Such a great doctor, and I don't say this lightly! He's very kind and thoughtful, does a thorough job of checking everything, and thinks outside the box when it comes to eye issues. This type of doctor is really rare these days...believe me, I've been to many ophthalmologists due to a severe eye issue. Wish there were more doctors around like him. Highly recommended. Dr. Malone is a highly intelligent and compassionate doctor . I had the pleasure of working in his office for one year , 5 years ago. Dr. Malone is quick to see patients in a state of emergency , even new patients . He conducts thorough exams and I have not ever known him to misdiagnose a single person. Not to mention, he is extremely talented in reconstructive surgeries . Dr. Malone is not purely just a doctor. He cares very much for his patients and that is evident in his practice . I have been going to Dr. Malone in Great Falls for over 25 years, and would highly recommend him. He’s very thorough and patient in dealing with my astigmatism, which has often resulted in having to adjust or reorder my updated gas semi-permeable contact lenses, if adjustments are needed. I’m not good with multiple-choice tests (tend to over-analyze) and often have trouble deciding during eye exams “Which is better: 1 or 2?” Dr. Malone is very patient in switching back and forth until I arrive at a conclusion. And, I’m always extremely pleased with the end result. I really appreciate his professionalism, patience, and competency and also appreciate his very competent, pleasant staff. When I recently walked in without an appointment for an emergency with an abrasion on my left cornea, his very pleasant receptionist, Jillian, let him know immediately, and he squeezed me in within minutes, numbed the pain, examined my eye, and gave me drops to restore my vision and prevent an infection. Now I’m back to 100% in that eye, thanks to his immediate response. I find his location stress-free, very comfortable, and convenient in the heart of Great Falls, and I love the fact that I’m not treated as merely a number. Let me start from the beginning. My first appointment I walk into Dr. Malone’s office to the receptionist. She tells me Dr. Malone was out sick and somehow they must have called the wrong number to reach me and let me know. Disappointed, yet I understood. Life happens, numbers get mixed up. I rescheduled and then went back. On this visit, I am waiting and an elderly woman and her daughter walk in. The receptionist tells them their appointment was for an hour earlier and they missed it. They both were very confused and both had 4 o’clock on their calendars. Unapologetic the receptionist sent them away. I felt really bad and would have given up my appointment for the elderly woman, but had a medical issue with my eye that needed to be treated. Dr. Malone did a great job medically treating me. Fast forward a month. My eye still is not 100% and I’m going back for a follow up. They call me the day before and ask if I can move my appointment from 3:15 to 3:00. I said I could do my best to get there early, but that it would be hard for me to leave work and would like to keep the 3:15 appointment. Unfortunately, I end up being 10 minutes late. Yes, I am ten minutes late and I even call to give a heads up and apologize. I walk into the office and they tell me Dr. Malone can not see me. A little frustrated considering I’m only 10 minutes late and there are no other patients in the exam room or waiting room, but I guess understand. Dr. Malone walks out of the empty exam room asks me what’s wrong and then turns around and walks away. The whole experience was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Trying to reschedule I realize this isn’t the place for me, and end up not booking an appointment. I understand life happens, it would have been nice to get the same treatment in return coming from a place of business. It would have been nice to follow up with Dr. Malone, apparently he’s a great eye doctor. Let me start from the beginning. My first appointment I walk into Dr. Malone’s office to the receptionist. I have been a patient of Dr. Malone for nearly twenty years. He gave me my first prescription for glasses in the third grade; i got my first pair of contacts from him in the seventh grade. In the twenty years as his patient, i have never received anything less than the most skilled, practiced medical care as well as friendly and accommodating service from his staff. Dr. Malone is a phenomenal ophthalmologist. I witnessed first-hand his exceptional patient care throughout my two years working in his office. His office is clean and his staff is kind and very responsive. As a fellow physician I have high standards for the doctors I trust to care for my family and I have referred my entire family to him. They have continued returning to him for their eye care over the past 7 years despite having to drive over an hour to see him because they like him so much. He is compassionate, thorough, incredibly intelligent (he was a professor in the ophthalmology department at Georgetown University) and an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon. Dr. Malone is a phenomenal ophthalmologist. I would definitely recommend Dr. Malone for any eye surgery needs. He came very highly recommended by my dermatologist, and she was certainly correct. I am thrilled with my results! He is caring and professional, and allowed time for questions. He called after surgery to make sure I was okay. His staff is amazing as well.

Dr. Malone has been taking gentle care of my eyes for more than 20 years. His manner is thoughtful, very professional, and reassuring. He explains any issues that I may have, and is attentive to my family history of glaucoma. I highly recommend him for "routine" eye exams and for any procedures that go beyond the routine. I have not yet needed eye surgery, but will totally trust Dr. Malone to take very good care of my eyes when I do need surgery.

If we could give 10 Stars we would. We discovered Dr. Malone in the Washingtonian under Best Ophthamologist 15 years ago. Besides being a brilliant eye surgeon, His mannerism is of a professional nature as is his staff. His office runs on time and makes time for our adult children when they come home to visit. Why go anywhere else?

We have moved away, but drive back to Great Falls for our appointments. Dr. Malone is dimly the best!

I have never had surgery before prior to this experience, so as you can imagine I was very very nervous! On the morning of my surgery I was beside myself. Dr. Malone put me at ease by answering every one of my questions and made sure to keep asking me if I had any more questions before moving on. There were no feelings of being rushed into the surgery room. Dr. Malone is a master at what he does! A quiet man who lets his work speak for itself!! His staff is top notch and go above and beyond!

Long story but went to a retinal specialist in La Jolla at Scripps Hospital. She said that the lens implant for the cataract surgery was the best she had seen! Both eyes! Asked who had done it - I told her it was Dr. Timothy Malone, but of course it was no one local whom she knew.

Dr. Malone was amazing. I had a pretty serious eye infection and could not see. Dr. Malone and his staff got me in quickly and started easing my symptoms immediately. The doctor was reassuring, calm, and helped me understand what was going on and my prognosis. I highly recommend him.
