He discusses everything before hand. Even taked to my back surgeon beforehand.

My husband thinks he is a miracle worker… absolutely no pain now and he couldn’t walk at all before surgery

Dr. Galdes was exceptional both in his caring about me and his surgical ways. I will recommend him and have already to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon!

Dr Galdes is so knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and very thorough. I trust him explicitly. He assured me with the positive course of action I chose (hip replacement - of which he gave me other options and let me decide), answered all my questions and helped me understand my ailing hip. I look forward to hip replacement surgery even though I already have 2 knees, 1 shoulder and soon 1 hip from past sports injuries. I reveal this so others are not afraid. At soon to be 69, I lead a very active, outdoor sports filled lifestyle and have great success in my rehab and ZERO pain from any replacement. Nothing has kept me back, but I’m careful, too! I know I’m in great hands with Dr. Galdes and am so very thankful that he is in Traverse City!

Dr.Galdes always take time to listen and give beneficial options.

Everyone in the office was professional and efficient. Dr. Galdes took time to reassure me and answer all of my questions.

From the first consultation to my six week post-op the experience with Dr. Galdes has been exceptional. The communication, time spent answering questions and upbeat energy has made my experience with hip replacement and office visits great!

Dr Galdes is a kind, sincere and extremely talented physician and surgeon. He pioneered anterior approach to hip replacement in Traverse City. I remember attending his presentation on anterior hip replacement at our continued medical education conference at Munson about a decade ago or more.

Dr. Galdes is very professional, but makes you feel comfortable about your upcoming procedure, which is very important to myself and my family. He took the time to discuss options, but we both knew what needed to be done and again, made it very comforting looking forward to the surgery, how many people say that ????

Dr. Galdes is an outstanding surgeon and a caring, friendly doctor. I had to have knee replacement surgery that was involved and complicated. While I was in the hospital, he kept me well-informed regarding what was happening, and consulted with other specialists when needed. I had full confidence that he was on top of all the challenges that occurred. His office appointments usually run on time. Dr. Galdes is a very personable & competent Doctor/Surgeon. He takes time with you & very good at listening to your symptoms & explaining what he thinks your problem is & how he is going to treat you & if a follow up is needed. Dr. Galdes is professional, knowledgeable, and a skilled surgeon. He answered all my questions at every appointment and I never felt rushed. Dr Todd Galdes is amazing. My surgery was scheduled and completed on February 16, and I was released to return to work 7 weeks later. The care by the staff of Great Lakes Orthopedic was totally professional and wonderful I had in house PT therapy at GLOC. While I was released today, I also scheduled my other total knee replacement surgery for November. Todd added years to my life and I am walking better that I have in the last 10 years. Dr. Galdes is probably the Best Orthopedic Doctor in Michigan. He is so knowledgeable and explains and teaches and he shows that he cares about the whole person and treats the whole person not just a fractured hip or knee. He is truly a wonderful caring Doctor. I am so glad he is a Doctor ‼️

Was attended to in a timely manner, treated kindly , and I was pleased with the diagnosis and line of treatment.

He has done 2 hip replacement on me, and will shortly replace my right knee. Nothing but top notch in all areas

Dr. Groseclose performed three hip surgeries on me within 12 months starting June, 2018. I never fully recovered from those procedures in spite of how quickly I heal. I was in extreme pain, and couldn’t walk correctly. After many return visits, receiving every test I could request, he found nothing. Dr. Groseclose had Dr. McGraw review my films. He also asked Dr. Galdes who handles “the difficult hips” to do him “a favor” by seeing me. After much wasted time and unnecessary suffering, I was told there was “nothing surgically wrong” and “my prosthetics were fine.” I received a recommendation of “more intense physical therapy” (after 3 painful-failed attempts), and to come back in a year. Dr.Groseclose and Dr. Galdes said my “pain pattern doesn’t match anything.” I identified “too many places.” Dr. Galdes actually pointed to his prefrontal cortex area while telling Dr. Groseclose that I think about the pain “too much.” That was the last offense I would subject myself to at Great Lakes Orthopedic Center. I went to Mayo Clinic. It was there that I learned my prosthetics were “mal positioned” inhibiting boney growth necessary to stabilize my hips. They were “wobbly” causing the pain exactly where I reported, “confirmed by my films” from Traverse City. Nothing was wrong with the parts themselves, just their original placement. My biological functioning was fine, just not given the chance to attach to the prosthetics based on where they were placed. Nothing I did caused this or any circumstances post surgery. Mayo Clinic advised me to cease physical therapy that moved my hips. I shared my Mayo medical records with Dr. Groseclose in November 2019. Accountability for those errors would’ve been appreciated. I had to, and continue to bear the burdens of extended intense pain, as well as the financial hardship of having my hips corrected at Mayo Clinic with all that entails. I’m deeply disappointed with my experience with Dr. Groseclose. Thank God for the exceptionally skilled team at Mayo Clinic. February 12, 2020 I underwent a revision of my left hip (that made 3 surgeries on that hip in 16 months-2 for naught). Lord willing, my right hip revision will take place in a few months. The Lord is good.

He performed my husband's hip replacement and we nothing but great things to say about our overall experience with him.

After suffering with hip and back issues for over 8 years Dr. Galdes did a hip replacement using the anterior method. I was up and walking within 4 hours. Within 2 days I was walking, very carefully, up and down stairs unassisted. My recovery time was amazing and I have had no issues at all since the surgery. I highly recommend that anyone with related issues go to him. He partners with Munson Medical Center in TC which also has fantastic services and staff.
