Dr Petit is the only GI specialist, after seeing many GI specialist, was one who has taken the patience and persistence in dealing with my special situation after a major surgery (i.e. esophagectomy with colon interposition and stomach resection) which is a very rare procedure. Since the surgery 16 years ago I've experienced numerous complications from 24/7 abdominal pain, dumping syndrome, bleeding leaks and many others. Dr Petit hasn't stopped addressing the issues and justifying with medical insurance the need for various medical intervention. Personally, Dr Petit is a one in million MD and wished we had more MDs like him.

My husband had an endoscopy procedure done and the result (H-Pylori) is what we were told by the physician's assistant. Took all prescribed medicine. In the meantime, he hasn't been able to eat, empty his bowels, lost 29 pounds, and he's literally fading away and the only contact person in this office is the Dr.'s assistant - 2,5 months wait time to see the good old Dr. Pettit. What's the good of being a good doctor if not within reach. Staff is unprofessional, leave you on hold for very long times, transfer you back and forth, and bottom line is, we can't seem to get any proper diagnosis thru them. We've had a horrible experience. I have never met, nor have I been a patient of Dr. Steven Petit M.D. However, I feel obligated to make this review. Over two months ago I needed services and care of a Gastroenterologist in an urgent matter. Dr. Petit was highly recommended by a former patient's family, and a non-related Dr. … Here are my major areas of concern, and disappointments with his practice: 1- Reaching his office by phone is a task by itself. Wait times (on hold) exceeds 15 minutes till someone answers the phone, that is if the call is not disconnected. Two out of four calls were dropped. 2- Even on urgent care matters, the good doctor cannot see patients for over THREE & HALF MONTHS. However, a telephonic visit (Televisit!!!) can be arranged within TWO MONTHS (Month & 21 days to be exact) When I need a doctor, especially in an urgent care matter, I need to be taken care of within a reasonable time, and not three and half months later, or even month and half later with a phone call (Costing several hundred dollars) I did make an appointment at the time, however, since my medical condition was remedied by other means and avenues, today I cancelled my appointment with the good Dr. … I will never seek, nor recommend services of this BUSINESS. I had a second opinion visit via telephone with Dr. Petit on April 20, 2020. Dr. Petit had been my gastrologist for several years when I lived in the Pasadena area. I was hesitant to proceed with Z-POEM procedure for Zinker's Diverticulum @ UCIMC with Dr. Kenneth Chang. Dr. Petit assured me this was a prudent solution to my problem and that Dr. Chang was well-known for this procedure.

Dr. Petit is always concerned and attentive. He takes the time to thoroughly explain procedures and results. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Petit was instrumental in saving my wife's life when she was hospitalized in 2010. He has treated me recently, and his treatment has produced a dramatic improvement in my condition.

Calm, pleasant, persuasive, thorough. Knows what he's doing. Long-time patient. Hope the good doctor doesn't retire soon. His clinic on Valley in Pasadena is the cleanest place I've ever been to anywhere. Amazing!

Very impressive experience with Dr. Petit on my first visit. He spent a good amount of time with me as patient. He listened to what I presented to him the report from my previous procedures. He does have a sense of humor.

Dr. Petit is an awesome doctor. He takes his time with you and really cares about your concerns. You never feel like he wants to get you in and out like other doctors offices. His staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

A family member, reluctant to seek care that was necessary, received welcome and comfort by all staff and Dr. Petit (who was highly recommended by several internists to both family and me). You will be very happy to find such a GI team. My family member and I no longer worry about getting the care --- Dr Petit is suberb, experienced, highly trained, and a great listener who helps the patient focus on solutions and feel calm about the process. Do use the online portal explained to you by staff. The portal allows you to send messages to Dr Petit, to which he responds, and to schedule appointments, and access notes on consultations, test results, and lab reports, as well as seeing upcoming appointments. Of course, you may also call the office, even after using the portal. If you don't like using a computer, don't worry. Just make your appointment and you will be very glad . Dr. Petit is through, patient and kind. Recently saw him regarding ruling out metastasis of cancer. Can not relay how comfortable I felt with him.

Dr. Petit is wonderful. I have been going to him for many years. He gives you as much time as you need and really listens to you. He always solves my problems. He is a gem.

I have been a patient of Dr. Steven Petit for more then several year with my experience with this Doctor have been one of the best Doctor of Gastroenterology that I have with him and his Staff this office is a very efficiently and would recommend anyone to him.

First, I very rarely post a review however Dr. Stephen Petit deserves to be highly recognized for the quality of medical care he has and continues to provide. Dr. Petit brings to his patients a long history of medical practice experience and background obtained not only from a stellar medical school education and patients served thereafter but from childhood everyday experiences and observations provided by his father who remains a highly respected physician among his peers. Dr. Petit has always attended me with patience, listens well and responds without delay whenever I have had a need or concern. I highly recommend that you consider Dr. Stephen Petit for your Gastroenterology problems. Dr. Petit and the Gastroenterology group of which he is a part provide a vast array of group knowledge and work together to share that knowledge as needed to address a specific medical problem. Refreshing to meet a doctor that take some time to get to know you. Dr. Petit was very professional and easy to talk with. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great Gastroenterologist.
