Dr. Thomas A Ambrose II

Poor bedside manner and aggressive with his opinions. Gives outdated and sometimes poor treatment advice. He might be a good surgeon, but take anything he says with a grain of sand and be your own advocate.

I was skeptical about my initial visit to Dr Ambrose. I thought it went well until I learned that after telling me that he was referring me to another Dr and I would be hearing from that Dr and Bone Health, that never happened. After a week went by, I called the referred Dr's office and they never received the referral. Is this the medical profession these days or Avera? Now I must wait 2 months for an appointment!

Mr. Ambrose is an egotistical, arrogant, toxic man. He treated me as though I was inferior, and couldn’t possible be injured. This man allowed me to walk out of his “care” with a broken foot. His “examination” consisted of him asking me to walk across the room to see my ability to walk, and then followed up with saying my walk was the worst attempt at looking like something was wrong with me that he’s ever seen. He threw papers at me, mocked me, and told me to see a psychiatrist, because there was nothing wrong with me. Because of this mans arrogance, and need to feel superior, I walked on a broken foot for 6 weeks, until another physician in the SAME office, correctly diagnosed and is now treating my foot. This man should not be allowed to see patients, or practice any type of medicine. Simply disgusting.

Bedside manner is awful. Will never recommend him, nor will ever see him again. Wasted visit. Arrogant and not easy to talk to or approachable.

Dr. Ambrose is excellent. He is very thorough and explains the reasons for procedures very well. My surgery and recovery far exceeded my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend him. He is AWESOME!

Having hip surgery was the smartest thing I ever did. I feel like new!

My hip replacement experience was very good. Well worth the time so I could get back to life and ride motorcycle with my husband. The intense learning all the way trough was great.

It has been 6 months since my hip replacement and it is wonderful. No more living with pain 24/7. Avera Orthopedics/Dr. Ambrose are great.

Reviews expectations of disease process- much appreciated. Excellent "hands on" exam with thorough review by both the PA and Dr. Ambrose. Very good teaching and explanation of condition with reference to the x-ray, anatomy, and disease process.

Overall my experience has been positive. At one point Dr. Ambrose suggested I may not be able to walk again without a walker, but that only served as motivation for me to work harder and now I am well on the way to walking without an assistive device. I am very happy with the progress I've made. I truly feel Dr. Ambrose saved my life.
