Dr. Fields is a caring and compassionate doctor. I came under his care while in the ICU at Beaumont-RO. He has taking the time to sit with me and explain all the testing and long healing process ahead. I can't thank him enough for his excellent care.

UPDATE FEB 2020: Under Dr Fields direction, the team at Beaumont RO got my Dad OFF the vent! Dad had been at 4 other facilities and no one else could succeed at this. Dr Fields is exceptional as a doctor and a person. Getting him off the vent meant everything to us. Dr Fields restored our faith that there are people in the medical community that truly care and are capable of making a huge, POSITIVE impact on the lives of patients and their families. PRIOR REVIEW: My Dad had surgery in June, and it went very poorly and he has been ventilator dependent since then. He was in 2 different facilities that attempted to wean him with very little success. Due to an infection my Dad had to spend about 2 weeks inpatient at Beaumont Royal Oak and we were very fortunate to have Dr. Fields as his pulmonary physician. Dr Fields has been more helpful than anyone and because of him my Dad finally got off the vent for 7 straight days. Now he is at another specialty hospital and they have caused him a setback by changing his medication regiment. I am still hopeful that my Dad can get back on track and with his COPD and asthma being so extreme, I hope when we can get my Dad out of an institutional setting that he can see Dr. Fields on an outpatient basis. Dr. Fields also makes himself available to family for questions and concerns. We are grateful to him for giving us hope. Dr. Fields is a very caring physician. He spends all the time you need with him and explains your questions until you understand the answers. He takes the time to go the extra mile to get what you need to get the best results and has a warm demeanor. Further, he is very unusual in my experience by returning calls promptly and personally. This Doctor is really SCARY and a Big LIAR! Don't believe anything that this Doctor says and tells you! This Doctor is from The Twilight Zone and another Planet! This Doctor is an Alien! This Doctor should Not be telling his Patients that he is going to live with them and their Children! This Doctor is a Crazy Man! Never Trust this Doctor!

This Doctor is nothing that I would have ever imagined and my worst nightmare! This Doctor rattles on and on about nothing pertaining to why I am here and he thinks that he is going to live with me which is totally and completely insane and ridiculous for him to even mention it at all!

Hi Tom in Royal Oak! I'm really very sorry to hear about your horrible experience with Dr. Fields but you should just take him up on his advice and go to the son, Dr. Robert Pensler, Pulmonary Doctor, at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, and I think he has an office in Brownstown, too! Dr. Robert Pensler, Pulmonary Doctor, is an Excellent Awesome Doctor, who is always Patient, Kind, Understanding, Will always listen to you, takes all of your Vitals, sends you for Tests only if you need them!

Poor service. Was charged outrageous price for "new patient" even though I was seen for the same issu, and seen for 15 minutes, billed foe 60 minutes. If asked for alternatives to cpap, he won't even listen...he owns the machines and charges insurance for "leasing"...i asked for a lower charge ($200+ AFTER insurance had paid additional amount). He sent letter saying i should go somewhere else...gladly! Office is dumpy and in disarray. Careful, the timed lobby lights leave you in darkness.

There is nothing memorable about this weird awful terrible Dumb Doctor! I really really really HATE this Doctor! This Doctor does not know what he is talking about and he is very scary! I would never ever refer my Family or Friends to this Doctor!
