Dr. Steven J Vanderby

Most of my office visit were good.. I havent seen dr in awile after my reaction to moderna vac. seems like I cant get a call back from this office to schedule appointment. My problem is I've been effected with covid and needed to know what to do to help recover. I have left a number of messages with no response. Their hours are being cut seems like mabe Dr is getting ready to retire. JCm

Doctor Stevens seems OK I've only had one visit with him. The the office staff is probably overwhelmed because I have not gotten any phone calls to update any labs that have been done. I have to keep calling every day to find out you will not get a call back.

Very thorough and takes his time with you!

They do not even return a call, no doctor home at this office. Front desk staff rude and ignorant.

They wouldn't call in a prescription for PHENOBARBITOL for me unless I come in the office! I am an epileptic and have been out of them for 5 days now. I will have seizures soon if I don't get them. I was just in their office 6 weeks ago. I am a 67 year old recent cancer survivor and am worried about catching Covid 19...I've been on this med for 25 years. I never ask for pain medication or really anything. Time to look for a new doctor...I strongly do not recommend this office...and not just for this!!

I’ve been seeing Dr Vanderby for over 20 years. He listens and pays attention to your problems and then is excellent at diagnosis. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!

TERRIBLE office staff. I didn’t call the doctor to be mocked and treated like an idiot. Shame on your staff.

Where to start....So when I walked in 20 mins before my appointment time (06/11/2020) nobody greeted me. I was filling out the paperwork and realized I forgot my insurance card at home, and the receptionist said she would have to cancel my appointment because of that. I asked her to look up my BCBS member number, or if and she could wait a minute or two for me to call and get it...and she said she wasn’t able to do that or wait for me. Another team member I guess helped her, and shortly before I left she said “Oh wait I found it”. And didn’t apologize. I got called into the room when it was my turn, and the office didn’t even have an actual professional scale...they literally had a tiny bathroom scale that you can purchase at Walmart. It was inaccurate by about 10 pounds. When I got into the room and saw Dr Steven Vanderbilt, he talked to me about his grandkids for 10 mins and showed me pics, then checked my ears with a tool with NO protective cover on it, and put it back on the rack without cleaning it. I came to the dr to get a standard blood panel, so they ordered my test to quest diagnostics and sent me on my way. Once I got to quest diagnostics, the lady who was administering the test was confused because dr Vanderbilts office sent a request for a CEREBRAL SPINAL FLUID test by mistake. ????????????????????? The office was under-equipt, only one staff member had a mask, and Dr. Vanderbilt didn’t wear gloves. I am never going back there again.

Always listens and always does a follow up.very pleasant personality

I been been a patient of Dr. Vanderby for years. I think he has is a wonderful and quite caring doctor. Staff comes and goes. Some are amazing, some are just okay and yes I have run into some rude front desk staff. But like any other business that personally doesn’t last. I will say I have never had a negative experience with the doctor. He listens to me, does not belittle my aches and pains. He is not a stuffy doctor, so easy to talk to. Also, my wait times have never been more then 5 days and if it is a pressing issue they get me in right away. I recommend him all the time to my friends as well as my clients. 1 star doesn't even cut it for this place. I've been going here for a few years for 6 month checkups for simple prescription refills. My insurance changed and my options were limited. I ended up going to a clinic and receiving much better care. The staff is so rude, especially the nurse, Jackie. How fitting she's named that. He doesn't even ask me any questions on how I am, it's so impersonal. I thought I had a blood clot from a surgery I had not by him, all he did was grab my calf I said "ow" and he sent me to get tested. Didn't even examine the area I HAD SURGERY ON. Then he would have noticed my seroma that the clinic found and drained easily and quickly. I can't even put into words how much I hate this place. For the father with the high BP and kidney disease, I'm so sorry that happened to you. Please REPORT HIM! my issues aren't able to hold up, but yours are. I've been a patient of Dr Vanderby for 11 years. In the beginning it was great the office staff was really friendly and Dr. Vanderby would sit and actually talk to you. My last few visits have not been that pleasant the office staff is very rude and Dr. Vanderby does not seem to care any longer. Time to look for a new doctor.

I moved to Florida without insurance and I needed a doctor to refill my blood pressure medications. From the first visit, it was clear Dr. Vanderby wasn't a very caring doctor. He spent most of the visit lecturing me on Donald Trump fixing health insurance while bragging to me how he has friends and family who are all doctors and he can go to them for free. Must be nice. Especially when he charges non-insurance people $180 for a first visit and $90 for every other visit after. He might have spent 120 seconds with me on each visit. The women at the front desk are rude and make you feel like you're bothering them, especially when you talk to them on the phone. I wouldn't suggest him based on my two years of going there. Outstanding doctor!

People should listen to their doctor and take his advice, otherwise STOP COMPLAINING, that you didn't get the "service" you wanted. People wouldn't have to wait to be seen if they were on time. We are no longer going to Vanderby. He isn't friendly, no smiles. I was just another co-pay. Asks minimum questions, and we both felt like a bother. As a nurse for 15 years taking care of trauma, critical care, and cardiac patients, he has proven to not keep his word of professional courtesy. (COME ON I've earned it!) I don't need an MD to look at my husband to say, "yep, you have back pain". His door is always open and easy to get an appt. and I can see why.

This doctor has only been requiring my father to come in once a year for a checkup. My father has Chronic High Blood Pressure. You do the math. I researched his previous lab results over the past 5 years- he has NEVER increased his BP med! He NEVER told my mother he had early stage of Kidney Disease! My father had a hemorrhagic stroke last month which has left him dealing with Severe Global Aphasia. He can't read. He can't write. He can't remember who I am. 1 star is too much.

My stupid insurance has left me with little options but this is too little. He's terrible and no bedside manner and always rushed. I am leaving this place immediately. Just pick someone else... ANYONE else!

My husband and I both saw Dr. Vanderby for about 6 months and, after some debate, decided to find another physician. He didn't seem to care about us or our treatment and was consistently brusque. No real complaints about our care, which is why he gets two stars. But care is also about the therapeutic relationship between the healer and the patient. He must've missed those classes in medical school.

Love the doctor, seems like office staff is too busy to follow up, perhaps understaffed. Staff member told me to they didn't have time to help with a call for a prescription refill. Made me feel like I was asking too much when I asked for assistance.
