Dr. Sumithira Vasu

Could not have been worse. My wife felt that Dr Vasu “shut down” As soon as she said she didn’t like the drug she was studying. A few days later, Louise was admitted to the James after being misdiagnosed and to my knowledge DR Vasu never visited once that entire week. She felt Dr Vasu abandoned her and that she was being passed around to others on a daily basis. Imagine our surprise when Louise died suddenly of pulmonary embolism (NOT pneumonia as we were told) in a hematology oncology hospital. I cannot tell you how heartbroken and disappointed I am and how much Louise had placed her hopes with these people.

Dr. Vasu cares. She is an expert in Hematology/Transplant, knows her skill and is right on top of my medical needs, but most importantly she cares.

Dr, Vasu is a very caring and professional doctor. She always takes the time to explain things and I feel her excellent care saved my life after I was diagnosed with AML. I am very grateful to her and her staff.

Dr. Vasu is brilliant and has a quiet, calm, in-control beside manner. Perfect combination for a patient and family facing cancer.
