Dr. Thomas A Nguyen

My mother was put on antibiotics for an extremely extended amount of time. This caused SERIOUS damage to her kidneys. Mr.Nguyen had been seeing her routinely for many years. As with routine testing, her GFR was telling of problems. These results were in Mr Nguyen's hands for many months. This is known because it was found by our own accord after checking into the patient portal. We have seen the same papers and charts that they have in their hands. The ones they are to go over and speak to us about during the appointments . I don't know the reason why we weren't told of this before, as the information was in his hands. . Instead, my mother was prescribed medications that did more damage to her kidneys. Also taking Medication that was interaction negatively with her heart medication, again, adding to the damage to her kidneys . He is over booked with appointments. Not enough time for each patient that is needed. A very uncomfortable amount of time to where people with disabilities are in pain the rest of the day. I feel as if it was just not paying attention literally to the test results of the test that he ordered. Human error is natural.. This is not human error by nature. This is not being thorough. Rushing through patients like cattle maybe for monetary reasons. It's very upsetting and can easily make one angry to think that vital organs were damaged just because of laziness or oversight. We expect & demand more from the doctors we give trust to, and their hands in which we place our lives.

They are old school type doctors. They take their time to talk with you about your problem. Also they take walk-ins.

Dr. Nguyen is a man of the people. Compassion is his compass. You will probably wait to see him, but it will be worth it.

Dr Thomas is the dr in southeast i been use him and his staff over 10 years he care for his patients if there something wrong he will get to the bottom of it and do his best to fix it it worth the wait to see a careing doctor and the his staff is super friendly too

Takes 3 hour's of your life you can't get back. From the time you sign in til the time you leave. The front desk staff speak Spanish to one another and laugh, makes you wonder whom they are laughing at. Good physician. But not worth the time it takes!

Dr.. T he is not some prescription thrower.. He is not afraid to tell it like it is no holding back. He does lnot provide unnecessary prescriptions just because you think you need them. He runs blood work and is very thorough in his diagnosis. He has treated my grown children very kindly and with so much care. He gets mad at me or disappointed with me but has never said he would stop treating me. But remember when you make an appointment let the front desk know exactly what need to see him about. His time is spread so thin trying to help so many. Gilmore is lucky to have him and I love ❤️ him. If you're lucky to Have him. As your Dr. He'll never disappoint you... Very friendly Staff. A Doctor who actually tries to find the problem and help u get it solved

Dr. Wynn was incredibly kind, patient and compassionate. His staff was attentive and focused, very empathetic. I felt listened to and seen.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nguyen since moving to Ellijay 5 years ago. Scheduled appointments usually go quickly. Walk in is usually 30 minutes. His staff is great. Dr. Nguyen & his physician assistant are both excellent physicians. They listen to why you are there & explain their diagnosis with you. They are friendly & patient. Also they are American & speak perfect English so don't let the Vietnamese surname deter you. His staff is multi lingual also if you are not fluent in english.

Dr. Nguyen is yery attentive. His kind and patient personality is a trait that I admire (as I too am a physician). Dr N missed cancer in my husband. We sought other care but it was too late. After chemo, radiation and dangerous surgery can returned. My precious beloved went to rest with the Lord 4, months ago. Please beware.

Dr. Nguyen is the best. I drive an hour to see him because he never pressures me or tries to shame me. He’s easy going and attentive. Always takes time to talk to me and listen. His staff is very friendly and welcoming.

My entire family have been patients of Dr Nguyen's for the past 11 years. Sometimes the wait can be long but I have never been disappointed with Dr. Nguyen. He is a kind thoughtful and supportive medical professional. Dr. Nguyen and his NP Tan are both very professional in the way they manage any medial problems my family members might have had.

Been a patient for 15 years. I am sorry to say his office personnel has changed dramatically over the past two years, and are incompetent, unprofessional, and callous. Good doctor, but office staff makes it difficult to continue to be a client. Am in search of a new doctor.

Excellent place to get medical care. The providers here treat all medical conditions and when needed, refer to appropriate specialty. Highly recommend this office for its highly trained, personable, and compassionate providers.

He doesn't go over all your symptoms with you and instead concentrate on one for months at a time. I would not reccomend this Dr at all

Best care around, had back pain for awhile, and got a piece of paper for to get an mri. I feel better already.

Had a procedure yesterday, was very comforting and smooth staff and Tan were awesome. They take walk-ins so when I get sick I don’t have to wait weeks to be seen.

I had a bad case of poison ivy, and needed a doctor and came in 2 min before closing, and they were so nice and polite took great care off me. So satisfy with their urgent care side of their practice.

Dr Tan and Thomas Ngyuen has been my Dr for 5 yrs and had a neighbor recommend him. My whole family goes to them. They are funny and treat you like family. Worse than a factory farm. This Dr. is awful. Hands out meds by the handful. When I told him they were making me sick he said keep taking the pills. Ended up in the emergency room then the hospital. I went to this Doctor to see if I could get help getting off of drugs and he advised me that he would love to help me but detox and withdrawal are not his specialty but if I did get clean he would take me on as a patient. I was disappointed but completely understood that. Here I am 38 days clean so I called his office and told the receptionist that I had been in and he advised me that when I got clean he would take me on and she said she would talk to Dr. NGUYEN and call me back. After about 10 min my phone rings and it's the doctors office and the receptionist informs me that " unfortunately at this time Dr. NGUYEN will not be able to take me on as a patient." So I guess YOU CANNOT BE HONEST with doctors and doctors ARE ALLOWED TO LIE to you. I have been honest with this office and I got punished for it! There's no way this man cares for people or his patients bc what dr. Would want his patients to lie about issues that affect their health and how can you get proper medical care if you are forced to lie about such important issues!?! I had a 1:45 appointment today, at 2:45 still had not seen the doctor. I walk out. I hope they didn’t change my insurance company and I hope I can get my co pay back. Now the next day 9/21/18. I have to wait 10 days to get my co pay back and they will call me. Right, like I really believe that. And they should be ashamed making a patient waiting that long. They do not have an x-ray so don’t waste your time or money like I did if you know you’ll need one. I didn’t see the doctor til I had been there for over 90 min. He informed me they didn’t have an x-ray and sent me down the street to an imaging center that had closed for the day. When I returned I expressed my frustration to the reception desk, it seems like common sense that if someone comes in with an injury that may require imaging, this could be addressed during the absurd wait time. I waited for her return, meanwhile calling and scheduling an appointment with my physician in Atlanta. I got sick of waiting and left. I can’t wait to see how they file this with my insurance and how much it will cost me, after spending less than 5 minutes with the doctor and no follow through, no diagnosis. Regardless that your in severe pain & Even with an appointment wait time was 2+ hours to see Dr. Do not inquire or complain to desk staff as Dr will document in chart “unpleasant patient” and say it’s an urgent care center When it wasn’t urgent care it was always 1-1.5 hour wait but Dr is good for locals as practices are few & far between. Dr. Nguyen is the most honest and sincere Doctor I have ever seen personally. He truly cares about your well being and health. If you read a negative review about the wait it is because they are an urgent care and see people without an appointment due to the fact that our community does not have an emergency room IN THE ENTIRE COUNTY! So the wait time issue is true and an inconvience but it is understandable after you realize why this occurs. 5 years ago Dr. Nguyen was a good doctor. He is dramatically different and I would not refer anuone to him. He defends the rudeness of his nursing staff (they don't wear badges discerning their names or postions; they are rude and very unprofessional as well as judgemental). Dr. Nguyen wants to take pictures of all of his patients for identification purposes. While this is legal it is unnecessary because he scans or copies your drivers license. If you refuse his office staff and nursing staff become offensive. I was told by the nursing staff that I had an attitude problem. Dr. Nguyen told me I was paranoid.

Not very impressed with Saturday staff. Waited 5/10 minutes to check in and receptionist never even acknowledged that I was waiting. Not to mention everyone was coughing, sneezing, etc... In the five years we have been coming to Ellijay. I never had the need to go to a walk in clinic and didn't have a clue where to go. I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Nguyen. I went there on a SaturdaY morning. The facility is on the top Maddox Drive in a stand alone building. The waiting room is bright cheerful and immaculate. The staff was welcoming. Dr. Nygen is very personable and took time to understand my concerns. He prescribed some medicine to help heal my infection. If i or any of my family is in need of a doctor I would recommend them to Dr. Nguyen In the five years we have been coming to Ellijay. Dr.Nguyen and Dr.Tan are amazing with children ... yes sometimes there is a wait but if i can wait in line at six flages for 2 hours for just one ride then i can wait to see someone who true cares for the well being of my boys

Dr Nguyen is the best Dr I have ever had. I won't go into details but I went to see him for blood pressure problems and he helped me with other things and noticed things that I didn't even realize. I owe alot to him and am very greatful for him. Thank you Dr Nguyen....

My husband and I just recently moved to Ellijay from Tampa FL. In need for a doctor, we went to Dr. Thomas Nguyen today who was recommended by a friend and I am so glad we did. I had a fantastic doctor in Tampa for over 20 years and was a little concerned having to find a new one. Dr. Nguyen made me feel at ease from the moment he greeted me. He is very rude and does not listen to you. I tried explaining all my symptoms to him and he only focused on one thing which I was not even experiencing and I tried telling him that ,but he insisted that the reason. then all he did was give me a print out from the internet and said" you know you could have gotten this off the Internet yourself", He is very arrogant and did not address any of my issues. I will be seeing another doctor.

Awful bedside manner. Insensitive to suffering of others.

No follow up, never a call back when leaving messages. Got the wrong diagnosis, and could not get a call back or another appointment to try and get the proper medications. Waste of time, and we are back where we started..Stay away

Always behind seeing patients, rushes through appointments (nurses say he sees over 80 patients a day! That's 6 minutes per patient!). Refuses to go over test results with patients, or hospital records (says he doesn't have time). Will not prescribe ANY type of pain medication "even if you cut off your leg" (his words) but will treat you "for runny noses, diabetes, things like that". My new doc says his actions were "complete disregard for patient health & possibly malpractice".
