Dr. Trevor Reed Pickering

After numerous trips to relieve hip pain, my husband was sent to physical therapy for the fourth time, after the first three did not work. The staff was very friendly but he has not been helped with the actual problem. Passing him off to someone else knowing that physical therapy was not going to help. Very disappointed and wasted time!!!

Dr. Pickering was recommended to me by my gentleman friend, who was also Dr. Pickering’s patient for 2 hip replacements. I was instantly comfortable with him and immediately felt like I made the right choice, one I should have made 6 months ago!

Dr. Pickering did my surgery about 3 months apart. Here it is 2023 and I walk better than I ever have in my life. He is a true miracle worker.

Total knee replacement surgery.

This visit was a follow up check, plus a check about some discomfort I'd been experiencing. I was in and out in less than hour, and they diagnosed and fixed the discomfort. Dr Pickering and his staff were professional, friendly, and very efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Pickering and Mississippi Sports Medicine!

After years of struggling I had a total left knee replacement, From the beginning, I was guided through the process by Dr Pickering and his staff. I felt very confident after meeting Dr Pickering that I was in good hands. He is also very personable which is a plus when anxiety kicks in. I am excited to get my right hip replaced after my successful left hip replacement. I have talked to so many people about this kind of surgery and feel blessed that I had Dr Pickering as my Physician.

Has office hours in Madison on Wednesdays, fast response on early am appointment date and time, filled out new patient forms available on website and reviewed videos before appointment. Little or no waiting before doctor arrived, very personable, sets at ease with info and answered all questions. Good experience.

Results. Pain is almost gone.

This is my second hip replacement. Dr Pickering was the surgeon for the first one and I definetly wanted him for this one. The facility is A1. They get you in, each person does there job well.

The Staff & Doctor were very polite. Doctor took time and listened & it made me feel like he really cared about helping people. I trust him.

Did a great job on my knees. So good to be able to walk without pain.

I had hip replacement surgery. Everything went well from start to finish.

Dr. Pickering is wonderful! I would highly recommend him to anyone with an issue. He listens and has a great "bedside manner."

Dr. Picketing and his staff are professional and caring. No questions go unanswered and what is surely repetitive to them, is always addressed to the patient’s satisfaction. Dr. Pickering has replaced both of my hips and will replace the first knee in March. I highly recommend him to anyone suffering with hip and knee joints.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pickering!! My hip replacement experience was totally positive and successful. Dr. Pickering is a truly caring, skilled physician who gives his patients the confidence and comfort of knowing that they will be well taken care of. And they indeed are. There ought to be more rating stars available because Dr. Pickering and his team would certainly deserve every one of them ! Having ones quality of life returned to them is such a gift and Dr. Pickering does just that!

Dr Pickering is an innovative, talented orthopedic surgeon. He performed an outpatient anterior total hip replacement on me 4 years ago. I was up and walking immediately and was getting out within a week. He is an outstanding listener and has obviously studied your information before coming into the exam room. On my most recent appointment, I was in the waiting room less than 5 minutes, had X-rays immediately and was in an exam room less than 10 minutes before he came in. Dr. Pickering is outstanding!!

Takes an interest in his patients. Listens to his patients and is an highly skilled professional would recommend him to anyone.

Organized, thorough, timely. Friendly staff. All questions were answered to my satisfaction. Seemed sincere, did not rush through the visit. Told me that he would take good care of me and that he would do whatever it took in my situation to make sure I had a good outcome.

I became acquainted with Dr. Pickering last summer when I needed a total hip replacement. I received excellent care and communication from everyone. Dr. Pickering discussed symptoms and options clearly. I recently had to return due to pain in the other hip and again received prompt care, excellent efficient care and a plan of care going forward with this hip that makes sense and I expect great results again. Dr. Pickering has treated my worn out knees very well and has provide a lot of relief of continues pain I had been having for about 4 months. Clinic was very friendly and efficient. I have used Ms Sports Medicine for many years and many reasons. First time to see Dr. Pickering. He was awesome. Would recommend him to anyone suffering from hip issues.

Dr. Pickering was very personable, kind and listened to my concerns and came up with a good treatment plan for me. I liked him instantly.

Dr. Pickering and his staff were very friendly and most helpful. He was very through with the exam of my knee and explained his findings and diagnosis completely. He listened to my questions regarding recent health concerns that I had just discovered. He offered alternate treatment on my knee until the extent of my newly discovered medical condition was better understood. I thought that we had a most successful visit!

I was so relieved after speaking with Dr. Pickering. He has a special way of comforting and reassuring a person. I felt encouraged as I left his office. And, by the way, the new location in Flowood is FABULOUS!!! Roomy, clean, and spacious.

Fast and friendly reception. Very professional staff. Dr Pickering was very caring. He presented all the options of care so I could make an informed decision. He made a referral for a specialist and was very intent to get me as pain free as possible. Very compassionate.

I want to encourage anyone suffering with hip pain, let Dr Pickering and his staff help get you back to the activities you once enjoyed. You won’t regret you did! Can’t express my gratitude enough for their superior and outstanding care of my full hip replacement, thank you! From beginning to end I was always given time and attention to ask questions and get the advice needed to go forward with the best plan of treatment and care. Once again I turn to Dr. Pickering at Mississippi Sports Medicine to perform surgery on my right knee. Great job on my previous left knee replacement. Dr. Pickering and his team were great from pre op to surgery completion. Bottom line, they care. I will always be grateful. Thanks Dr. Pickering and Mississippi Sports Medicine.

When we first arrived it felt like pulling up to Walmart. Cars and people everywhere coming and going. I looked at my wife and said this is going to be a long wait. Boy was I wrong! Check in was very fast and the next thing I know I was having my knee x-rayed. Before they even finished the x-ray they had us a room waiting. I waited less than five minutes and Dr. Pickering entered having already reviewed my results and had a game plan in mind. Super attentive, did not feel rushed at all, and most importantly after 30 years of knee pain he executed the plan and the next morning I woke up pain-free! He has a plan and if it is going to be like I feel today then this will be a life changer. I am so thankful I am using Dr. Pickering. Had my initial visit and surgery was scheduled fairly quickly. From arrival to discharge, my experience was great. He explained everything to me. He is very kind warm atmosphere and friendly.

Went for last regular follow up from knee replacement done 5 months ago and felt so good to walk down that hall without pain or a limp! Grateful for good care & surgery results from Doc Pickering & his staff. *Having multiple office locations I liked because it helped me get in some appt. times a quicker if I needed & use the offices closer to me when needed for convenience or scheduled checkups . Surgery Center in Flowood on Lakeland was very impressive. Lucky to have this over all experience.

Dr. Pickering to me is the best after 2 knee replacements I am doing things I couldn’t do for the last 15-20 years with no pain. He cares about getting you back to a normal life style

I had Hip replacement October the 29th, 2019. When I went to my first appointment with Dr Picking to talk about getting the hip replacement I loved him and thought he was amazing! I let him do the hip replacement 45 min after surgery the nurse came in and told me I have to leave. I told her I was not ready I felt like I was not even awake good. My husband is a doctor and was there with me. He could not believe they were making me leave that fast. They had not walked me or anything. They put me in wheelchair took me to car and put me in the backseat. I am from the coast so was staying in hotel just to have the surgery done. If my husband had not been a doctor and been there with me I do not know what I would have done. He had to get me out of the car and walk me in for the first time walking after surgery.. When I went back to see Dr Pickering after the surgery I told him how upset I was and he did apologize . He told me I did not have to come back unless I was having any problems. I made an appointment with HIM tomorrow and wanted to talk about my pain and my scare. The scare is lot worse than I thought it would be and wanted him to see it. I just got notification to confirm my appointment with his PA. I did not make appointment with PA. I have never even meet them, I made appointment with him. Had total knee replacement. Had the out patient surgery on a Tuesday. Had to be there for 6:30 am. Was on my way home around 11:30am. Was up & walking with a walker that afternoon. Was walking without a walker, cane, nor any other assistance on Friday evening. Was no longer taking any pain medicine on Friday afternoon. Drove myself to a regular Physical therapy clinic on that Monday. Six months since I’ve had surgery. I do not walk with any type of limp. I can walk up a flight of stairs normally. I can get on the floor & get back up. I do not kneel much on that knee though. Couldn’t really kneel on that knee prior to surgery. Dr. Pickering demeanor is wonderful. Willing to answer any questions or concerns. Does not rush through the visit either. Dr Pickering is very knowledgeable very cordial very friendly. He replaced my hip in December 2018 and I have had no issues. He just replaced my knee in November of 2020 I look forward to a successful recovery. I highly recommend Dr Pickering.

Doctor Trevor R. Pickering, is the man I was sent to see when my knee failed, he and his staff have taken care of me for quite a while now. My heart is in such bad shape an operation is out of question at this time. He and his staff have made sure I am as comfortable as I can be, until we get to do the operation. They have gone out of their way to help me be able to do things I could not do before. I want to give a big thumbs up to him and his staff. I was not able to walk for 8 days, because of hip pain, called his office, was taken in 3 days later, his associate game me an injection and I was able to walk out of their office with out help of any kind. The whole experience was great! Taken in appointment 15 minutes early. X-ray tech was quick and professional. Assistants were knowledgeable and cordial. Dr. Pickering was very good, straight to the problem, shot in the hip and out, whole appointment in and out in less than an hour. Very satisfied and pleased.

Dr. Pickering replaced my right hip, 5 days ago, and I’m able to walk with only minor pain, now. He is a wonderful surgeon, and I’m very pleased with his work, and also his projected confidence in my results!

I saw a news spot featuring Dr. Pickering and “Rosa”. I scheduled an appointment immediately as I was in desperate need of a total knee replacement. From the moment I arrived from the MS Gulf Coast (to the Flowood location)for the initial consult and now 18 months post surgery, I couldn’t be more pleased. I followed all post op instructions and I’m wearing my heels again! I can climb and descend stairs, as well as dance again...all without pain. There are many instances I have actually forgotten I had a knee replacement. I absolutely love Dr. Pickering.

Dr Pickering is the best!!!!

It was fast! I did get the answer I needed though it was not what I wanted to hear. Dr Pickering replaced my left hip in 2017 and I have had no problems after a very quick recovery. The right hip needs replacement now. I trust Dr Pickering completely.
