Susan Mayo

I am Eric, and I had a telehealth appointment with Dr. Susan Mayo today. I am an African American southerner with a heavy accent and feel as though my health concerns were merely a form of entertainment to her. I needed to repeat myself as she was preoccupied with other things, she was late to my appointment, and spoke very fast, with no care or purpose. Her tone was very dismissive and belittling as she continued to overtalk me, just to wrap things up with me. My ancestors were treated like 2nd rate citizens, as it was acceptable back in that time. However, not in this day and age, that time is long gone. Dr, Mayo needs to be respectful and professional with all people of all backgrounds. As a student doctor myself, her professionalism and care needs a refresher course. She seemed burned-out and just going through the motions of performing her duties as a doctor. She pushed anxiety prescriptions more than once, and that is not what I need or want.

Explains things well. Has new ideas to treat my condition.. She is very knowledgeable. I recommend her.

Dr Mayo is a wonderful doctor whose knowledge is only surpassed by her patience. She explains everything well, and has practical suggestions for living a better and healthier life. I always feel better after an appointment with her. And her nurse Katie is charming and competent.

Stay away from this doctor. Missed the fact that my dads cancer came back. (Another doctor us an X-ray taken a year earlier showed a mass. ) Said he was tired because he was depressed and needed a phychiatrist. Instead of thinking that the first most likely cause was the return of his cancer. Three months later my dad was dead.

I've seen Dr. Mayo for 10 years. I would recommend her however I don't think she takes new patients. She's treated me for everything from a common cold to well visits. Nice office but very hectic. Staff is nice.

As a new patient many years ago with Dr. Mayo, on my initial visit the doctor was concerned about the lab reports were showing, and asked that I have further labs done. In doing so it was determined that I had a life threatening illness which with her help has been reversed. I owe Dr. Mayo my life.
