Thomas James O'Laughlin

Dr. O'Laughlin is the most amazing, caring, human being in the area of health care. A truly Angel walking on earth. He listens and really takes the time to know his patients and what they are going through. He does not make rushed decisions and puts his heart and soul into his practice.

My experiences with Dr. O have been first rate. While most M.D.s give you only 5 minutes of their time, this physician takes the necessary time to listen and explains what is going on in your body as well as your course of treatment. In short, Dr. O'Laughlin cares about his patients and partners with you in your care. I accompany my husband on every visit. At first I was put off at the "wait" But he is worth it. He goes over every aspect of care and what is doable. Extremely knowledgeable and empathetic Good staff too.

Couldn’t ask for a more compassionate doctor

Wonderful Dr. in Pain Mgmt I went to him many years. Dr. O’Laughlin is very well versed in Fibromyalgia, testing procedures, generalized pain. You might have to wait a longer time but after he listens to your pain needs which took a lot of his time, he’s definitely a Dr. worth your wait! I have not seen him for a few years, I moved to Northern CA and still needed a pain mgmt Dr in Chico CA. I ended up in the emergency from a drs neglect with serious complications I will live with for the rest of my life, under the care of the Chico Dr came extremely close to dying! Never have seen such unprofessional inadequate themselves being former or still using drug addicts! Not one problem did I ever have with Dr. Thomas O’Laughlin, he’s is a fantastic Dr! Very caring Doctor who takes the time to listen and respond to your questions and concerns. With the care and treatment from Dr O'laughlin I have been able to continue working and enjoy life.

He is a really smart and knowledgeable man who really cares about his patients. There is a long office wait time but it's worth it.

Although you may sit on very uncomfortable chairs in this office I love this Dr for his bedside manner and how he takes time to talk to you. I always leave there with a feeling that I was heard. I always feel that he truly cares for my well being. Always trying several different ways to lessen the pain we so sadly endure on a daily basis. Bottom line this Dr. treats you with respect and dignity. So down to earth. So in essence... if I have to sit and wait on these uncomfortable chairs to see him than I'll bring a pillow for my bottom, my favorite book to read and or some kind of device to watch a movie or surf the web. I have the worst case of CRPS Fibromyalgia! I was 29 when it started. I was scared doctors said I was just drug seeking! I was at the point of sucide, I couldn’t handle the horrible pain I spent a year in bed! Until I came to Dr. O. He didn’t look at me he actually listened/paid attention to my symptoms! I am forever grateful to him he’s went above and beyond to help me! He’s extremely knowledgeable on diseases/illnesses that take over the body. I love you doc thanks for my life & not giving up

Dr. O’Laughlin (Dr. O) is by far and wide the BEST at what he does. We all know that medication is a tricky subject, even more tricky is finding out what is really wrong. Dr. O spent so much time talking with me (not at me) after coming from my PCP, who had NO regard for my overall health, Dr. O is refreshing with his knowledge and explanations of what is going on! We are working together for long term pain treatment! It’s a privilege to be able to be his patient. Worth waiting for!

Results are worth waiting for. Pain is so complex, it deserves careful study, and Dr O takes the appropriate time to deal with the full spectrum chronic pain presents - and always wants to improve treatment . He cares, and he gets it

I had been a patient of Dr O's for many years. He is an excellent doctor who knows what he's doing and takes the time to listen to patients and answer questions. That's the upside. The downside is that his patients are forced to wait for HOURS, not minutes, no matter what, and while you are forced to sit and listen to other patients complain about the wait, your car might get towed, parking is limited.

There is no more dedicated a physician anywhere. While the insurance companies pay him for a15 min appointment, he takes whatever time necessary to fully understand and get to the bottom of a patients medical issue, explore possible solutions, and work to find the best course of treatment. As a result of his concern for each patient, he runs significantly behind time. Most of his patients understand this and are grateful to him. There is a special place in heaven for doctors like him.

He's a great doctor! May have a wait for your visits. Other patients become friends after time of conversation. I suggest a visit from a food truck during the 11am to 1pm time frame as many are caught off guard by waiting. It's not awful, but plan ahead. His treatment is better than most Dr's as he tries to first solve the problem. He doesn't throw pain meds at people. He treats problems. He's a great doctor! May have a wait for your visits. Dr O takes time to actually get to know you as a person. I don't feel like I'm a meal ticket to him, this probably explains the extreme wait times, but he's worth the wsit. Before I started seeing him my pain levels were horrendous, and now I'm living again. His office staff is polite and courteous as well.

I've been seeing him for chronic pain for 2+ years. At first I put up with the all-day wait and the rude and unprofessional staff because I thought he really wants to help me figure out how to get better. I'm not sure I believe that any longer. He has pressured me into a medication I don't want due to its addictive nature. I've been on a regimen that's been working, but he tries to change things every month. His staff is consistently unprofessional and unconcerned with their work and patients.

I believe they over book themselves. Each time I come for my scheduled appointments I usually don't get seen until after 5-7 hours later. This is ridiculous. I have been there more than six times. Myself and other patients complains of such long waits. Most of us patients will let each other what time we got there and so forth. My appt. was for 3 and I did not leave the office until after 9 pm and there were still 5 more patients waiting in the lobby room. This is so sad and unprofessional.
