Dr. Ellis took time with me, he wasn’t rushed. He throughly explained my specific situation and acknowledged I was a huge part of the decision making. He also acknowledged deciding on a treatment plan is a lot to think about.

He was able to diagnose the problem several other doctors missed. Very grateful.

Dr. Ellis replaced one of my hips. He did a phenomenal job. He is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable physician. He takes time to sit down and explain everything to you. He wants to really be certain you understand and are completely comfortable with what he is explaining. He calls before and after the surgery to ensure there are no additional questions or concerns. I had an issue my first day post op. I called the on call surgery number, they contacted Dr. Ellis right there on the phone and he put me at ease and took care of the problem. I would recommend anyone to go to him for any hip issues. His NP and office staff are also great!

I was truly impressed by Dr. Ellis. After being told that BOTH of my hips were shot by a different orthopedic specialist, I was beyond thrilled with Dr. Ellis when he told me that they were both fine and that some PT and strengthening would be all I need to get myself stronger and pain free. He was super thorough, spent plenty of time with me and really had my best interest in mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and family and in fact, I already have. Dr Ellis is fantastic. I have been seeing him for my hip pain at his Dublin office. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient. He presents all options clearly and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and ensures that all questions are answered. I work in a large hospital and he has the best bedside manner of any surgeon I’ve ever encountered. His MA Kadijah and his PA Tiffany are also excellent. Dr. Ellis did SUCH an amazing job with my surgery. I had a PAO and was very nervous about this procedure. He took the time to sit down with me for an hour and explain everything, despite the fact that he had other patients. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns as if I was a child of his own. Post-op I had to call him on a Sunday and he answered like it was nothing. I am now 6 weeks post-op and doing amazing. I would choose Dr. Ellis time and time again if I needed to. He is a great doctor and I have no regrets getting this surgery!!

Excellent physician.

Great doctor and great staff. I had a total hip replacement and my experience from beginning to end could not have gone better. I am eight weeks post surgery and I feel amazing. Recovery was a breeze!!

Follow up on surgery performed 6 years ago.

I went in for a second time, first time I saw a different doctor. This time I found out Dr. Ellis switched to Ortho One. I went in with expectations he would be thorough. He took the standard hip xrays that he likes, but couldn’t see anything that stuck out. I advised him I had an MRI with the previous doctor a couple years previous. After searching the system with no luck and what seemed unorganized he finally said, “Oh well we have a new system and I can’t find it, but we know Insurance won’t cover it without PT with whatever we do anyway.” My hip pain has gotten terribly worse and I didn’t start PT because I feel as though he’s ordering PT for something he can’t diagnose Without an MRI. I just recently went back to the MRI results from 2014 and there was several issues with my hips including impingement, tears, and more. I had a kidney transplant at the Cleveland Clinic (2011) and will now being going to CCF for my extreme hip pain. The reason I didn’t do the surgery previous is I had 3 more children. I see the best of the best at CCF. We are talking medical practices where they take your blood pressure 10 times and average it. There is no way my doctors in Cleveland would shrug it off without ordering a new MRI or reviewing the one I had done 4 years previous. I’m a hard critic of doctors because what it looks like if you aren’t your own advocate. I can’t take Tylenol around the clock anymore. I’m not confident in this doctor. I will say he is a nice doctor and maybe he is great at the surgery part, but he definitely wasn’t thorough with my visit. I paid a lot of money for a consult with something I could have done at my family doctor. I also waited an hour. I went in for a second time, first time I saw a different doctor. If I could give Dr. Ellis more than 5 stars, I would. Five weeks ago he performed a full anterior hip replacement on me at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Leading up to surgery I was extremely scared and anxious. After surgery I stayed overnight and left feeling it was one of the best experiences I've ever had.. He is truly a miracle worker. And the staff working with him are amazing, from the physical therapist to the nurses to the ladies at the desk. He preformed a left anterior hip replacement on me. Was very impressed with first visit, very thorough. His assistant, Tiffany is the best they both answered all my questions. Had my surgery 5 weeks ago. Very very satisfied. I'm a very hyper person, but went into this surgery very calm, I think due to the fact he gives you so much info about it ahead of time. Go to therapy at his office in Dublin and see Katie there. She is very good. Highly recommend him and his staff. One friend is having surgery by him in Nov. My experience with Dr Ellis and his staff could not have been any better. Professionalism, while making me feel welcome, and an extremely positive result from surgery.

My appointment with Dr. Ellis was one of the only appointments of all Physicians I've been to In which I knew he was running late from another surgery, but Dr. Ellis was very thorough and calm and we talked about different topics outside of my immediate care. It made me forget that we were running late and felt like he had all the time available for me. Other doctors try to catch up on their schedule and meet other patients on time. Which is good, until it comes to your appointment and you feel rushed. He was very good at making sure all my questions were answered he would then provide input from questions other patients ask, then would ask me again if I had any additional questions. The treatment course he provided was fair and acceptable, but he did not push a decision right away and said to call when I felt ready to move forward With the next treatment option. The other aspect, was our discussions, where he asked what I did for a living to gauge recovery time and options. Once I told him what industry I was in we struck up a conversation on current events in my industry. It again relieved any anxiety of having a later appointment than scheduled by showing his interest. Dr Ellis helped me a few yrs ago when I had femeroacetabular impingement. No one knew who to treat my hip pain and I began to think that I was crazy. DrEllis knewhow to help me and I will be forever grateful to him !

I first met Dr. Ellis in 2015. As I am a RN, I have high expectations for my healthcare team. I immediately was impressed with Dr. Ellis. He sat down and answered all of my questions. He does not rush. He is compassionate and always works toward a positive outcome. In 2016, he performed an ant. approach hip replacement. I am preparing for a second surgery with him for a different problem. I know I am in great hands and once my rehab is completed will return to my active lifestyle.

Extraordinary doctor/surgeon. As a physical therapist, I've worked closely with orthopedic surgeons since 1972 & Dr. Ellis is the right combination of giving high personal attention to the patient and doing meticulous work in surgery. Personal experience?: my oldest son has had 2 periacetabular osteotomies (PAO) that have both turned out fantastically (total return to high level soccer). I am 3+ month post-total hip replacement & the personal care I received from the moment I walked in the door through to the present has only increased my confidence in Dr. Ellis, his team, & the OrthoOne staff from the front desk on back. Same with the surgical team of nurses, PA (Tiffany is tremendous, as is P.T. -David), etc. Sidebar: at a recent sports medicine conference, a hip surgeon in Cincy spoke of Dr. Ellis, saying "He is on my speed dial; I don't do PAOs because the best is close by in Columbus." I had hip reconstruction surgery by Dr Ellis in Feb 2017. My gluteus minimus muscle was 100% torn. Recovery has been on schedule and my hip is improving every day. The staff at Ortho One are very professional and caring.

This doctor is excellent with explaining goals of surgery. Very pleasant, kind, and concerned about successful surgery. Super happy with my new hip and everyone at office!

AMENDMENT TO PREVIOUS COMMENT: The 2nd opinion doc I saw was COMPLETELY wrong and Dr. Ellis was completely right in is diagnosis of a torn labrum on MRI, despite a negative radiologist's report! My sincere apologies! ( A new MRI confirmed this). Although he is brilliant doctor, I would not follow up with him since he did not return my calls and because of the stories I mentioned of complications in other patients.

Dr Ellis is a lifesaver. He is the surgeon you want operating on you. He is very caring and an extremely good Dr. I had been seen by other doctors who knew I needed surgery, but they didn't think they possessed the skill to fix me. They recommended Dr Ellis...that should tell you all you need to know. Other doctors refer to his expertise.

Doctor Thomas Ellis saved my life when I was 28. He performed a Femoral Osteotomy on my right hip 14 years ago while @ OHSU in Portland, OR. I have had very minimal hip pain since the procedure and have resumed most every activity I want to do. Brilliant Doctor and caring individual. If I ever need an Orthopedic surgeon I'll be tracking Doctor Ellis down for sure.

Dr. Ellis knew what was wrong even from me describing my symptoms. Everything he said was verified with an MRI. He did my hip repair surgery when he was with OSU. My recovery was vent smoothly and I have no more issues with my hip. He's amazing!!!!!
