Four years ago my daughter was diagnosed with Graves disease. Dr. Jackman at first seems pleasant enough; but, that changed . The real concern is that she doesn't give any information whatsoever as to guidance. When she told us about Graves, she met our expected questions with grazing over. When I probed for further direction she acted put off. Some of the information she gave us was incorrect. She stated that she didn't know why my daughter was gaining weight (as most with hyper thyroid lose weight) but when I researched it with others who had it- many gained weight. She also stated that my daughters severe mood changes were not related-- but that was incorrect as well. Graves effects hormones and can have a direct effect on moods. She acted as if it were "bad parenting" versus dealing with a disease. No parent who loves their child should be made to feel that way. Ask yourself if your child had a disease how you would want her treated and your family treated. At the time Dr. Jackman was the only provider for my childs insurance. She now has another Dr. and it's made all the difference in the world. I really wish we had changed years ago.....it would have made her life so much more easy and enjoyable . Dr Jackman is very kind and knowledgable about diabetes. I've been seeing her for 3 years (I'm 18 now, she will see me until I'm 21) and I have nothing but good things to say about her.

My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 in October 2015. We are very thankful and blessed that Dr. Jackman was the pediatric endocrinologist available at that moment. She and my daughter connected very well and even though there are pediatric endocrinologists closer to our home, my daughter insists on driving to St. Pete to see Dr. Jackman.
