Dr. Vitalis Chukwudi Okechukwu

BEWARE! Since I can’t leave a review without giving a star, this infectious disease doctor is the worst in my opinion. He gets very upset when the patient asks questions and he has an enormous amount of sarcasm with his responses. Dr Ok abandoned my father in the middle of a treatment plan that he was providing for the spinal infection that HE HAD DIAGNOSED!! He DID NOT tell my father that the spinal biopsy, that he took, was lost and that the pathology lab NEVER RECEIVED THE SPECIMEN! NO TRANSPARENCY! He also told my father that another MRI had gotten worse, but the results from the radiologist were contradicting. NOT TRUE! This doctor is only concerned with his own mental state and NOT THAT OF THE PATIENT!

Clueless practice both dr and NP! In a time of serious event, they will fail you! Discussing people!

I've been a patient for couple of years now and Okechukwu and Lindsy NP have got to be the worse duo in "practice" in Louisiana. Both are totally clueless, rude, arrogant, don't listen, lacks knowledge in their field and should not be in business. If you are concerned about your health, look else where. The office is run very unprofessional and chaotic!

THIS "DR" AND PRACTICE IS RUN LIKE A POPEYE FRY CHICKEN IN THE GHETTO! DO NOT PUT YOUR HEALTH IN THE HANDS OF AMATEURS!!! YOU WERE WARNED!

Not sure who he has working in his office now, but they do not follow up as they should. They refuse to let me speak to the nurse or doctor. I will not be returning due to lack of professionalism and communication in his office.

Physician is very knowledgeable about his field. His NP is kind and considerate when speaking. I would recommend this MD to anyone with a diagnosis, question or concern related to any infectious disease.

Dr.OK is very good at what he does, but I agree about lack of communication. His staff is not very friendly. They will not let a person even leave a message for his nurse. We have been waiting for a prescription to be called in now for several days. He says the infection is still there after removing the pic line, but does not call in the med needed. Dr. Ok’s staff, particularly his mid level provider, have failed me on several occasions. I am a medical practice manager of a very busy practice, so I understand what it takes to provide excellent care. They have forgotten to send in my prescriptions or add the required refills on two occasions. I’ve only been seeing the office for four months. When I’ve called to determine the underlying root cause of the errors, I have been denied access to the office manager. When requesting a call back from someone about a new medicine prescribed to me, no one ever called me back. I hope they improve quickly or I will have to seek care elsewhere. UPDATE: Since my review, the office staff and mid level provider have been very helpful and provided great care. The front office staff could still use some training in body language and tone of voice for excellent customer service communication. Fantastic Doctor! Explained the process thoroughly and how bacteria grows with professionalism. He came up with a plan and we had positive results from him. We would definitely recommend Dr. Vitalis Okechukwu! Thank you Sir!

I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Okechukwu. He is extremely knowledgeable within his field. Dr. Okechukwu answered all my questions. I was treated with respect from the time I checked in until I checked out. His staff were extremely nice and helpful. Thank you Dr. Okechukwu for all that you have done for me as your patient.

Dr Ok is a great doctor. But I wouldn't recommend him due to incompetent\unprofessional staff. They seem to never be prepared. They wait until day of appt to retrieve lab results. First few visits, I was triaged in a conference room sitting at a boardroom table to give my vitals which were written on a scratch paper instead of directly in my medical records\notes. My pharmacy consistently has trouble getting return calls from their office for refills. I end up facilitating the refills.
