Stuart Barry Goodman

I had my knee replaced by Dr Goodman 6 years ago. I am pain free and can run if I am ever in a situation where I need to run! The key after surgery, is like he said, to work the knee with physical therapy and make sure to get the range of motion.i did what he advised and now I can bend it way back and straighten it as straight as a stick. He's brilliant and the best in my book!

On June 30, 2011 Dr. Goodman revised my left hip replacement. I had been suffering with a loose prosthetic stem in my femur since the original proceed in the fall of 2008. I'm walking well, doing yoga with a pain free hip and femur. If not for Dr. Goodman I would be in a wheelchair or dead. His bedside manner and professionalism is IMHO unparalleled. Dr. Goodman is a superb orthopedic surgeon. He did a knee replacement for me and I couldn't be happier with the results. I am grateful to Dr. Goodman and his team for providing me with such excellent care. Dr. Goidman is the absolute BEST, and I will be forever thankful to him for giving me the ability to return to an active lifestyle.

My husband will never walk again without assistance and terrible leg pain. None of which was present before surgery. His life and our lives have deteriorated as a result of Goodman's poor work. We once had fairly active lives, now my husband can only sit to avoid severe muscle pain. That is his life now, nothing but sitting to avoid excruciating pain. What was to be a routine hip replacement has left my husband a cripple. Goodman's surgery has ruined his retirement and our family life. We all suffer watching him suffer. He is unable to do simple activities we used to share together, gone forever. No more tossing a football in the backyard, no more walks, no more swims in the sea, nothing. My poor husband. Dr. Goodman handled both my total left hip replacement and my right knee replacement. The hip went well, and my new knee is phenomenal. I went from only being able to bend it 90 degrees up to being able to bend it120 degrees. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Dr Goodman completed my left hip replacement on 1/11/19, and it went perfectly! The Stanford nursing team were also phenomenal in their after-surgery-care. I stuck with all the therapy protocols, and now at three months, I'm playing my third round of golf! My previous pain throughout the day and night is gone! I am so thankful I found Dr. Goodman. I had hip dysplasia and my hips wore out and I needed to have them replaced at a bit younger age (57 for the left hip, 59 for the second). Before my first hip replacement I could only walk one block. He completely changed my life! He is an excellent surgeon and a warm person. Thank you Dr. G!

Right DX, yet unwillingly to do THR for a 49 YO patient with Dysplasia, FAI and OA. He should retire. Honestly, he told me to live with pain and modify my life more, even though I have been living with significant mobility issues for over a decade. No offer of help other than NSAIDS and PT. He said my “hips were too healthy for replacement?” No MRI ordered. I had successful bilateral replacements at Cedars-Sinai in 2019. Shame on Stanford.

Dr. Goodman gave me my life back. I am so grateful for his talent. He corrected my botched knee replacement that was originally done in Fresno. His revision left me with a stable and pain free knee. I never expected my results to be this fantastic! He is well worth the drive.

Dr Goodman completed my Left hip replacement on 5/1 and it went better than expected! Dr. Goodman corrected another surgeon's total knee replacement in Fresno, CA. I lived with considerable pain for 3.5 years. I also lost my ability to walk safely. My knee was collapsing and as a result, I was falling. Dr. Goodman's talent has given me an entirely new outlook on life. He made the appropriate surgical corrections. My outcome is beyond fantastic. Thank you Dr. Goodman.

I had my hip replacement when I was 26 years old because of Hip Dysplasia. I am much worse than I was before. I believe I was taken advantage of and was forced to have the surgery. I would highly recommend a second opinion. I am very depressed and unhappy with my results.

Dr. Goodman is a very good knee and hip replacement surgeon. He did my right hip and both knee's over the last five years with no complants from me. He conveys confidence and communicates well with his patients. What more could you ask of your doctor.

Dr. Goodman is a world expert and thought leader on materials and mechanics of major joint replacements, especially in the hips. He corrects cases that have been poorly managed. It does take a while to get in for a consult, but once you're in, his office, nurses and residents will take great care of you.
