feel comfortable and cared about. Going to the dentist is always hard with my anxiety and they not only made me feel welcomed but like they truly wanted to help. Highly recommend Dr Goguen and his amazing team.

Dr Goguen and all his staff are very knowledgeable, attentive to their patients needs and empathetic. My hygienist kept me aware of what she was doing, made me feel comfortable and at ease.

I always enjoy going to this dentist. The office is clean and light. His skills are excellent. He has lively conversations that make the experience enriching and help distract you from your possible discomfort. I would travel a long distance to go to Steven Goguen.

Such a kind, genuine, patient and thoughtful dentist. I have not let a dentist put novacain in my mouth in years; he did and I didn't even notice a thing. It was exactly how he said it was going to be. See this dentist, he will not disappoint.

I was concerned about a problem with my gum and tooth. I called and got an appointment the same day! Dr Goguen knew what was wrong quickly and refered me to a specialist for a root canal. Thanks for the fast service and referral! Kathy

Clean well organized office. Staff pleasant, Dr Goguen is kind, professional and very knowledgeable. Not only did Dr GOGEUN surpass my expectations he offers comic relief for the average person who is admittedly afraid of dentists in general. And his prices are incredibly affordable!

As a first time patient to Dr. Goguen’s office I am pleased to say it was an exceptional experience. I was warmly greeted as soon as I stepped into the office. My appointment began at the scheduled time and I had a very pleasant experience with the new patient “orientation” which allowed them to get to know me a little better. The dental assistant was very welcoming and helpful throughout the X-ray process and general new patient procedures. Once Dr. Goguen arrived I immediately felt like I was his top priority. He began by explaining his process and how it differed from most. Throughout the whole exam he took the time to explain any concerns he noticed and made sure to ask questions or get clarification on my answers. His knowledge and personality along with his awesome team made for a wonderful first trip back to the dentist. I look forward to seeing him and his team for many visits to come! The reasons why his office, staff, and work are praiseworthy are indeed many, however; my last dealing with him was not. While I have many a reason to praise Dr. Goguen, I cannot as a result of our final interactions. It seemed that all good things that had charmed me and my family, melted away as a result of two separate, but related events. There is no point of venting, I only tell you: be careful of flattering talk and sales presentations to drive you to spend what you do not have or do not want to. And if you decide you will not, or cannot, it appears, at least to me, personal attacks will follow should you fail to accept the Doctor's "advice." Me and my family have been coming here for several years now and I only have good things to say about dr goguen and his entire staff. It's nice to have an office full of wonderful and caring people. I can't say enough about the level of care you receive here. I will continue coming here for many more years.

Dr. Goguen and everyone in his practice are the best! Always professional, and caring. Patients are treated like family. Dr Goguen also takes his practice seriously by always being up to speed on the latest in his field. I recommend him to everyone without reservation.

I have been to quite a few dentists, growing up I had braces, and then after moving I tried a few different ones. All of them, gave me tremendous attitude over the smallest of mistakes that I did. Then upon losing insurance for years, I never went back and my mouth took the hit hard. If I went to any of them now, I would absolutely deserve it. Seeing Dr Steven for the first time, I expected the absolute worst, but instead I was taught about how everything works, and after very respectfully being told that to fix everything was going to be an ordeal, he went right into business. I ended up getting my first root canal a couple years ago and it went stellar. I'm now going for a second and soon to be third one, but I have all the faith in the world that not only will it be done right, but it will be done with respect that I never got from any other dentist. As someone terrified of the dentist, I can say enough about how great this office is. They are very real and very dedicated to doing what is best for each individual person. The first exam for new patients is extremely comprehensive. I learned a lot. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff, a quiet atmosphere and a talented dentist come together for an awesome experience. Treatment is very individualised with the patient’s needs financially and for physical comfort assessed and met. So grateful to have found SPG dental for my whole family.

It's always a pleasure visiting Dr. Goguens office. People are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Waiting time is usually pretty good. Only 5-10 minutes if that. Facility is spotless. I highly recommend Dr Steven P. Goguen and his staff for all your dentistry needs!

I love going here. Everyone is very polite and care about your comfort. I used to be petrified about going to the dentist ( from childhood bad experience)but I am very relaxed when I go here.Dr. Goguen is caring and keeps you relaxed with his conversation even though it’s one way. Dr. Goguen has to be the best dentist in the Spencer/Brookfields area. He is one the very few dentists that I know that will work with the patient to do the work that should be done right away and tell you what work can be done later. He and his staff, I feel, treat you as a person and not just the next number. I would definitely give a rating of 5 stars if he offered services on Fridays. He deserves at least 4.5 stars!! When my permanent retainer wire broke on a Thursday he was able to get it fixed for me the same day. Otherwise I would have had to wait until Monday since they are closed Fridays.

Went to his office for a broken tooth, basically in tears from fear and pain. The hygienist was great, Dr. Goguen was super informative and eased a lot of my fears. As someone who has always had issues with dentists, I am thrilled to be taken care of by this facility. Everyone is very sweet and I would highly recommend them.
