Dr. Vernon J Cooley

Responding for my grandson. It has now been 2 weeks and 3 days since his skiing accident. And a week since his MRI and we still do not have any prognosis. We’re promised a phone call with results on the day following the MRI. NEVER CAME. Then we’re promised results the next business day. NEVER CAME. And the day after. NEVER CAME. And the day after that. NEVER CAME. These included 2 trips to the hospital with promises. We have had excellent care from another physician in this practice but, apparently, Dr. Cooley is either too busy or hopelessly inept. Find another surgeon.

Dr. Cooley is one of the most personable doctors I’ve met. He was very thorough, and explained everything in a very straightforward way. His treatment recommendations were very helpful.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Cooley! He explained things well and why we needed to do what we needed to do. (Surgery) He was warm and super positive and I felt comfortable with him right away. I will go to him again in a heartbeat if I need to.

I have known Dr. Cooley since he was seven years old. I have referred many of my friends to him and he has done an amazing job. All of them can not say enough good things about Dr. Cooley. You will not find a more personable, talented orthopedic surgeon on the planet.

Dr Cooley is fantastic. He’s efficient and very skilled in his craft. I interviewed a few doctorA before getting into Dr. Cooley, for a torn ACL. He was definitely worth the wait and I’m excited to be back at in the next couple of months. If I had to go through it again I would definitely return. Dr. Cooley is a wonderful surgeon but dealing with his office staff in Park City is awful. There is very poor communication. They had us on the surgery schedule before they had an authorization from our insurance, so we were planning on surgery with work off, etc., and then had to cancel it last minute, due to lack of insurance authorization. Our insurance was requiring physical therapy to the knee 1st to see if that would work and the order sent over for physical therapy was so vague that they were working with the wrong joint. So after driving all the way to Park City from Utah County for a pre-op visit and then finding all of this out, we are switching to another orthopedic doctor.

Dr Cooley is awesome--professional, yet personable. Offered good advice, did a great job on my knee, and really liked the entire staff. I highly recommend him! Jeff, Park City, UT--Sept, 2020

I have gone to Dr Cooley for almost 20yrs. I have had numerous surgeries, almost every 2 yrs. He has always treated me as an equal. I have never had so much confidence going to any one doctor as I do when I go to him. I know all the staff by a first name basis, they treat you like family. I would highly recommend this office to anyone, as a matter of fact I have numerous times! I found him 19 years ago after getting 3 other opinions and have never needed other opinions after. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Cooley, his assistant Steve, and the entire staff at their clinic at Intermountain. I was originally mis diagnosed by a doctor at Redstone, and when my knee blew up and I could barely walk to started calling knee doctors. Dr. Cooley was able to identify several problems that others missed and scheduled me for surgery. Dr. Cooley spent the time to explain everything to me so I felt comfortable about the whole process. He has an awesome bedside manner. My surgery was in October and December I was hitting the slopes!! If you need surgery, you are in great hands with Dr. Cooley! Fantastic doctor! He diagnosed my torn ACL very quickly, and provided excellent care. My ACL was surgically repaired and my recovery started very quickly. I appreciate his integrity when meeting with me and the attention he pays to detail. Thanks for helping me get on my way back to skiing!

Had the acl procedure where the ligiment was graffed from the hamstring. Is what they fail to mention is the evassive procedure does more damage to your hamstring then the actual acl fix. So your ACL is now repaired but the long term affects to the hamstring you will live with the rest your adult life. Knowing what I know now I'd opp for the cadavor acl replacement procedure. After pain for years in my hamstring and now reaking havoc on my back. It's all connected and if one thing is messed up putting tension on something else something is bound to give aka your back. I'd avoid there procedure. I'm sure there great surgeons that can repair your ACL but at what cost to the rest of your body? My hamstring had yet to fully recover 15 yrs later. Do your research I'm not the only patient with long term hamstring pain after such surgeries. Had the acl procedure where the ligiment was graffed from the hamstring. Just had my meniscus cleaned up and feeling great!

Can't get better than Dr. Vernon Cooley and his exceptional crew. Takes the time, listens well, works hard to understand what's happening and find the route toward best outcome. Highly recommended.

Go straight to Dr Cooley! I had another surgeon perform knee surgery a year prior and within 2 minutes of the exam Dr Cooley knew what the other surgeon had done wrong. He performed an additional surgery and I’m almost completely healed!

Dr. Cooley is very professional and personable. I have had 3 surgeries on my knee and I wouldn't want anyone else to perform them but him. He is easy to talk with and has a attitude that he wants to do what's best for you. Totally trust his judgment and his skills! Recommend him to everyone who needs help with their knees.

He is simply amazing. My knee is better than ever. I should have done the surgery sooner instead of waiting all summer. I couldn't be happier! His staff is terrific as well. The entire procedure was made as comfortable for me as possible from my first visit all the way through.
