Waqar U. Mirza

Dr. Mirza has been my doctor since 2004. He is best Doctor ever had. He has had my grandmal seizures controlled, an only about 8 mild out 45 days at most. I am sad he has to retire. office recommended me to another in same hospital. which will be challenge to find someone as him who treats you like family an cares.

Dr. Mirza has been my doctor since 2014 he is great I went to a children hospital for 18 yrs. I was given medication every time I had a seizure pills would be uped I went to dr. Mirza when I turned 18 and it took 6 months with test to figure out that I would have seizures for the rest of my life and that I would be a good candidate for the VNS I had the surgery in 2016 and it's 2021 and I have celebrated 3 years seizure free .

I strongly recommend you do NOT go to Dr. Waqar Mirza at De Paul. I am a social worker who assisted a client to her appointment with him yesterday. I am truly still in shock of what occurred and have never been more disgusted by a medical provider's behavior. The questions he asked were extremely inappropriate and in no way related to the purpose of the appointment. He did not ask a single question about the client's condition. Even when reviewing results from blood work, he did not address medication levels. The only time the client's condition was discussed was when the client and I would asked questions; however, Dr. Mirza repeatedly replied "that's not what I'm asking" and continued with the same inappropriate questions. During the appointment he received a phone call from an ER nurse at Christian Hospital about another patient. They talked about why the patient was in the ER, he provided information about the patient's diagnosis and medications. Not only were the client and I sitting four feet away, but the call was ON SPEAKER. I will most certainly be filing complaints I strongly recommend you do NOT go to Dr. Waqar Mirza at De Paul. Definitely a master at his work. He is very well knowledged in treating epilepsy. Would recommend to anyone in need of a doctor to control epileptic seizures.
