Dr. Stetson did my LASIK surgery in his Paramus NJ office. He was amazing. For a doctor who cares for as many patients as he does the doctor is incredibly attentive and very cautious. He answered all of my questions and concerns and even did a few extra tests to make absolutely sure I could have the procedure done safely. To give you an idea of his level of skill, my fiance was with me. He was able to guess her prescription within a single point at a glance from five feet away, and was able to look at scans and tell me not only that I rub my eyes, but what part of my finger I used and exactly how I rub them. The man is a borderline superhero. The staff in the office was friendly and knowledgeable. I had no problems with scheduling or having general questions answered. The office was very clean, orderly and modern. The surgery itself only took a few minutes. It's a very weird experience, but it doesn't hurt. They will give you the option of taking an Ativan before hand to make it easier. They sell Optase eye drops for $25 which is the same as they cost on Amazon. Get a bottle. My vision was much improved almost immediately and after a few days I was 20/20. Before the LASIK I was 20/250 and 20/300 with +2 asigmatism in both eyes, so it was a lot of correction. My vision has never been 20/20 even with glasses on, so I see now significantly better than I ever have even with glasses on or contacts in. It is wild. Dr. Stetson is amazing and did an incredible job on my eyes. I couldn't be happier. My advice is don't wait. Every contact lens and pair of glasses you buy is just more money wasted. LASIK is more effective, cheaper in the long run, and VASTLY safer than contact lenses (you are 33x more likely to go blind from a contact lens infection than you are from LASIK). Also, buy a pair of wrap around safety glasses or clear ski goggles (if you can sleep on your back) to sleep in after the procedure. You will need it for a few weeks. I found it far easier and more comfortable than the tape on shields they used. Do not settle for a cheaper and less reputable doctor. These are your eyes. I had my Lasik done at Dr. Stetson's office in Paramus NJ and it was the most breathtaking experience ever. First he has the most friendly staff, they really make you feel at home. Very knowledgeable in every question I had. The procedure only took 10 minutes and I'm glasses free. Amazingly I ended up with 20/20 vision.
