I had a horrible experience with Dr Shea Red Bluff Womans Health Specialist. I went for ultrasound and was confirmed that I miscarried at 4months ( my midwife Pamela Stuart who I trusted and preferred was not in that day) He then scheduled me for a dnc which I wasn’t not clear on understanding at the time what he would be be doing I was so emotionally stressed. Then during dnc he did not actually remove the baby as was supposed to have been done. A week later I had to go to ER because pieces of the baby was coming out. They had to fly me to UC davis. I was told I should sew them but I was too emotionally unstable. Now that I am in a better position to express myself. I know what he did was wrong. 2 days after the surgery they received the labs that stated no fetus was present just blood. Why did Dr Shea if Red Bluff not check on me. Why is after they received the labs he did not get me back to the office. Nothing. I waited 2 years to file a suit they told me I was too late. So I put in 2 complaints with the health board and no word.

I have been going to Dr Shea since I was pregnant in 2006. I had a wonderful experience with the c-section and tubal ligation he preformed. In 2023, he was my surgeon for a total hysterectomy. I feel comfortable and at ease while I am at the office for exams or at the hospital for surgeries. I absolutely trust Dr Shea and I feel well informed to make choices and ask questions about my health. I am grateful to be a patient.

I had a tumor to be removed. Along with the tumor, it was necessary to remove an ovary and a fallopian tube. Every question I had was barely answered. He treated me as if I was trying to get more time off work, get extra pain medication or was wasting his time. When I had questions about the amount of pain I was in, he never asked how much pain I was in, what type of pain it was, or when I was in pain. He just said it was normal. He used staples instead of sutures which were very painful during recovery and at removal. When my mother asked questions he was disrespectful and condescending. He stated that he would refill my pain medication but never did. He made a point to state several times how much belly I had after removing the staples and attempting to apply steri strips. To be fair I'm alive and that's the most important part of the doctor's job. But if I had a choice of doctors I would never let this man touch my body again. I had a tumor to be removed. He was very nice at the beginning but I had complications in my delivery he wasn’t even there when I delivered my baby he just went to go visit me one time out of 8 days that I was at the hospital I had complications definitely do not recommend If your at risk. I don’t even recommend the hospital I had high blood pressure and they induced me and I asked for the epidural and it took them 1 hr and a half to get there to the point we’re the epidural didn’t even work on me and there is a lot more but I definitely do not recommend Dr. Shea or the hospital. Doctor Shea has been my OB for 10 years! In that time he has successfully helped me deliver four healthy children. He was also extremely informative and considerate when I made the decision to have my tubes tied.

He was super nice and caring when I first met him and then I had complications on a surgery he did and then he wanted nothing to do with me. I went to my post op appt with him and he was condescending and was contradicting everything he was saying to me. Wouldn't sign long term care papers for my husband to be able to take care of me eventhough I had proof and notes from several ER dr that clearly stated I was in need of care he would only sign for 2 weeks and nothing more. He was super nice and caring when I first met him and then I had complications on a surgery he did and then he wanted nothing to do with me. I went to my post op appt with him and he was condescending and was contradicting everything he was saying to me. He Very Caring & He Takes His Time With You & Makes Sure That You Understand Everything He Delivered My 1st Son & He Is Now Going To Deliver My 2nd Son I Highly Recommend Dr Shea

I am not one to do this but I was seriously appalled at Dr.Sheas bed side manner. My first appointment was great, he was very nice. But the second I brought up my exsisting condition, type 1 diabetes, and expressed my concerns with a miscarriage while working, as it can be common he was very rude. Simply told me I've had it my whole life and anything that happens is just a side affect of being pregnant. He sees my condition just like he would back pain and there is going to be no special treatment. I didn't want special treatment, I wanted my baby to be safe. Beyond unnerving for a first time type 1 diabetic mom who has been considered an "at risk pregnancy" in the offices since week 6. Definitely do not reccomend for anyone who is "at risk." I am not one to do this but I was seriously appalled at Dr.Sheas bed side manner. My first appointment was great, he was very nice. Amazing doctor! He has delivered both of my children and if I were to get pregnant again his office would be my first call! Thank you Dr. Shea!!

Dr Shea is the S#%+!!!;an extremely good Dr. I have just given birth to my seventh baby (6 doctors) and Dr Shea was hands down the best Dr ive ever dealt with. Extremely caring and compassionate. HIGHLY recommended!!!!

Dr. Shea is a wonderful Doctor. Let me say that if you are easily offended by straight forward talk then I don't recommend you see him. He is kind but direct. He cares for his patients and he is very professional. He will always answer your questions if you ask and what I love about him and his office staff is that they are always on time or extremely close to on time with every appointment I have had.

Received a very disrespectful and patronizing call during my second pregnancy about my choice of a homebirth VBAC. My choice was 100% informed but they tried getting me to go to them again. They don't truly care about mom and baby but just want your money (or to avoid a lawsuit perhaps). Never going there again except to show off my adorable healthy VBAC baby who was born at home without a single complication.

I tried to get a hold of Dr. Shea for two weeks due to bleeding, cramping, and fainting. The receptionists kept telling me they'd leave a note on his desk and he'd call me back as he was with a patient. I never got a call. It was becoming clear they were avoiding me. I finally talked to him and he told me he wasn't in a position to tell me what to do with my pregnancy(as I asked what I needed to do to stop the complications) and recommend I find a new doctor and hung up.
