Dr. Thomas P Mathew

Dr. Mathew put my 91 year old mother in an ambulance and never followed up to see what happened. I have called and left 6 messages to speak with the doctor and he has not returned my call as of yet. His staff as well as the doctor have a lot to learn about compassion

AVOID THIS PLACE. If you’re a patient, check your credit card bills. They charged me $80 when I wasn’t even in New York and didn’t have an appointment. After calling multiple times, I finally spoke to someone in billing. They basically charged me twice for an appointment 8 months ago because I told the doctor I get headache time to time while getting a physical done. Not sure what kind of CON is going on but the doctor didn’t really treat or give me additional tests so why are they charging me TWO VISIT DURING ONE APPOINTMENT FOR A PHYSICAL. I also have insurance so I’m not sure why they didn’t charge the co-pay amount if that was the case. I also didn’t get a bill. I called a dozen times to get this resolved. I was then told that it was an error from a new hire in billing but they haven’t refunded me and it’s been a month. On top of that, the doctor wasn’t that great in the first place. Wait time was horrible. Facilities were lacking. Staff is incompetent. Save yourself some stress/time and avoid this practice and it’s sister locations. AVOID THIS PLACE. He's a good doctor and a wonderful person

Hillside Internal Medicine is family for me and my family. From the front staff to the back staff, nothing but excellent professionalism. The best front staff in NYC.

I have been a regular at the clinic from past couple of years. Dr. Mathew and his staff are very professional. The staff takes utmost care and very friendly esp. the front desk lady with curly hair ( i dont recall the name though)

The front desk is very disrespectful and rude!!!!! The waiting time is almost 2hrs! Never going again.

Doctor is really good. But the overall caustic clinic environment where the receptionists are pretty careless and dont follow the appointment timelines even after having a appointment. Dr. Mathew is my favorite doctor in the world. Listens and understands your problems. Note: I am not related to him just because of my last name.

The wait time is always more than 2 hours, despite getting an appointment. Upon asking the staff is rude and dismissive.

I was referred by a cowrkr to Dr. Mathew about 12 years ago.. Oh My Goodness!!! The man is a walking example of how people should speak to other people; of how doctors should be personable with their patients; of calmness; of grace. Dr Mathew RESONATES calmness! And, on top of that, professionally, he is very thorough. Takes his time to explain what you need, and why. I do not feel ''rushed'' when consulting with him.., as I do with my other MDs. The girls behind the counter are very unhelpful. They are very clinical and seems to have no feelings! Life and death means the same to them. The wait time is nothing less than 2 hours. Then when you see Dr Matthew, he takes less than 5 mins. He seems in a rush to get to the next patient or CUSTOMER!

I went to Dr. Mathew for a persistent cough. Dr. Mathew accurately diagnosed and treated me for my coughj. I would highly recommend him!
