Went to the ER unable to swallow in June 2019. Did a CT and X-ray bc I had hiatal hernia repair surgery a year before. Said it was indigestion!!! Next morning still struggling to swallow went to my regular doctor and as an adult at 57 I had Thrush!! Yes thrush white spots all over the mouth, tongue and throat. My Dr found it in 2 seconds less than 15 hours later and yep I had a huge ER bill to pay and was not diagnosed properly. I might add I saw Dr. Chilcote less than 2 minutes!!
Dr. Chilcote reduced my badly dislocated and broken ankle on Feb. 11th, 2018 in Shawnee Mission ER. According to my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Chilcote’s quick action prevented my bone from breaking the skin which would have caused a much more complicated surgery. He has a great bedside manner and obviously excellent skills. I feel very fortunate he was on duty that day and highly recommend him for any medical needs you may have.
Dr. Chilcote is hands down the best ER doctor I've ever met. He actually listened to my concerns, sitting in the room with me so I didn't feel rused at all, took them seriously and treated them appropriately. He also has a bedside manner that all ER doctors should strive for...trust, compassion and empathy, yet no one achieves...at least any medical professional I've met. Wonderful man.
